The Alpha Soulbound Mate [BL]

Chapter 24: Chapter 25: Despair

As the day to bury Aurora was drawing near, the entire pack was in a somber and sorrowful mood .

On the day of her burial the entire pack had gathered at the burial grounds, a quiet and serene spot surrounded by tall trees and a tranquil lake.

Alpha Thane and Luna Lila stood at the front of the gathering, their faces etched with grief and sadness. Aiden and Ryder still struggling to come to terms with their sister's death, stood beside them, their eyes vacant and devoid of emotions, their face pale and puffy from excessive crying.

Seer Namarie, stood at the edge of the gathering, her eyes closed and her hands clasped together in prayer.

The pack's beta, Micheal, began to speak, his voice hoarse from crying. "Today, we gather to say goodbye to a bright and shining light in our pack," he said. "Aurora was a kind and gentle soul with a fierce spirit and a heart full of love and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all of us."

As Micheal finished speaking, the pack began to sing a mournful melody, their voices blending together in a haunting harmony. The song was a traditional pack lament, one that had been sung for generations to honor the dead.

As the song came to an end, Alpha Thane stepped forward, a small, delicate box in his hands. "This is Aurora's favorite possession," he said, his voice cracking with emotion. "A small, sliver pendant that she wore always. I want to bury it with her, as a symbol of our love and our loss."

With tears streaming down his face, Alpha Thane placed the box in the grave on top of Aurora's casket. The pack watched in silence as the grave was filled in, their faces etched with sorrow and grief.

As the burial came to an end, Aiden turned to his parents, his eyes filled with tears. "I want to stay here," he told them. "I want to stay with Rory."

Alpha Thane and his mate exchanged a sorrowful glance, their hearts aching for their son. "We'll stay with you," Alpha Thane said, his voice filled with compassion. "We'll stay here with Rory, and we'll mourn her loss together."

As the sun began to set, casting a shadowy glow over the burial grounds, the pack slowly disperse, leaving Alpha Thane and his family to their grief.

As the days passed after Aurora burial, Aiden became increasingly withdrawn and depressed. He isolated himself from everyone, he can't face the world without his sister by his side. He felt lost and alone, like a part of him had been ripped away.He stopped eating, sleeping, and doing things that had brought him joy before. He just existed, going through the motions of life without any purpose or passion.

He spent most of his time in the hideout he and Aurora had shared, crying and screaming and pounding his fists against the walls. He felt like he was losing his mind, like he was drowning in a sea of grief and despair.

Anytime he wasn't at their hideout he would be in Aurora's room, surrounded by her things and her memories. He didn't let anyone else in, not even his parents. He just sat there, surrounded by the silence and the stillness, feeling like a part of him had been amputated.

As days turned into weeks, Aiden's physical health began to deteriorate. He lost weight, his skin turned pale, and his eyes lost their sparkle. He looked like a shadow of his former self, a mere ghost of the happy and charming person he used to be.

Alpha Thane and Luna Lila were worried sick about their son. They tried everything to reach him, to bring him back from the brink of despair. But nothing seemed to work. Aiden was lost in his grief, and they didn't know how to help him find his way back.

Luna Lila's world had been shattered into a million pieces. The loss of her daughter, had left her feeling empty, hollow, and utterly devastated. She felt like a part of her had been ripped away, leaving her with a gaping wound that would never heal.

As she walked through the pack's garden, she felt like she was moving through a fog, unable to see or feel anything around her. She was numb, frozen in a state of shock and grief that she couldn't escape.

Every step she took, every breath she made, felt like a betrayal of her daughter's memory. She couldn't bear the thought of living without Aurora, of waking up every morning without her bright smile and infectious laughter.

Her mind was filled with memories of her daughter, of the way she used to curl up in her lap and fall asleep, of the way she used to make her laugh with her silly jokes and antics. She remembered the way Aurora used to look up at her with wide, adoring eyes, the way she used to hug her tight and tell her that she loved her.

As the days passed, Luna found it harder and harder to get out of bed. She felt like she was trapped in a never- ending nightmare, unable to wake up and escape . She would lie on the bed for hours, staring blankly at the ceiling, feeling like she was losing herself in the depths of her sorrow.

She knew her mate tried to be strong for her, to be the rock that she needed in this time of grief. But even he couldn't reach her, couldn't penetrate the fog of sorrow that surrounded her.

Her eyes were filled with tears as she had to watched her sons , struggle to come to terms with the loss of their sister. She watched as Aiden disappeared into the darkness of his grief with pain and guilt etched on his face, and it broke her heart.

As a mother, her instincts were to protect and care for her children , to take away their pain and make everything okay again. But as she looked at them , she felt a pang of her own grief, a reminder that she couldn't take away their pain because she was struggling to cope with her own.

She felt like she was being torn in two, her concern for her children is colliding with her own grief and sorrow. She wanted to be strong for her sons, to be the rock that they needed in their time of need , as her mate had done for her .But at the same time ,she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by her own emotions, her own sense of loss and bereavement.

As she watched Aiden health deteriorating , she felt a lump form in her throat, and she knew that she was on the verge of tears. She took a deep breath, trying to compose herself, but it was no use. The tears came, streaming down her face as she mourned the loss of her daughter and struggled to come to terms with her son's pain.

Alpha Thane, who was sitting beside her, put a comforting arm around her shoulders. "my love," he whispered. "You're not alone in this. We'll get through this together, as a family."

Resting her head on her mate shoulder , she felt a sense of gratitude towards him. She knew that she wasn't alone in her grief, that he was suffering too. But as she looked at Aiden, she knew that she had to be strong for her family ,to be the mother that her sons needed in their time of need.
