Chapter 164 - I Need To Tell Father

One day later,

Amelia had taken care of everything for the Ice Elf Kingdom by appointing a new king on the throne. She knew very well that she was basically abandoning her people by doing so. However, she preferred to leave with me because of all the past events that had happened to her.

"Ready to go?" I asked as we were already at the gates.

She hadn't even told her people that she would be leaving for good. However, I thought that was a good decision since it would only cause more confusion and panic within the Ice Elf Kingdom. There was already the fact I had massacred most of them inside the throne room, which was bound to cause panic if the new king were to announce it to his subjects. If they knew that the queen was leaving them behind, then it would create even more confusion, which was the last thing anyone wanted.

"Yep, let's go!" She said with a bright smile as we walked toward the gate hand in hand.

The same guard that Amelia had "flirted" with when we had left for the Icy Lake was still there and instantly recognized the two of us. However, his eyes were fixated on the queen, which, for some reason, made me somewhat angry as I got in front of her and hid her behind my body.

I didn't want a man to look lustfully at my girlfriend. Was I being possessive? Maybe. However, from the giggle coming from Amelia, it seemed she liked me acting this way. After all, it showed I cared for her and that I wanted people to know that she was mine and only mine.

"Hm, leaving again already?" The guard asked the two of us as he sighed since he couldn't see Amelia's beauty any longer.

"Yeah, we're leaving. We fixed everything that needed fixing."

"Hm, where are you two heading?" He asked.

"None of your business."

Then, he just let us through. After all, I was with the "queen," and he had no right to ask us questions about anything. He just needed to bow down and let us through. As we walked through the gate, I spotted Phoebe, who was waiting for us with all the former slaves, staring at us with a lot of curiosity since we were holding hands, which was something only lovers would do.

The gaze coming from Emma was definitely the most intense one out of all of them.

Still, I didn't mind it. I knew that was how she was and that if she even tried something on Amelia, she would be the one in danger. After all, Amelia wasn't weak. She was just weak in my eyes… to normal people, she was one of the most powerful beings ever.

But to me, she was just my harmless little girlfriend.

"Is everyone ready to head for the tribe?" I asked with a bright smile.

Phoebe, who also noticed how close both Amelia and I were, had a slight frown on her face. Still, she didn't say anything, nor did she ask questions.

"Yeah, let's go. I can't wait to get back home!" She exclaimed excitedly.

As I mentioned the tribe, I still remember one thing Zale told me when I first arrived. I would be able to break the curse that restricts them from going to the outside world. However, even now, I had no idea where that curse was or how I would even begin to break it. I didn't know if he was hoping for something from me once I came back. But I was just as lost as the beginning. I certainly wouldn't be able to help him.

POV Laura

I wasn't sure what was happening, but my brother's familiar was standing before me with a look of panic.

It had come through the elven territory without alarming anyone; however, even then, that was a risky move that could have blown my cover for all of the elves. If it's familiar, I had decided to take such a choice; it meant something important had happened to my little brother.

It was a good thing that I was in my room and there was no one else with me right now. Otherwise, I would have no choice but to silence those who had seen this weird little creature that could run faster than the speed of light.

"Tell me. What happened to my brother that you had to come all the way here?" I asked, seeing the creature losing its mind.

"Caedrel found him," the creature uttered, fearing for his life.

"Caedrel…?" I frowned as that name didn't tell me anything right away. However, within five seconds, I knew extremely well what the creature was talking about. Caedrel is the man who caused them problems since the very beginning of the war. "I see. What happened to my brother? He must have lived, but where did he flee?"

The creature shook his head rapidly.

"No? What do you mean? My brother didn't lose?"

The creature shook his head again.

"Then what is it? SPEAK."

I raised my voice out of anger since there was a chance that some elves would come barging inside this room. However, it seemed no one would be doing so. I was still safe from killing anyone for the time being. Even if I wouldn't mind doing so because of how angry I was at the moment.

"He was killed by Caedrel and a friend of his… I don't know of his identity, however."

"He was killed?!" I felt the rage bubbling inside of me. "Someone dared kill my little brother? But how did he even manage such a thing? Caedrel shouldn't have access to Aether. That's the only thing that can truly hurt us."

"He seemed to have gained the ability to manipulate Aether. However, from the skills he showed in his battle, he doesn't know how to use it well just yet."

I couldn't believe it. "A human can use aether?"

This meant that a lot of things could go wrong, especially considering the person who had acquired Aether. He could actually cause us problems now.

"I need to tell Father, and don't worry, we will take our revenge. No one can kill a member of our family and stay alive for very long."
