"It's over."Adam says

It happened a little earlier, right when Noah and the three others attacked the Djinn. When the four slashed the Djinn as they were falling. Near Noah's slash, a small part of the bead was revealed, and the light from the sun caused it to shine brightly. Adam had noticed that small glow and immediately leaped at the Djinn. Adam's sword makes contact with the bead; however, instead of breaking the bead, the sword ends up breaking into multiple pieces.

"WHAT!!!" Adam yells with surprise

He wasn't the only one. Everyone, except Merena, is surprised by what just happened.

"Just like I thought." Merena thought. "The bead is the only thing that can be touched without the use of arcane energy, but it's so hard that it cannot be broken with strength."

The Djinn opens its mouth, and small rays gather in front of its mouth to form a red and orange sphere. It then fires a ray of arcane energy at Adam; however, Gareth throws his sword at Adam, who grabs it and barely deflects the ray to the side, which ends up breaking Gareth's sword. Adam falls on his back because of the power of the ray he deflected. He quickly gets up and backs away

"Damn it! Why didn't the core break!?" Adam says with anger

The Djinn doesn't waste time and chases after Adam, but he gets punched in the face by Merena, which sends it flying a few miles away

"How?" Noah says with anger

Upon taking a closer look at Merena, you could notice something. The hand she just used to punch the Djinn was emitting golden arcane energy. She raises that fist and shows it to the other

"This is the only way to damage it." Merena says while clenching her fist. "You need to use an arcane skill called Roboro. It brings out your arcane energy to strengthen the part covered in arcane energy. Since it covers a part of your body with arcane energy, it also allows you to touch the Djinn's body with that part."

"That's great and all, but I think that you're the only one who can use that skill." Eve says

Merena looks at everyone, and they all shake their heads. Adam and the other walks toward her and stand by her side

"That makes things simple then." Byron says with a smile

Arlo and Seleph nod

"We'll protect you." Gareth says with a smile

"At the same time, we'll attack it to create openings for you." Eve says seriously says

"And you'll deliver the final blow." Adam and Noah say at the same time

The two look at each other with frowns, but before they try to do anything to each other, the Djinn appears in front of them

"We'll settle this later." Noah says annoyed

Adam scoffs. In front of the Djinn, a Squire jumps out of a bush near it

"THE KILL IS MINE!!!" He yells with a smile, and his sword raised in the air

He swings his sword down, but it passes right through. The Djinn turns around and fires a ray at the Squire. Unable to dodge, the Squire takes the attack head-on. After the dust cloud clears up, what they see leaves everyone speechless

"What the hell is going on!?" Seleph says with a nervous smirk

"You've got to be kidding me!" Gareth says with a nervous smile

The other stood there in silence because a little farther away from them, next to the Djinn, stood the remains of the Squire's lower body. It falls to the ground, and even after a few seconds, he doesn't get teleported away

"This just got way worse." Adam says with nervousness

Back in the room where the teachers were overlooking the exam, everyone stood there silently, shocked by the death of the young Squire

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!?!?!?!?" The person at the end of the table yells with anger

The woman with purple hair looks at her hands with confusion

"My art isn't functioning anymore!" She says with surprise

"What!?" The person at the end of the table says. "What's going on!?"

The orange-haired woman looks at the screen

"I believe it's because of the Djinn's arcane energy." She says with a frown. "It seems like it managed to create a pocket dimension."

"How is that even possible?" The violet-haired woman says. "That's not something possible for a Djinn of that level."

"I see." The person at the end of the table says. "Space is only distorted around the forest, and since it's a spatial distortion, that means that the team we sent won't be able to help enter the forest. This year... we lost a lot of talent."

Back in the forest, the group stood there in silence as they looked at the Djinn devouring the remains of the young Squire's body

"YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!" Byron yells in panic. "THAT GUY JUST DIED!!!"

"Calm down, Byron." Arlo says with nervousness

"HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CALM DOWN!!! WE CAN DIE HERE; DON'T YOU SEE IT!?!? He replies in panic. "THIS JUST BECAME AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SITUATION!"

Adam dashes towards the Djinn. It fires another ray of arcane energy, but Adam dodges it by moving to the side. He keeps on running, but the Djinn dashes and swings at him. He dodges once more, but this time by jumping toward a tree. He uses the tree as a foothold and propels himself towards the Djinn. He takes a stance midair

"This stance." Noah says with a frown of anger

"Virtous Hastae!" Adam uses

He throws a punch and makes a giant hole in the body of the Djinn. The attack not only exposed the Djinn's core but also made a dent on the core

"IMPOSSIBLE!!!" Merena yells with surprise. "WITH NOTHING MORE THAN STRENGTH!?!?"

"My turn." Someone says

They all look at the person who appeared from some of the remnants of the forest that was destroyed while the Djinn was going rampant.

"NEANT!!!" Byron yells with surprise

The person was indeed Neant. He came out of the remnants of the forest with his fist ready to hit

"ROBORO!!!" Neant yells

Blue strands of arcane energy surround Neant's left arm. The Djinn turns around and fires another ray of arcane energy, but this time at Neant.

"It realized that those who can use Roboro are the ones who are the most dangerous to it." Neant thought as he ran away from the Djinn that was chasing him

Noah tries to dash at him but falls to his knees before even moving.

"Damn it. The recoil is hitting me now." Adam thought as he winced from the pain of his broken arm

The Djinn lifts one of its hands up after getting in front of Adam and starts swinging it down

"Why isn't he moving!?" Merena asks

Eve and Seleph both start running towards Adam

"It's the recoil from the Fighting Technique!!!" They both say

"They won't make it." Noah says as he follows them

Noah stops after getting a bit closer to them. He takes a stance

"Balnielk; Velox Hastam"

Noah raises his leg sideways and kicks air, which creates a gust of wind that blows away the Djinn's upper body except for its head. After doing so, Noah also falls

"NOW!!!" Noah yells

Arlo, Byron, and Merena all start running at the same time. The Djinn still hadn't recovered from Noah and Adam's technique; therefore, with its unarmed head, it fires another ray of arcane energy at Merena. Byron gets in front of her and blocks it with his sword. He falls after blocking that attack, but Arlo and Merena keep running. The Djinn charges up another attack, but this time gathers more energy and fires a far larger ray

"ROBORO!!!" Neant yells as he blocks the blast with his body covered in arcane energy

The ray makes contact with Neant and creates an explosion from which Merena and Arlo come out with a few injuries. They keep on running and finally get to the Djinn, who has mostly recovered his upper body. Arlo slashes the area that had recovered around the core. Merena draws her fist back

"ROBORO!!!" She yells as strands of golden arcane energy surround her fist

She punches the core, but only cracks appear. In other words, the core hadn't been destroyed. Merena's attack was too wea,k and not only that, but it also left her wide open. The Djinn take that chance to charge up another ray of arcane energy

"Why the hell are you here?" Adam asks

"That's what I want to ask you." Noah replies

The two were standing behind the Djinn

"ROBORO!!!" They both yell

Adam's left arm starts to emit black strands of arcane energy while Noah's right leg emits red strands of arcane energy

"BALNIELK; VELOX HASTAM!!!!" Noah yells as he uses his technique with his broken leg

"VIRTOUS HASTAE!!!" Adam yells as he also uses his technique with his broken arm

They both throw their attacks, and when they do, their arcane energy detaches from their body, mixes up, creating a spiral, and hits the core, breaking it into pieces. As soon as the core breaks, the Djinn explodes and dissipates. The two huff and puff repeatedly, when suddenly, blood pops out from all over their body

"The... recoil." They both say at the same time while falling to the ground

Everyone falls to the floor as they all finally relax

"HOW ABOUT NEANT!?" Byron asks with worry

Arlo points behind him, and there we Neant was lying down on the floor. He had numerous deep injuries, but none were life-threatening. Byron relaxes and lies down on his back

"What do we do now?" Seleph says while also lying down on his back. "It's not like we can continue the exam in our condition."

"Talk about yourself." Adam says while lying on his chest. "I can keep going."

"I'm not letting that bastard win." Noah also says, while being in the same position

Both were glaring at each other, even though they were in no condition to fight, it looked like they would jump at each other. The others sigh as the two continue to argue with each other

Back at the Academy, the teachers had decided to end the exam and declare all of those who were still in the forest as deceased. Which is why they had gathered the eliminated students in the Academy's front plaza. The teacher had given up on those who were stuck in the forest

"Unfortunately, your fellow Squires are now stuck in the forest with a Djinn that has gone through an evolution." The person who was seated at the end of the table said. "It's currently impossible to enter the forest; therefore, we have given up on those Squires. Engrave this in your memory. This is what it means to fight against those beings, against the Djinns."

The purple-haired woman's eyes suddenly widen. She turns toward the person

"HEADMASTER!!!" She suddenly yells

He, who was sitting at the end of the table inside the teacher's room, was none other than the Academy's headmaster. He was a man with grey and blond hair, along with dark brown eyes. His gray hair was obviously due to age since the man looked like he was in his late 50s. He was of quite average height and was wearing a black robe

"What is it?" He asks

"THE CONNECTION!!!" She yells in a hurry. "THE CONNECTION HAS BEEN RESTORED!!!"

All the teachers, including the headmaster, are taken aback by this incredibly good news

"Bring them back immediately." The headmaster says

"Doesn't that mean that a Squire was able to defeat that Djinn?" A teacher says

The teachers now start to whisper amongst themselves

"Space Art; Mass Teleportation." She uses

Back in the forest, the kids look around and notice that the forest wasn't the only thing affected by their fight with the Djinn. The bodies of countless other Squires were lying on the ground. Suddenly, pillars of light start to appear around them. Once the pillar of light appears, the kids finally relax, which causes them to pass out from exhaustion. They then all appear on the grounds of the Academy, surprising not only the students but also the teachers. The headmaster looks at the purple-haired teacher, but she shakes her head

"They are the only ones left." She says with a frown of anger

The teachers all head to the side of the kids and pick them up. The headmaster faces the other Squires

"For now, you all will be guided by the teachers to a place where you will all be able to rest." The headmaster says. "We shall start the welcome and award ceremony tomorrow."
