Chapter 166 - Seeing the Empress Again
It took one hour or so before both Amelia and I landed in the human kingdom. Obviously, I got down from the ground before anyone could see me since I didn't want rumors of me flying around spreading around the world, especially since flying was such a rare skill that only a few individuals could even grasp.
However, once we reached the gates to the city, things got a bit more complicated since it seemed the guards had received some orders from the Emperor. As soon as they saw me, they immediately dashed in my direction, asking me to follow them; otherwise, they would have no choice but to capture me by force.
I knew there was no chance for them to even capture me. Nevertheless, I decided to follow since I needed to have a discussion with the Emperor, especially considering the message I had left Alexandra before leaving.
There was a good chance that she had changed some words when she had said to the Emperor. After all, I understood that much from our small phone calls with one another.
"I'm curious. Do any of you know why the Emperor asked to see me?"
"We're simply following orders. That's all."
I nodded as I looked over to Amelia, who had kicked a few guards to stay with me. They had tried their best to only bring me to the Emperor. However, they hadn't managed to, as they needed to face Amelia's wrath, which was accentuated when it came to me.
"Gotcha, so you're all pretty much useless, huh?" I muttered as I saw the expressions on each of their faces change.
"Tsk, shut up. You left the human kingdom without telling anyone because you wanted to. If there's anyone who's useless, it's you. You weren't a high-ranking officer, and you're nothing more than a commoner. Don't you dare talk to us as if you're superior?"
First off, everything that he had just said was clearly wrong without a doubt in my mind.
I was not a commoner. I just didn't go around brandishing the fact that I was one, and honestly, I couldn't care less that I was a noble. I stopped being one the moment my parents died, and I abandoned our estate.
As for not being a high-ranking officer in the war, I couldn't tell him off. Though, the only reason I wasn't one was because of my own decisions. It had nothing to do with my skills.
And yes, I had left on my own because the director of the Royal Academy is a fucking dumbass. She's one of the stupidest people I have ever seen in my life. Following me around all the way to the hidden tribe, trying to see me for some stupid reason.
Just thinking about it was making me mad.
"If I'm useless, then just try to fight me. You won't even be able to even lay a single finger on me. I'm faster, stronger, more agile, and I have access to a lot more skills than you all combined. If you were to try to fight me, the only thing that would happen would be your defeat." I looked down at them with a smirk. "Now, stay quiet and guide me to the Emperor's home, pathetic little soldiers."
They all glared their teeth at me. However, they still didn't do anything against me. Maybe because they knew they had no chance against me, or maybe because the Emperor had warned them. Anyway, Amelia seemed to like the fact that they were no longer speaking against me.
It took a few more minutes for us to reach the Empire's manor as on the way, we kept getting interrupted and looks from everyone around. Most people thought that I was a criminal who needed judging, but a few recognized me as a professor.
I didn't know, but it seemed I had obtained some fans here and there in my long absence from this kingdom.
Nevertheless, Amelia and I got through the gate to the Emperor's manor just fine, as we were still being guided by guards. However, on the way there, I spotted the Empress, someone who had some history with me, considering that I had run into her the last time I had seen her at the banquet and dropped onto her body.
I still vividly remember how awkward things had been back then. Still, I couldn't help but admit that she was most likely the most beautiful woman I had seen in my life. The Emperor certainly had made a good choice when choosing his wife.
-Tap!
"Argh… why did you hit me?"
"Tsk, stop ogling her like some pervert! I'm right here, you know!" Amelia shouted, annoyed by the fact that I stared at the Empress.
Nevertheless, the Empress quickly let the guards go and guided us personally.
"It's nice to see you again. The Emperor talked about you a lot while you were gone for over three months." Your next read awaits at empire
"Nice to see you again," I replied politely.
"Who's this beautiful woman next to you? An Elf? But why is the color of her hair so white… as if it was made of snow."
My eyes widened. "Ah, she's Amelia. She's the Queen of the Ice Elves; that's why the color of her hair and eyes was like that."
"T-The Queen of Ice Elves?!" The Empress panicked right away, not knowing what to do. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't know that someone as important as you was coming to our manor. If so, I would have made the necessary preparations."
"Ah… no worries, I'm only here to accompany Caedrel. And I'm not really the Queen of the Ice Elves anymore. I gave up on that title to become Caedrel's lover and follow him everywhere in the world!"
The more the Empress heard Amelia talk, the more confused she was becoming. She had literally no idea what was happening.
"The Queen of the Ice Elves and Caedrel Stuart are going out… together?! Really?" She screamed. "Hubby! Come out, this is big news!"
