The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system

Chapter 259: Making a new friend.

The day after the TFK winter jewelry show, she went out with her sister-in-law. Grabbing lunch with Zhang An was not something Alix ever thought she would volunteer to do someday. But, somehow the younger woman was treating her as if she was her very best friend lately. Everything that occurred in the Zhang house, she would report faithfully to Alix.

They also shared a mutual dislike of Billi, which is why they had somewhat become closer.

Alix did not take Zhang An far, she took her to Holea's café because her two friends would be meeting them as well. When they arrived, her two friends were already there, sitting at the table which they always occupied when they hung out as three.

"Over there." Alix pointed the table out to Zhang An.

Zhang An paused her feet nervously and she tugged on the long thick black jacket which Alix had worn over simple jeans and a white shirt.

"Are you sure that your friends will like me?"

She thought that maybe she was imagining it but Alix could detect some fear, doubts and hesitation if Zhang An's voice. She looked back at her and studied her face closely, thinking that there was no way this rich young lady was nervous. She was Zhang An, the fierce Zhang An that even famous celebrities feared. Other rich young ladies turned the opposite way when they saw her coming because she was that dreadful. What was she so nervous about?

Alix decided to attempt and tease her a little bit. "They don't need to like you, they just need to tolerate you." She told her.

Zhang An pouted and danced a little with her shoulders. 'Older sister." She whined.

"Does it matter if they like you?" Alix asked her.

Zhang An nodded and a shy look came over her face for a bit. "They are your friends. I want them to like me."

She had familiarized herself with the history of Alix and her friends. Their friendship was genuine, simple and effortless. She couldn't point out any friends like that in her social circle. Every time she met up with them, it was a shopping and spending money mission.

Her mother had told her to get better friends and who better than her sister-in-law and her friends. She was seeking to make positive changes in her life after everything that had befallen their family.

Alix smiled at the young woman and took her hand, dragging her towards her friends.

"Hey guys, look who I brought? It's my sister-in-law" she called out even before they sat down.

Jin Kang was ready with a smile for Zhang An while Holea maintained her usual neutral look.

"Hi." Jin Knag cheerfully greeted.

"Hi." Zhang An replied.

She extended her hand forward for a handshake which startled Jin Kang. "Oh, a handshake, how formal. I would prefer a fist bump."

Jin Kang folded her left hand, formed a fist and waited patiently for Zhang An to bump one of her own fists against it.

"Come on girl Zhang." She said.

"Girl Zhang..." Zhang An said unsurely.

Jin Kang nodded. "You are the female version of our friend's husband and you happen to be the only girl among the Zhang men hence, girl Zhang." Her eyes lit up and she said, "Ooouh, should I add rich and make it rich girl Zhang."

"Leave her alone Jin Kang." Holea peeked at her friend and warned her softly.

"But I am trying to make a new friend." Jin Kang whined.

"And annoy your old ones." Holea told her.

"It's okay, I don't mind." Zhang An told Holea. She crossed her legs, showing off her rather expensive mini leather boots. "I am the only daughter of the Zhang family, I am rich and I am a girl. Technically I am rich girl Zhang."

Jin Kang dragged her chair closer to Zhang An and she smiled victoriously. "I like her. She is honest and not ashamed of who she is."

"You just want someone that is going to side often with you." Alix told Jin Kang.

Jin Kang looked at Zhang An and told her, "These two are always ganging up on me. It will be nice to balance the books."

"Isn't it balance the boat?" Alix asked her.

"No, books count too. Like accounts, not physical books." Jin Kang explained.

"The food is here." A very happy and hungry Jin Kang shared. She leaned her head toward Zhang An and said, "It's always fried rice and chicken on Sunday. I hope you don't mind that we won't be giving you a chance to make a choice for yourself. You do eat rice and chicken, right?"

Alix and Holea could not believe the last question which Jin Kang had just asked Zhang An. What did she mean?

"How can she not eat rice and chicken?" Alix asked, laughing goofily.

"Maybe she is drunk." Holea suggested.

Laughing, Jin Kang shrugged as well and said, "Hey, she grew up rich. She could be used to eating foie grass, caviar, wagyu beef and other things like that. It's polite to ask, I am just being polite." She spoke with emphasis, defending her unusual question.

Zhang An shrugged. Even though it was weird, if politeness was the reason for asking then it was not a problem. "Fried rice and chicken is okay."

"See, she thinks it's okay for me to ask." Self-righteously, in a braggart tone, Jin Kang celebrated and waved her hands around in the air. "See, this is why I have always thought that our little merry band of three needed one more person. She will fit in with us just right."

This was the kind of thing Zhang An wanted to hear and she smiled happily.

They distributed the food and drinks amongst themselves then started digging into their meal as they talked about random things. Zhang An mostly listened as the three friends talked, contributing little every once in a while.

"Hey, these two are married." Jin Kang suddenly brought up Zhang An's relationship status. "What about you? Will we be Friday night have fun friends or will you be rushing back to a boyfriend or husband like these two."

"She is dating." Alix answered on Zhang An's behalf.

"No I am not." Zhang An blurted out rather too quickly that it came off sounding more suspicious than she intended.

Alix looked at her sister-in-law skeptically. But it was not necessarily her business so she didn't push and turned to Holea instead with her hand held out. "Hot sauce me Holea."

Holea wanted to groan her disapproval as she passed the hot sauce to Alix. "Why can't you speak normally? Other people say please pass me the hot sauce. You are the director of a school now. What are you teaching those children?"

Jin Kang giggled and told Holea. "To curse like toddlers."

"What the fruit!" Zhang An said and she started laughing.

The others also joined in because they were all familiar with Alix's unusual cursing style. In truth, they did not have a problem with it but it was simply too ridiculous. No sane adult person cursed like Alix.

Pretty soon, Jin Kang came back around to Zhang An's dating life. "So, girl Zhang, yay or nay on the dating?"
