"This might be really bad." Eve whispers to Merena

Merena looks at Eve with confusion

"Do you know him or something?" Merena asks

"I don't, but I know someone like him." Eve says

"Like him?" Merena replies while looking at the boy

Eve nods

"His name is Adam." Eve starts. "He can heal just as fast as him, and he also has that ridiculous physical strength."

"So, is there something we can do to beat him?" Merena asks while grabbing the sword that Eve is handing to her, which was the sword that was thrown at her

"Kenzo, our father, said that Adam's body naturally uses his arcane energy to accelerate his body healing speed." Eve explains. "It's the same for his strength. His muscles were naturally enhanced at birth by his arcane energy."

The boy walks up to them with his hand raised in the air

"I want to talk about what you just said." The boy says with interest

The girls point their swords at him

"Relax." He says with his hand raised in the air. "I don't want to fight anymore."

"All of a sudden?" Merena asks defensively. "Why?"

He slowly lowers his hands and smiles

"I'm more interested in the person you just talked about!" He says with a smile

Eve frowns strongly, and the boy notices

"Don't worry! I have no intention of hurting him." The boy says with a smile. "I'm just interested in meeting someone with a body similar to mine. I hear they call it Genovant."

Merena puts her sword back in its sheath, surprising Eve

"What are you doing?" Eve asks with anger

"We're both going to get eliminated if we fight him. He's faster, stronger, and he heals quicker." Merena says. "Eve, we can't win."

Eve looks at Merena, then looks at the boy who was looking at Merena. He notices Eve looking at him, then looks at her and smiles. She puts her sword back in its sheath and glares at him

"I don't trust you." Eve says with anger

He laughs

"I can understand that." He says after laughing. "I don't exactly have a trustworthy vibe for me. I heard you talking about the weird arcane energy spreading through the forest before I attacked you. Want me to tell you what is emitting it?"

"You know what it is?" Merena asks with curiosity

"Well, I've already felt this kind of arcane energy." The boy says while following Eve and Merena. "And it was in this very forest too!"

"What was it?" Merena asks

"A Djinn." The boy answers

"You met a Djinn?" Merena asks him. "I haven't seen one since the start of the exam."

"Well, I didn't actually meet it." The boy explains. "It entered my Sensus area, so for a bit, I was able to sense its arcane energy. The arcane energy from the Djinn and the arcane energy spreading in the forest have the same feeling to them."

"All this arcane energy belongs to a Djinn!?" Merena says with surprise. "How are we supposed to slay something that strong?"

The boy puts his hand behind his head and stares at the sky

"Hmmm... I actually don't think that this was supposed to happen." The boy mumbles

Eve moves her eyes to the side and looks at the boy

"You haven't introduced yourself." Merena says while looking at the boy. "I guess that means you're not a noble."

The boy shakes his head

"I'm not." He answers quickly. "My name is Gareth Elba, but you girls can call me Gar!"

"Sure, Gareth." Merena says while ignoring that last part

"Keep up, Gareth." Eve says while doing the same

Gareth laughs embarrassingly

Somewhere else in the forest, Adam kept on walking and stopped before a giant cave blocked by a tall and thick stone. The air surrounding the cave was cold, heavy, and had a dark feeling to it

"What's this?" Adam thought. "It's almost as if the air is pressing down on me."

Back in the teacher's room, panic had started to spread

"What's going on?" The violet-haired teacher says

What she was looking at was the monitor on which Adam could be seen, thanks to the camera feed. However, the monitor had gone blank right when he started approaching the cave. A sign that something happened to the camera that was following Adam. The man at the end of the table frowns with worry

"As the investigation team been dispatched?" He asks

The orange-haired woman turns around

"They have already left." She answers

Back in the forest, Adam slowly raises his hand and looks at the giant rock blocking the entrance of the cave. He puts his hand on the rock

"My body feels heavier." Adam thought. "The arcane energy is coming from behind this rock.... However, this arcane energy.... can I handle whatever is behind this rock?"

Adam takes his hand off the rock and draws his arm backward

"NO POINT IN THINKING TOO MUCH ABOUT IT! ALL I HAVE TO DO IS WIN!!!" Adam thought as he stopped his arm and started to swing towards the rock

Adam uses all his strength to punch the rock, and after a few seconds, multiple cracks appear on the rock until it explodes and falls apart. Suddenly, a cold and strong gust of wind blows him at him almost sending Adam flying backward at the same time. More importantly, the gust of wind that blows at him from the cave had arcane energy mixed in it which could only mean one thing

"I found it!" Adam thought with his hand on the handle of his sword

It only took a few seconds for the gust of wind to dissipate. Adam notices something moving within the cave and frowns to try to look at it.

"Just in case." Adam says. "Sensus."

Adam's eyes widen. He quickly tries to unsheathe his sword, but something grabs his face and throws him away. Adam flies and crashes into trees, a rock, and lands on the ground, where he throws up some blood. Whatever the thing that attacked him was, it started roaring

*ROOOOAAAAAR*

Its roar resonates throughout the entire forest. At the same time, it releases a powerful gust of wind mixed with arcane energy that spreads across the forest. Every Squire left in the forest had felt the arcane energy that immediately surrounded the forest after they heard the roar

Not too far from them, Noah and the others were also looking around until they heard the roar

"What powerful arcane energy." Noah says with a frown

"Seems like someone found the Djinn." Arlo says nervously

The four of them nod and start running. They all ran in the direction from which the gust of wind and roar came.

Somewhere else, Eve and the two others stopped walking as soon as they heard the roar

"Seems like someone found it." Gareth says with a nervous smile

"This arcane energy comes from one Djinn?" Merena says nervously. "How are we supposed to defeat it!?"

Eve turns around and looks at Gareth

"What did you mean when you said that this wasn't supposed to happen?" Eve asks

Merena turns around and looks at Gareth, who was walking behind them

"He said that?" She says with surprise since she hadn't heard him

Gareth smiles calmly

"Explain yourself." Merena says

"I guess you haven't studied anything on Djinns, huh?" Gareth says

"Get to the point." Eve says with growing anger

"Just like arch humans can grow stronger, Djinns can also do the same." Gareth says with a smile. "Well, we grow stronger while they evolve, and it seems like a Djinn has gone through that."

The sound of multiple collisions and the destruction following them resonates throughout the forest.

"Seems like someone met it too." Gareth says

Adam was on his knees, coughing blood due to his internal injuries. He raises his head and uses his sword as support to get up.

"Damn it! Because he was so fast, Sensus was basically useless! What do I do now?" Adam thought

He doesn't even get the time to think about what he should do next. Something approaches him at lightning speed and hits once more before he can even see it. The thing swings at him again, but this time Adam manages to dodge and take a few steps back

"So, this is a Djinn, huh." Adam said as he panted

Before him stood an unusual phenomenon. A being made of nothing more than dark red fire, from head to toe. The fire itself had the shape of an odd beast; truly odd. Its body resembled that of a wolf, but standing on its hind legs; however, its entire body appeared as an inconsistent fire. However, its face had no features except for the two x's and the crack, which seemed to serve as its eyes and mouth.

"This is a Djinn." Adam thought as he looked at the odd being in front of him. "A living being made of fire that exists for nothing more than destruction. It's fast, I need to make the first move!"

Adam grabs his sword and dashes towards the Djinn. He gets there unnoticed and tries to cut it down, but the blade passes right through its body

"What!?" Adam says as his sword passes through the Djinn's body

The Djinn turns around and sees Noah. As soon as he does, he throws a punch and sends Noah flying a few miles

"My sword passed through his body, but he was able to touch me!?" Adam thought confused as he flew back. "Why? What's going on?"

He falls into a river and gets his head out of the water.

"Adam?" Someone says behind him

He turns around and sees Eve, Merena, and Gareth

"This is... Adam?" Merena asks with flushed cheeks

Gareth looks at Adam with a smile

"Well, would you look at that." Gareth thought as he looked at Adam with a smile. "Looks like things are going to be quite interesting from now on."

Adam quickly gets up since he was still sitting in the water. He tightens his grasp on his sword handle

"I almost let go of my sword." Adam thought. "If I lose it, things could get bad."

"Adam." Eve says while jumping into the river. "What happened!? Why did you just land here out of nowhere!?"

Gareth jumps into the river and lands next to Adam

"Must be because of that." He says while grabbing the handle of his sword

Eve looks in front of her and suddenly, the Djinn that Adam was fighting appears out of nowhere. Frozen by fear, Merena and Eve were stuck in place and couldn't move. The Djinn swings at Merena, but Adam gets in front of it and blocks it with his sword. He is sent backward, collides with Merena, and both are sent flying a few steps backward. They safely land on the ground without taking much damage. At the same time, the Djinn leaps at Eve and swings its arm at her; however, she manages to block it. The power behind the simple attack of the Djinn still manages to send her flying, and she lands in a small pond a few meters away. Gareth took the opportunity in front of him and swung his sword at the Djinn, but just like when Adam attacked it, the blade passed through

"Shit." Gareth says with a nervous smile when the Djinn turns around to look at him

The Djinn swings its arm at Gareth and sends him flying a few meters away. He lands in the river but quickly gets up. This battle was no battle. It was almost as if it was getting rid of the mosquitoes bothering it

"How the hell are we supposed to kill something like this?" Gareth says with a nervous smile

Adam gets up with the help of Merena

"Why can it touch us, but we can't touch it?" Adam says with a frown. "If I don't figure that out, then I won't be able to kill it."

"That's because its body is made of arcane energy." Merena says

Adam looks at Merena

"What do you mean?" Adam asks

The Djinn appears in front of them and throws a punch at the two. Merena pushes Adam to the side while she jumps on the other side. They both land on the ground but quickly get up

"THE BODY OF A DJINN IS MADE OF ARCANE ENERGY THAT LOOKS LIKE FIRE!!!" Merena yells. "UNLESS YOU DESTROY ITS CORE, THEN IT WON'T DIE!!! AND TO DAMAGE ITS BODY YOU NEED TO HIT IT WITH ARCANE ENERGY!!!"

Eve and Gareth quickly dash toward the Djinn with their swords drawn, ready to attack it.

"Using arcane energy to attack?" Eve thought as she closed in on the Djinn

"HOW IN THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO THAT!?!?" Gareth yells

He swings his sword towards the hip of the Djinn, but the blades pass through again

"Didn't hit the core!" He thought with a nervous smile

The Djinn uses its leg to hit Gareth in the stomach. From trees, Seleph, Byron, Arlo, and Noah jump down at the Djinn with their sword raised. While they all fall, the four of them slash the Djinn at the same time, but none of them manages to hit the Djinn's core.

*ROOOAAAAR*

The Djinn roar, and with that, a wave of his fire-like arcane energy is unleashed that blasts away the four. Adam appears out of nowhere in front of the Djinn

"I saw it." He says with his eyes wide open. "Only for a few seconds, but that was more than enough."

He stabs the Djinn, and the sword travels through the Djinn's body. A hole appears and reveals a red bead. Adam's sword contacts the bead, shocking everyone present.

"It's over." He says
