Beta Michael left his quarters in the pack house with Elijah, and make their way to Alpha Thane's office. They walked hands in hands and Beta Michael couldn't help himself and kept glancing at Elijah who was wearing his cloth, He marveled at how Elijah could looked sexy in his clothes, and how the fabric hugged his body in all the right places as if the clothes were made specially for him, the memory of their kiss earlier popped up in his mind with the image of Elijah naked body. He quickly shake his head and tried to clear his mind and focus on how to save Elijah's life first.

Despite his attraction to Elijah, Beta Michael's mind was also troubled and filled with worry. He was afraid that maybe the pack healers wouldn't find a cure to the poison in Elijah's body. He didn't want to think about what might happen if they failed to get Elijah the antidote. He just can't think it .

Beta Michael could feel his anxiety growing as they nearly reached Alpha thane's office ,He knew that Alpha Thane would do everything in his power to find a cure, but he couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty that had settled in his stomach.

Elijah, sensing his mate tension, reached out and took his hand. "Hey, it's going to be okay, I won't die , okay"

Beta Michael looked at Elijah, and squeezed his hand gently trying to convey his appreciation without words.

They got to Alpha thane office, and the guard at the door bowed at beta Micheal, seeing the duo holding hands the guard looked at Elijah skeptically not knowing what to do or how to greet him.

Seeing the confused look on the guard face Elijah smile and nodded first, acknowledging the guard , the man quickly follow suit nodding back at Elijah.

Beta Micheal knocked on the door and wait for Alpha thane permission to enter, he squeezed Elijah's hand again and took in a deep breath ready to face whatever lay ahead.

Alpha Thane looked up from his desk as beta Micheal and Elijah entered his office , his eyes narrowing as he took in Elijah's appearance. "Ah, you must be Elijah, I see you're looking a bit better, I have a couple of questions for you and I hope you'll answer me truthfully but first let see what we can do to get that poison out of your system."

Elijah bowed his head and greeted Alpha thane respectfully, " I appreciate everything you have done for me since I got here and how you spare my life when I attacked your son, if there is anything you'll liked to know please ask me and I promise to answer them truthfully."

" I see why my beta falls quickly for you, you're quite a catch."

Elijah smile shyly and thanked Alpha thane while beta Micheal looked at his Alpha with an unbelievable expression.

A few minutes later , The pack head nurse and healer joined them in Alpha thane office and began to collect samples of Elijah's blood, taking careful notes as she worked.

Elijah winced in pain as the nurse took a sample of blood from the spot where he had been injected with the poison and Beta Michael quickly reached out, taking Elijah's hand in his. "Hey, hey, Breathe, okay,.. I'm here with you, Just breathe for me."

Elijah looked up at his mate, his eyes filled with love and gratitude. "Thank you," he whispered.

Alpha Thane watched their interaction with an amused look on his face. He could feel the bond between them getting stronger and he was pleased to see it.

The pack nurse finished her work, stepping back with a nod. "That will be all for now , I'll get these samples analyzed and see what we can find out about the poison."

The pack nurse turned to Elijah and said, "You should follow me to the hospital. We'll need to run further examinations on you to determine the best course of treatment."

Alpha Thane nodded in agreement. "I'll accompany you both."

They arrived at the hospital, and the pack nurse led them to a private room where Elijah was settled onto a bed. Alpha Thane and Beta Michael sat down in chairs beside the bed, waiting anxiously for the nurse to return with the test results.

Two hours passed, and the pack nurse finally returned. "I'm afraid the news is not good," she said with dread filling her eyes, "The poison Elijah was injected with is a very lethal poison. I've never seen anything like it before."

Beta Micheal couldn't contain himself and stood up immediately, "What does this mean?" he demanded.

The pack nurse hesitated first before speaking. "I'm afraid it means that if we start looking for an antidote now, it will be too late for Elijah. There's nothing we can do to save him."

Beta Michael's face went white and his eyes widen with horror. He looked at Elijah, who was lying unconscious on the bed, unaware of the dire news.

"No," Beta Michael whispered, his voice shaking with emotion. "There has to be something we can do. We can't just give up on him ." Hot tears poured out of his face as he refused to accept the nurse's words. He shook his head in denial, his mind in disbelief with the thought of losing Elijah, he heard his wolf cried out in agony at the thought of losing their mate

"No, no, no,this can't be happening. We have to do something. There has to be a way to save him."

The nurse shake her head sympathy but her words were brutal. "I'm sorry, Beta Michael. We can only ease his pain and make his death as quick and peaceful as possible."

Beta Michael's face contorted in anguish, and he let out a roar, "NOOOOOO!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the hospital corridors. "I won't let my mate die! I won't just sit here and watch him slip away!"

He turned and ran out of the hospital, his feet pounding the ground as he sprinted towards Seer Namarie's quarters. He had to find a way to save Elijah, no matter what it took.

He felt a sense of desperation growing inside him as he ran, He couldn't lose Elijah, not now, not ever. He was willing to do anything, try anything, to save his mate's life.
