Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Zhao Ya's Trouble
Han Wei was immediately taken aback by the revelation. He hurriedly explained, "I thought he was lying! I didn't know he knew you!"
"Fool!" Song Wencheng scoffed coldly. "You don't need to come to work tomorrow!"
This statement caused the expressions of everyone present to change dramatically.
Especially Lao Yu, who had gone through great lengths to help Han Wei get into the transportation department; if he were dismissed because of this, he would truly be devastated.
"Qin Fei, let's go," Song Wencheng said with a smile, turning to Qin Fei.
At that moment, Lao Yu quickly handed the jade pendant back to Qin Fei, awkwardly saying, "Qin Fei, I've known your dad for a long time. I was just confused earlier; please don't take it to heart."
Qin Fei smiled and, after thinking for a moment, accepted the pendant.
It wasn't that he particularly valued the pendant; it was just that it had been infused with blessings, and tossing it aside would be a waste.
"Cough, cough." Su Ziping cleared his throat, looking rejuvenated compared to his previous demeanor.
He patted Qin Fei on the shoulder and said, "Qin Fei, what Uncle Yu said is correct. Since our relationship is so good, we should help each other out when needed."
"Exactly! Besides, young people make mistakes all the time. As parents, we should be more understanding," Zhao Ya chimed in, echoing Lao Yu's words.
Qin Fei understood that although Lao Yu and Su Ziping liked to compare statuses, they were ultimately friends. Otherwise, Han Wei could have easily called the police.
Lao Yu was displeased but dared not say anything further, merely following along with the conversation.
Qin Fei smiled and held the jade in his hand, then said, "Director Song, Han Wei didn't mean any harm; after all, he didn't know the circumstances."
Song Wencheng hadn't intended to fire Han Wei; he had only said that to avoid embarrassing Qin Fei.
He then said sternly, "Since Qin Fei has spoken on your behalf, we'll let this slide this time, but no more next time, understood?"
Han Wei let out a sigh of relief, repeatedly thanking him. "Thank you, Director Song! Thank you!"
"You should thank Qin Fei," Song Wencheng said.
Hearing this, Han Wei quickly grabbed Qin Fei's arm, gratitude evident on his face. "I insulted you earlier, yet you still helped me. I feel ashamed."
Qin Fei chuckled. "It's nothing; after all, my dad just asked for leniency."
Su Ziping beamed at this comment, feeling incredibly proud of his son-in-law.
"Dad, keep this jade pendant with you. It's good for your health," Qin Fei said, handing it to Su Ziping.
"Okay!" Su Ziping replied, quite pleased. The more he looked at Qin Fei, the more he liked him.
"Qin Fei, let's not waste any more time. We should hurry," Captain Zhang urged from the side.
Qin Fei nodded, and after bidding farewell to Su Ziping, he left the restaurant.
"Captain Zhang, what's going on?" Qin Fei asked in the car.
Captain Zhang sighed and said, "A while ago, my wife suddenly fainted, and since then, she has been feeling cold and has nightmares every night."
"Has she seen a doctor?" Qin Fei inquired.
"Yes, the doctor said it's due to weak qi and blood, and that she's overworked and stressed, but that's nonsense. My wife hasn't worked since we got married; she goes to bed by nine every night. Where is that coming from?" Captain Zhang said helplessly.
"I was thinking of finding a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, and then I thought of Shen Hongyi from Baicaotang, but since Old Song mentioned you, I took the liberty to seek you out," Captain Zhang continued.
"How long has this condition lasted?" Qin Fei asked.
Captain Zhang counted on his fingers and said, "It's been over half a month, and there hasn't been any improvement."
Qin Fei nodded. "Let me check the specifics after I see her."
The car sped along, arriving at a residential complex.
Captain Zhang led Qin Fei to their room, and as soon as they entered, Qin Fei felt a chilling atmosphere.
On the bed lay a woman in her forties, wrapped in a blanket. Her complexion was pale, devoid of any color.
"This is my wife, Liu Xin. This is Mr. Qin Fei," Captain Zhang introduced quickly.
Liu Xin struggled to sit up, wanting to greet them, but Qin Fei waved his hand. "Mrs. Zhang, no need to be polite. Please lie down."
He sat at Liu Xin's bedside and took a moment to observe her appearance.
From her appearance, it was clear she had some minor ailments, confirming the hospital's diagnosis was not incorrect.
However, a qi deficiency should not last this long, and the symptoms were far too exaggerated.
"How is she?" Captain Zhang asked nervously from the side.
Qin Fei said, "Captain Zhang, your wife does have some symptoms, and I'll write you a prescription for some herbal medicine to help her recover."
"Okay, okay," Captain Zhang nodded eagerly.
"But that's not the root cause," Qin Fei added, looking somewhat embarrassed as he hesitated to speak.
Captain Zhang frowned, sensing Qin Fei's difficulty. "Just say it directly."
"Well, to find the root cause, your wife will probably need to lie in a bath," Qin Fei said with a wry smile.
At this, not only did Captain Zhang's expression change, but even Song Wencheng frowned.
After all, Liu Xin was Captain Zhang's wife. The thought of her lying naked in a bath with another man watching was unacceptable.
"Your wife's life palace is dark and cloudy, also referred to as the glabella appearing dark. Additionally, the lines on her palms, particularly the sun line and life line, overlap, indicating the issue goes beyond mere illness," Qin Fei hastily explained. "To find the root cause, we need to use some unconventional methods."
"I can wear a blindfold, and you just need to follow my instructions," Qin Fei suggested, coming up with a compromise.
Captain Zhang gritted his teeth and nodded. "Okay, I trust you!"
"Do you have a bathtub at home?" Qin Fei asked.
"Yes, I'll carry her over now," Captain Zhang said quickly.
Once they arrived at the bathtub, Qin Fei used his fingertips to press on Liu Xin's Shen Ting acupoint, forcing her to calm down.
Then, he bit his own finger and let some blood drip into the water.
"Doctor Sang, may I borrow your needle for a moment?" Qin Fei asked.
Although reluctant, Sang Guoxing had no choice but to comply.
After receiving the needle, Qin Fei closed his eyes and gently inserted it into Liu Xin's Shen Ting acupoint, channeling a stream of green energy into her body.
Moments later, blood began to spurt out!
"How can so much blood come from such a small wound?" Captain Zhang exclaimed nervously.
Qin Fei ignored him, allowing the blood to flow into the water.
As soon as the blood touched the water, it turned the entire bathtub black.
"Captain Zhang, could you check if the water in the bathtub is black?" Since Qin Fei was wearing a blindfold, he could only ask Captain Zhang.
"Y-yes, it's black!" Captain Zhang stammered.
"Then it's right," Qin Fei smiled. "You can get your wife dressed now."
After a flurry of activity, Qin Fei removed the blindfold and pulled back the curtain.
Outside the curtain, Sang Guoxing and Zhang Xue were anxiously waiting.
When they saw the inky water in the bathtub, their expressions changed drastically.
"What's going on here?" Zhang Xue asked, pulling on Qin Fei's arm.
Qin Fei felt irritated by Zhang Xue's attitude, so he ignored her and turned to Captain Zhang. "Just wait a moment."
No sooner had he spoken than the water in the bathtub began to boil, bubbles surfacing and rising rapidly.
"Just as I thought," Qin Fei couldn't help but sneer.
Clearly, Liu Xin had been subjected to some sort of dark manipulation, as if someone had attempted to use sorcery to turn her into a vessel.
"Whoosh!" An invisible black mist surged forth from the bubbles in the bathtub.
Qin Fei paid it no mind, allowing the black mist to swirl around the bathroom.
Soon, the black mist collided forcefully with the mirror on the wall.
"Ah, so it's here! No wonder I couldn't find it," Qin Fei furrowed his brow. He reached out, and the black mist began to struggle fiercely before being forcefully sucked into Qin Fei's body.
"What's happening?" Captain Zhang asked, rushing forward.
Qin Fei pointed to the mirror and asked, "Was this mirror installed recently?"
Captain Zhang thought for a moment and replied, "It was installed about a month ago. Why?"
"Let's take it down and have a look," Qin Fei instructed.
Captain Zhang didn't hesitate; he quickly grabbed a stool and smashed the mirror.
As the mirror shattered, a piece of yellow paper fell to the ground.
The yellow paper, soaked in dark red blood, emitted a strong, pungent odor that quickly filled the room.
Everyone instinctively covered their noses, and Sang Guoxing even started to retch.
