Warhammer: Saiyan Adopted by the Wolf King

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Kasha’s Mission

At first, Axis hadn't quite understood, but the last thing the girl said made everything instantly clear to him.

This kind of genetic seed was certainly no ordinary gene-seed!

Her metaphor couldn't have been more spot-on!

Were Imperial female psykers really this forward? They wanted his genetic seed right after meeting for the first time?

Axis had never believed in love at first sight.

In his world, attraction was always rooted in physical desire.

Men and women alike, when drawn to someone, were usually just reacting to good looks.

He wouldn't call himself ugly, but he was far from being handsome enough to make a powerful female psyker fall for him at first glance.

So, anyone acting so attentive without a clear reason probably had ulterior motives!

"Kasha, you must be joking. I don't quite understand what you're getting at," Axis replied, feigning ignorance.

"I've read your file. You went into the modification tank before you were even seven years old, and only woke up recently. Even though you learned plenty about the Imperium, there are still some things you haven't been taught. I could teach you, you know!" Kasha offered.

According to her father, when Axis underwent modification, there had been countless discussions about removing his ability to reproduce, making him like the other primarchs.

But in the end, they hadn't gone through with it.

The reason why remained his father's secret.

"I know what you're talking about! I don't need you to explain. My tutor, Malcador, already gave me a thorough education on those matters, I'm not clueless. What exactly are you after with all this? I came here hoping to have a friendly conversation, not to be teased," Axis said, his expression turning cold.

If Axis ever considered taking a wife, he'd rather choose a beautiful, well-mannered noblewoman with pure bloodline and flawless looks. All she needed to do was love him, bear and raise children for him, nothing more.

But a psyker was an extremely dangerous choice. One mistake, and she could turn into a living portal for daemonic horrors. One slip, and she might be corrupted by the powers of Chaos!

Who knew when she might stab you in the back, or slit your throat while you slept?

"Caution is a good thing, Axis. In that regard, you've passed your first test," Kasha said, smiling.

"If that's all it was, then this test was thoroughly pointless, Miss Kasha. Congratulations, you've lowered my opinion of you to the minimum," Axis replied.

He even considered whether he should ask the Emperor for a new liaison officer.

"I'm sorry, but trust me. I'll always be by your side to help you. My psychic powers are a resource you can't afford to ignore," Kasha said.

Seems she had miscalculated!

This boy was far from naïve or innocent, despite spending twenty-four years inside a tank. Mentally, he was nothing like a youth, he shouldn't have been this mature!

"I hope so," Axis replied simply.

If Axis ever discovered any trace of Chaos corruption in Kasha, he would not hesitate to obliterate this female psyker standing before him.

Over the years, he had learned much under Malcador's tutelage.

Yet when it came to matters of Chaos, Malcador never breathed a word to him, instead relentlessly instilling in Axis the so-called Imperial Truth.

But then, why would they assign such a powerful psyker to remain at his side?

If Kasha's abilities were truly as powerful as she claimed, there was no way she was ignorant of the real nature of the Warp.

Watching Axis walk away, Kasha let out a helpless sigh.

The mission her father had given her had two parts.

The first was to guide Axis, gradually leading him to discover the threat of Chaos for himself, helping him understand the evil lurking in the Warp and the dangers of the Chaos gods.

Her second task was to protect Axis with her psychic powers.

At this moment in the Imperium, aside from her father and Malcador, she was the most powerful psyker. When her younger brother, also gifted with psychic abilities returned, her ranking would drop.

But for now, she was the strongest psyker the Emperor could assign to Axis.

Her psychic power, derived from the Emperor himself, could not be detected by the forces of Chaos, making her even more useful than Malcador in this regard.

She could perfectly shield Axis from the corrupting influence of Chaos.

The Emperor had given his mission, but Kasha had her own thoughts as well.

She never wanted to return to that dark, gloomy dungeon.

She remembered the feeling of having no freedom, imprisoned by black-armored Custodes, isolated from all conversation, her psychic powers sealed.

Day after day, she languished in despair.

It was a torment beyond what any normal person could imagine. So if there was any way, she would do whatever it took not to go back to that hell.

This young man, Axis, was held in higher regard by the Emperor than even the Primarchs themselves.

According to what the Emperor had revealed, the power Axis possessed should surpass that of most Primarchs, otherwise, he would never have been tasked with destroying the Second Primarch.

That was why Kasha wanted to forge a bond with Axis that went beyond mere friendship.

If someone could not protect themselves, their instinct would drive them to seek someone stronger than themselves for protection.

If she could form a marriage alliance with Axis, their relationship would become even more secure.

Perhaps… this was her father's true intention!

Otherwise, the Emperor would never have told her all these things.

This was the subtle brilliance of those in power.

He had made it clear that Axis was her only lifeline, but left all the choices up to her. Nothing was forced, everything was her own decision.

Getting close to Axis was inevitable, but it seemed this boy would not be won over so easily!

Still, no matter what, she had to seize this opportunity. She could not afford to repeat the same foolish mistake again like the last error had already cost her dearly.

Even if she couldn't become the person closest to Axis, she was determined to become his most trusted comrade.

During the next two months, aside from helping the Custodes strengthen their bodies, Axis would also occasionally help Kasha with physical enhancements.

Their relationship seemed to have returned to normal.

Kasha no longer pestered Axis; each day, she simply greeted him in a friendly manner.

Two months later, the Imperial Battleship finally arrived at the target star system.

By now, over a dozen Space Wolves Battleships were already present.

Among them, the largest ship, Gloriana-class Battleship, the flagship of Leman Russ, the Wolf King himself, and the Space Wolves Legion were already here.

"Russ is here too?" Axis asked in surprise.

'Wasn't I told that this mission would be carried out by me alone?
