Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Even Shen Gong Cannot Save Him

Su Yu's expression grew anxious as she hurriedly rose and made her way to her grandfather's room.

Qin Fei followed closely behind her, and the two arrived at the door together.

Just as they were about to enter, Old Wang extended his hand to block Qin Fei, shaking his head, "You shouldn't go in."

Qin Fei, puzzled, asked, "Why not?"

"Mr. Su has never liked you. Given that he's unwell now, do you really want to provoke him further?" Old Wang said with a half-smile.

Qin Fei frowned slightly at this.

It was one thing for the Su family to treat him coldly, but even a servant looked down on him.

"Wait here for a moment," Su Yu said after a moment of hesitation.

"I'm sorry, Miss Su, but you shouldn't go in either," Old Wang said, stepping in front of her.

He explained with a smile, "Since your marriage, Mr. Su has been reluctant to see you. Given his current condition, it's best you wait outside."

"You!" Su Yu's face flushed with anger. "Why shouldn't I see my own grandfather?"

"I'm sorry, but we're looking out for his health," Old Wang said without flinching. "If you must blame someone, blame your choice of husband."

Su Yu bit her lip in anger, her face flushed, but she felt powerless.

Qin Fei wasn't shameless enough to insist on entering. Since they didn't want to see him, there was no need for him to force his way in.

He gently tugged at Su Yu's arm, smiling, "Let's wait here for a bit; everything will be fine."

Sounds of shouting and sobbing came from inside the room.

After about four or five minutes, Su Zichang rushed out, panic written across his face.

"Where's Shen Gong? Has he arrived?" he grasped Old Wang's arm, frantically asking.

"Not yet; I'll call and check," Old Wang replied, taking out his phone to dial Shen Gong.

A few minutes later, Old Wang's expression turned grim as he said, "Shen Gong says he has a patient right now and won't be able to leave for about half an hour."

"What patient is so important? He needs to come treat my father first!" Su Zichang shouted angrily.

Old Wang awkwardly replied, "You should know that to Shen Gong, all patients are equal, regardless of their status."

Su Zichang's face turned ashen, gritting his teeth as he said, "No, he must come immediately."

"Let me go in and take a look," Su Yu said as she stood up.

Despite her grandfather's negative attitude toward her, he was still her grandfather, and she couldn't help but feel a connection.

Su Zichang frowned and said, "Aren't you studying medicine?"

Su Yu nodded, "Yes."

"That's useless; if Doctor Qi couldn't help, what can you do? Do you think Miss Su's medical skills exceed Doctor Qi's?" Old Wang couldn't help but scoff.

"Enough with the talk; let's just let her try!" Su Zichang waved his hand, indicating for Old Wang to step aside.

Ignoring the objections, Su Yu hurried into the room.

Qin Fei followed her, but as they approached the door, both Old Wang and Su Zichang extended their hands to block him.

"You can't go in; if the old master sees you, he might die of anger," Su Zichang said, his face dark.

Qin Fei was about to nod in agreement when Su Yu suddenly said, "Qin Fei is my assistant; I need him to help."

"A useless person, what can he help with?" Su Zichang grumbled.

Though he said this, he still stepped aside to let them pass.

Qin Fei entered the room alongside Su Yu and saw an elderly man lying pale on a traditional Chinese bed.

Surrounding him were numerous descendants, with Su Ziping and his wife at the forefront.

Qin Fei glanced around and noted that the old master's disease palace had turned a deep black, indicating a grave illness. It would be quite difficult to turn this around.

"What are you two doing in here?" Su Zhengzhen immediately shouted, his voice high-pitched.

"Don't you know grandfather doesn't like Qin Fei? Why did you bring him here now?" Su Zhengzhen scolded, pointing an accusing finger at Qin Fei.

The old master lay coughing violently, occasionally spitting out blood.

Upon seeing Qin Fei, he struggled to point at him and yelled, "You, get out! Who let you in? I don't want to see you!"

Qin Fei felt a pang of embarrassment; he hadn't expected the old master to react so vehemently.

The owner of this body was indeed pitiable, with no friends or family, facing ridicule everywhere—living like this was hardly worth it.

"Grandpa, I'm here to help you," Su Yu said, her voice tinged with grievance.

"I don't need you, ungrateful child, to help me! I told you to get a divorce; why didn't you listen? You've brought shame to the Su family!" the old master roared.

Qin Fei stood silently to the side, feeling the awkwardness intensify.

"Did you hear that? Grandpa told you to get out," Su Zhengzhen took this opportunity to push Qin Fei, smirking, "You useless waste, don't irritate grandpa, understood?"

"You! I warn you, you better divorce Su Yu immediately, or I'll haunt you as a ghost!" the old master scolded, pointing at Qin Fei in anger.

After saying this, the old master suddenly convulsed, collapsing back onto the bed, followed by a spurt of dark, brown blood.

"Dad!"

"Grandpa!"

The surrounding family members quickly rushed to his side.

"You useless fool, get out of here!" Old Wang entered, his face dark.

"Qin Fei, you should leave now," Su Ziping said awkwardly.

"Quickly call Shen Gong!" Su Zichang shouted.

Qin Fei glanced at the old master lying on the bed and couldn't help but shake his head, "Even if Shen Gong comes, he won't be able to save him."

"Shut your mouth; who are you cursing?" Su Zhengzhen rolled up his sleeves, pointing at Qin Fei and yelling.

"If Shen Gong can't save him, can you?" Su Zichang scoffed.

Qin Fei scratched his head and replied, "I can certainly give it a try."

"Hahaha!" Laughter erupted in the room.

"Qin Fei, have you lost your mind?"

"I think you're up to no good, trying to take this chance to harm the old master!"

"Enough, Little Fei, don't mess around. If you can't help, just wait outside," Su Ziping whispered.

Clearly, they were intentionally ridiculing Qin Fei, and it was surprising that he even considered agreeing to their demands.

Even Su Ziping couldn't help but feel a surge of anger.

"Get this useless person out of here!" the old master shouted hoarsely.

Qin Fei's expression turned icy; even a clay figurine has its temper, let alone him.

"Nobody else can save him but me," Qin Fei coldly declared, turning to leave.

"What are you bragging about at a time like this?" Su Zichang exploded with rage, advancing toward him, "Do you think that just because you've ingratiated yourself with the Li family, you can act arrogantly in the Su family? With the Li family backing you, you think you can misbehave?"

"Don't waste your breath on him; just kick him out!" the old master gritted his teeth.

Qin Fei shot him a glance, saying, "Do you know why the old master Li respects me so much?"

"Oh? Did you save his life or something?" Su Zhengzhen couldn't help but laugh mockingly.

Just as Qin Fei was about to respond, Old Wang suddenly shouted, "Shen Gong is here! Shen Gong has arrived!"

"Great!" Upon hearing this, everyone sighed in relief.

Shen Gong was the most renowned traditional Chinese doctor in the area, known for reviving many patients whom hospitals had given up on.

Su Zhengzhen, Su Zichang, and others hurried out to welcome him, and soon Shen Gong and Shen Hongyi entered, carrying their medical kits.

"Shen Gong, please save my father!" Su Zichang pleaded with a pained expression.

However, Shen Gong's gaze fell on Qin Fei.

"Young Friend Qin, what brings you here? Were you also invited to come see the doctor?" Shen Gong asked with a smile.

Su Zichang thought Shen Gong was mocking them and couldn't help but shout, "Qin Fei, get out of here now!"

Shen Gong shook his head, smiling wryly, "With Young Friend Qin here, I hardly need to bother."
