The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system

Chapter 254: Greed for everything.

Critical hit. Critical hit.

They all saw those words and then an energy bar showing what was remaining of the dark wizard's health appeared. One percent was all that was remaining.

They were now close, so close that Alix could taste the victory on her tongue.

"Cut him apart before others get here." Alix yelled.

Someone from their guild had to land the final blow. The dark wizard was already knocking on death's door and they had to finish him quickly. If the others joined the fight and one of them struck the final blow, all they had done would be for nothing.

"Eviscerate." Hero yelled.

Scarlet did not know what kind of spell that was but she saw blood flowing out of the dark wizard's eyes. She could still see that one percent and it irked her. Why the hell was he not dead?

She turned her fingers into dragon's claws and chop the head off. While it was flying through the air, the rest of his body was separated into three pieces.

"Others are here, rip the heart out." The system told her.

It's voice was high pitched and it practically screeched the words out. She dashed to where his chest had fallen, and pushed her hand into the chest. With the claws of the dragon to aid her, it was easy to rip into the chest and pull out the heart which she crushed immediately.

Still, that one percent did not disappear which further confused her. The only momentary relief she had was that the newly arrived players were just as confused as she was.

"Got it, dark magic is keeping it alive. You need to cleanse it and set it on fire." The system told her.

She flew over to Hero that was flying back towards the others with the head of the dark wizard in tow. "Hero, holy light cleansing." she yelled.

Hero tossed the head to Dark death and she chanted a spell immediately. She placed her hands on the heart which was still weirdly beating. The faster she chanted, the faster and harder it beat and then, it stopped all of a sudden. She dropped it down on the ground and Alix opened her mouth. Dragons flames came pouring it out and the heart was burnt up.

Finally, the one percent disappeared, confirming that the dark wizard was truly dead.

Alix separated herself from her dragon and she sat down on the floor. Her energy bar was at twenty six percent, showing how much she had put in fighting the dark wizard. The others were not much better than she was. Bichu collapsed and slept on the floor while Dark death found a chair to sit.

Hero, the most active one started searching through the room immediately.

"Whatever you find, we are sharing it equally." In a lazy voice, Dark death did not forget to demand for a share of the goodies.

The loot would not appear unless the body of the dark wizard disappeared so in the meanwhile, they could take anything in the tower if they wished.

The tower itself would disappear soon enough. The world would remain open to gamers but the rewards would not be as great now that the level had been cleared.

Congratulations Badass guild on completing the final task of the second world. Everyone else, thank you for participating.

It was not unexpected when the game made the announcement, this time round it was not just a visual announcement but a verbal one as well. Every player saw and heard it vividly from every corner where they were. Those who were thanked for participating couldn't tell if the game developers were being genuine or simply mocking them.

"Woo-hoo." Bichu cheered weakly.

Alix sat up and looked where the body had been. It was gone, and in it's place a chest the size of a medium sized wardrobe. She collected the entire thing, putting it away in her bag.

"Let's go to the guild and divide the loot." She told the others.

Bichu and Dark death stood up. Alix got a teleportation scroll. However, unwilling to leave behind the treasures in the tower, Hero seemed reluctant.

"Let's go, leave something for the others." Alix told her.

The system had already scanned the tower and there was nothing more valuable than what they had received. If they took even the little treasure in the tower, the others would perceive their guild negatively. Like Hero said, the game was always changing so you never know what could happen. This was a way of buying them all some goodwill.

"Attention all players, the virtual gaming world will be temporary unavailable for sixty eight hours ahead of the opening of the third world. You have one hour left and then you will all be forced to exit."

This announcement was rather sudden and the beginning of an actual countdown added a sense of urgency to everyone's plans.

"Let's move." Hero abandoned all hesitation and held Alix's hand.

They disappeared from the one place other players were rushing into and went to their guild headquarters. Little Long and the other beast avatars were handed off to a caretaker for grooming and feeding.

Dark death had arranged a common lounge for them to hang out and hold their meetings and that's where they gathered. They sat around a table and Alix revealed the treasure chest.

She sat it on the table, in the middle for them all to see.

"As you can all see, it's sealed. There is an instruction that we must place all our guild identifications on the chest for it to open."

Four ID's were placed on top of the chest and they heard a cracking sound. It opened up like a present, unwrapping itself and then the contents started being revealed. They still had to pick them out, one at a time.

"Hoo, there are too many things." Dark death whined. On top of the things which they had just identified, there were jewels too and gem stones.

Those Alix was used to by now and they didn't excite her as much as they used to. She wanted the any skill you wish for spell book, if she could have two of them then it would be even better. She also wanted the eye of tomorrow. It was a special skill which allowed one to see a day ahead.

With it, you could see what tomorrow would like like before it arrived.

She also wanted a time reset crystal. It could be used to go back ten minutes in time. It had a limited ten time use only though.

Bone crushing powder, solo sword skill, healing crystals, she wanted them all.

She groaned and put her head down, crying pitifully. "Guys, I think I am too greedy. I want a bit of everything. Even the beating heart which I don't need because I already have a beating heart."

She was not alone in her greed, the others were feeling just the same. They had limited time to decide what they would be giving up.
