The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system

Chapter 260: Jin Kang's secret

Zhang An looked a bit flustered by the return of a question which she apparently wasn't too keen on answering.

Alix decided to come to her rescue because Jin Kang could be like a dog with a bone at times. When an idea was stuck in her mind, she would keep pulling until she got an answer. And if that answer was not what she wanted to hear, she continued digging until she found something that soothed her mouth.

While she and Holea were used to this kind of thing, Zhang An was not.

"Stop questioning her as if you are a detective." Alix said. She glanced curiously at Jin Kang. There was something she was curious about which she needed answers to.

So, while Zhang An took a deep breath filled with relief, Alix asked Jin Kang, "Why don't we discuss how you know my husband's friend, the elite young master Du Fuzi?"

When the question was asked, Jin Kang had just buried her head in a glass of coca cola that was half empty. A large gulp of soda went down her throat, the wrong way and Jin Kang started coughing. Holea gently slapped her back in form of assistance.

"Breathe..." she spoke gently.

Alix bent forward and wiped Jin Kang's mouth. She also placed a tissue over Jin Kang's nose because the other was sniveling.

"Did the soda go all the way up your nose?" she asked her. "Wow, I thought things like this only happen in cartoons."

Jin Kang glared at Alix and raised her hand as if she was about to punch her. She did punch the air before withdrawing her hand.

"Hey, stop teasing her." Holea told Scarlet.

Alix sat down and sipped what was left of her own soda slowly as she waited for Jin Kang to finally settle down. She had no intentions of withdrawing the question which she had asked earlier. Whatever or however Jin Kang knew Du Fuzi, she wanted to know.

When Jin Kang could finally talk again, Alix smiled like a dedicated hunter that had been waiting for her prey to poke its head out of the bush.

"Sooo....." she said slowly.

"What have you heard?" Jin Kang asked her.

She reached for what had remained of her soda, recalled that it almost choked her to death and put the glass back down. Her eyes went back to Alix while her right foot broke into a little nervous dance, tapping down on the ground slowly.

Holea looked down and noticed the dancing foot. She knew then that Jin Kang was about to lie her ass off if need be. This made her wonder as well if she needed to step in and stop Alix or go ahead and see where this was leading.

"My hubby said that you and his friend know each other. He asked me how and I had no answer for him so I am asking you as well." Alix told her.

"It's nothing." Jin Kang said sharply

Alix poked her head forward and looked at her friend with doubtful eyes. "You are lying."

In a surprising turn of events, Jin Kang admitted the lie. "Yes, you are right, I am lying."

"So what's the big secret?" Holea asked her.

Jin Kang sighed and she said with irritation, "Do you remember the rich jerk I met that scratched my car? It's him."

"Du Fuzi is the drunk rich handsome jerk!" Alix exclaimed.

"I haven't said handsome." Jin Kang hurriedly defended herself.

Unlike the other two, Zhang An did not know the full story so she was using the bits and pieces which were being revealed to glue it together. Who she did however know, was Du Fuzi. She also knew with certainty that if Jin Kang for some reason lost her mind and decided to involve herself with him, she would end up on the painful end of a broken heart.

Against her better senses, she decided to offer a warning to her new friend. "Sister Jin, I know that we don't know each other well but whatever you are thinking of doing, "Don't do it Jin Kang."

"Do what?" Jin Kang asked.

"Don't date him." Zhang An replied. It might have been presumptuous of her to assume that Jin Kang was interested in Du Fuzi but most of the women in her circle did consider dating him and some went through with it. It never ended happily for them all.

Alix and Holea looked at Jin Kang curiously. Both had one question on their minds. Was Jin Kang interested in dating Du Fuzi?

"Say something." Holea nudged Jin Kang's arm and told her.

Jin Kang had been confused momentarily. She had no idea why Zhang An had jumped to that kind of conclusion but it was false. She was not foolish enough to date a man like Du Fuzi.

She held her hands up hoping that they would all relax and halt their wild imaginations. "Guys, I know that I do stupid things at times but even I am not that crazy. Who doesn't know Du Fuzi's reputation? I am not so foolish to offer myself up as his next three month project."

That was all Holea needed to hear in order to lose interest in the topic. Alix on the other hand was more curious.

"Aren't you tempted at all Jin Jin? He is handsome, well off, physically appealing and he treats his girlfriend's really well before ending the relationship. In a way, dating a guy like him for three months is surely better than dating a man like my last ex for three years."

Holea's hand moved faster than her mouth and she smacked Alix on the back of her head. "Are you trying to tempt her?"

Alix winced and rubbed the area where Holea had hit her. Staring resentfully at Holea, she said, "I am not trying to tempt her. I am just wondering why she is not tempted at all when he is actually her ideal type of man."

Once Alix mentioned Jin Kang's type of man, Holea's head turned so fast to Jin Kang with piercing curiosity. Indeed, Du Fuzi was Jin Kang's type in so many ways. Why was she acting so uninterested as if he was not appealing at all?

"Also, why would Caishen ask me about you if Du Fuzi has not mentioned you? Speak the truth; have you met up with Du Fuzi again?"

Jin Kang looked like a deer caught in headlights that had nowhere to run as she was trapped between the inquisitive eyes of her two friends. She folded her lips and refused to look at them. Her secrets would have to be tortured out of her forcefully.

"Ho! She has actually clammed up." Alix exclaimed.

Now, Jin Kang was more suspicious than ever. She was surely hiding something that she didn't want them to know.

Zhang An, decided to come to Jin Kang's rescue. She had only been in this similar position a while back and she had been just as unwilling to talk. Granted, Jin Kang was the one questioning her when she was in that position.

"Guys, we are going to be late for my brother's last fan meeting. We should hurry otherwise the doors of the venue will be closed."

Just like that, Alix and Holea spared Jin Kang. But they all knew, this was far off from being over.
