A week passed,

We had passed by the ancient tribe, where Zale talked to me for a few minutes. I wasn't planning too much time there since Amelia couldn't see the tribe; it was hidden for her. Nevertheless, I gave them Zero's blood, and they made the potion in record time.

They didn't specify the effect of the potion, but they said to give it to someone I loved. That was the only indication they had said.

I knew that it had originally been to save Phoebe, so I could only imagine that it was some kind of health potion that was ridiculously overpowered compared to the rest of the potions I had faced in my life.

In fact, I knew that it was superior to all the potions I had seen before because of the aura surrounding this potion. Still, I would go to one of the many Alchemist shops once I got back to analyze it. After all, as far as I could tell, no one could tell where it came from. They would only know that it was extremely special.

'Wait… I could just show Ava. Still, it might be weird with Amelia around,' I thought in the back of my mind as I glanced to my left at the smiling Amelia, who honestly seemed the happiest since I had met her.

A huge weight was gone from her shoulders, and now she could enjoy life as much as she wanted without anyone ever getting in her way. I was a little bit jealous of her, but I didn't act like it. There was no point in doing so; it was better to keep things hidden from her for the time being and to carry that weight on my shoulder for a little while longer.

Still, I had decided not to head back to the capital right away, spending some time alone with Amelia. Well, she had been the one insisting that we spent some time "off," as she called it.

As for the former slaves, Phoebe was in charge of bringing them back to the human kingdom and explaining a little about what had happened to the king. I also told her to call me if anything went wrong. Still, I didn't think anything would go badly. The king probably knew that I and I had managed to kill the son of a Demon King, and he must be pretty happy right now.

Nonetheless, it was hard to think of all those things since my girlfriend, yes, my girlfriend, was currently sitting on top of me while I was lying.

She was like a fox, pinning me down on the soft mattress, not letting me move a single inch.

That was what our "time off" consisted of. Us getting very intimate with one another. It also led me to discover some things about Amelia, such as the fact that she was extremely possessive of me. She was always kind of addicted to my touch now for some reason as she always stayed right next to me as if she was my pet… though I had to admit that it wasn't something that I disliked.

It's just that sometimes it could get a bit much. I honestly couldn't imagine what would happen when I would go on a mission or leave a place alone. She would completely panic. There was not a doubt about that in the back of my mind.

Still, I liked having her around. It was nice, and it was a needed change of pace in my life. These past few days have honestly been amazing from start to finish, and I loved every moment.

Nonetheless, all good things needed to come to an end. Today was the day that I needed to go back to the human kingdom. After all, my students were waiting for me, amongst other things.

That's why I slowly pushed Amelia off from me. "Amelia, not this morning. You remember, right? I need to go back to the empire."

She clicked her tongue in dissatisfaction. "Tsk, why can't we just stay here… isn't this nice, pretty much the perfect life. You have a cute elf that loves you to death, and we have enough money to sustain ourselves, and we're strong enough that no one will even come near us… We could stay like this until the end of our lives. What do you think?"

I shook my head. "I told you already what I think of this. I'm going back. You can either follow me or stay here. Your choice."

Then, she got up and got her things right away, getting ready to leave.

In fact, she managed to get ready before even me. It seemed like she really didn't want to be left behind.

Amelia instantly jumped into my arms, and I flew downwards from the mountain where we had spent the past week or so. It was time to head back to the human kingdom and see what had changed while I was gone.
