Beta Michael moved closer to the rogue wolf, his eyes fixed intently on his face. His movements were slow and deliberate, as if stalking his prey.

The rogue wolf just stare right back at him , he didn't cower nor blink his eyes Instead, he stood his ground, his eyes never leaving Beta Michael face.

Beta Michael narrowed his eyes and reached out to grab the rogue wolf by the collar of his shirt. He pulled him closer, his face inches from the wolf's.

"Who are you?" Beta Michael growled, "Where are you from? And why did you attack my Alpha son's car?"

The rogue wolf's eyes flashed with defiance, but he didn't struggle or try to break free. Instead, he just stood still,with an annoying smirk on his face.

Beta Michael's grip on the rogue wolf collar tightened, and his fingers dug deep into the fabric of the cloth. He could feel the wolf's heart racing, but he didn't back down, he wants to know more about him to know if he's redeemable or not.

"Answer me," Beta Michael snarled, with his teeth bared.

The rogue wolf's eyes bore into Beta Michael's soul, as if searching for something. After being satisfied with whatever he seem to be searching for in beta Micheal's eyes he spoke. "My name is Elijah, And I attacked the car because I had to , I was just trying to protect myself."

Beta Micheal raised his brow in disbelief, "protect your self?, How is killing an innocent fifteen years old child a way to protect yourself huh, he shook Elijah with more force and tossed him away.

Standing up, the rogue wolf, Elijah dust his cloth and move closer to beta Micheal , " I don't care if you believe me or not, I really don't know who was in the car, and I had no grudges with your pack , I'm just doing what am told."

Elijah went back and sit comfortably on the chair he was sitting on before. "But is that what you really want to know, Beta whatever your name is, he said waving his hands in the air, "Or is there something else you wish to know?"

Beta Micheal knew Elijah was baiting him and he felt his anger rising to a boiling point. "There is nothing more that I wish to know about you , You're a rogue wolf," Beta Michael snarled. "You attacked my alpha's son."

Elijah's gaze bore into Beta Michael's face as if he knew a secret that Beta Michael was trying so hard to keep hidden.

But the fact is Elijah did know, He had sensed the mate pull between them, the undeniable attraction that seemed to crackle in the air whenever they were near each other.

Beta Micheal put his hands in his trouser pocket and moved dangerously close to Elijah. "You're going to start talking, and you're going to tell me everything I want to know. Or else."

Elijah's smile never wavered, even in the face of Beta Michael's fury. "Or else what, he asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You'll make me talk by force? I doubt that. You see, I think you're curious about me, about why I attacked your alpha's son. And I think you're curious about this... thing between us."

Elijah's eyes seemed to gleam with amusement, and Beta Michael felt his anger rising more higher . He took a step closer to Elijah, his fists clenched at his sides, "I'm warning you, rogue wolf," he growled. "Start talking, or face the consequences."

"You're warning me?" Elijah chuckled, "I'm the one who's been locked up in this cell, beaten and interrogated. And yet, you're warning me?"

Beta Micheal sighed wearily, "How many times do I have to tell you, rogue wolf , that you're a threat to my pack and my family."

Elijah's smile never wavered. "Am I a threat?" he repeated. "Or am I something more? Something you're not willing to admit?"

Beta Michael's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. "What are you talking about?" he demanded.

"I'm talking about the mate bond between us,I'm talking about the way you feel when you're near me. The way your heart beats faster, your senses come alive."

Beta Michael's face went white with rage, but Elijah didn't stop. "You can't deny it, because I knew you felt it too , You can't deny the way you feel when you're near me."

Beta Michael's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. "I'm not your mate," he shouted, his voice echoing off the walls of the cell. "And even if I was , it won't matter because you're a rogue wolf and an enemy of my pack , did you know how long have been waiting for my mate ? , did you have any ideal how excruciatingly painful it was to survive all this years alone without you . And when I finally get to meet you , you came as my enemy. Did you know how much it hurt to be seeing you in front of me and not being able to touch or kiss you .

Elijah screamed in agony , " of course I know," he shouted punching the wall beside him . " I know how hard it is because I'm also going through it , but believe me when I say none of this is my fault , I didn't pray for any of this ."

Elijah took a deep breath, his eyes clouding over with memories. " I am the beta of my pack and the Shadow Claw pack attacked and killed all of my pack, including my Alpha who is also my childhood friend . "They spared a few of us, but only because they had a use for us."

Elijah's eyes flashed with anger, and his voice grew stronger. "They injected us with a poison, a poison that would slowly kill us if we didn't do exactly as they said. And what they want was for us to carry out their dirty deeds, to do their bidding without question."

Beta Michael's face darkened, his eyes narrowing in disgust. "What kind of poison?" he demanded.

Elijah shrugged. "I don't know, but I know it's slow-acting. We were told that if we completed our missions, we would be given an antidote. But if we failed... "

Elijah's voice trailed off, and he didn't need to finish the sentence. Beta Michael knew exactly what would happen if they failed.

"The Shadow Claw pack's alpha," Elijah continued, "He's the one who gave the orders. He's the one who's responsible for the deaths of my pack, for the suffering of those of us who were spared."

Elijah looked at beta Micheal and tears rolled down his cheeks, "I only have 12 more hours to live," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "If I don't receive the antidote from the Shadow Claw pack, I'll be dead by this time tomorrow."
