For the Silph Co. security guards, this was a disaster.

They all knew Rocket Team's target was the thirteenth-floor vault.

And now Rocket Team had reached it!

The unprotected vault lay exposed, completely vulnerable to Rocket Team's forces.

"Director Luo Yuan!"

The security guards looked to Luo Yuan, desperation in their eyes.

Unable to stop Rocket Team themselves, they placed their last hopes on him.

"Don't worry!"

Luo Yuan tossed another Pokéball into the fray.

"Roar!"

Dragonair's sleek, serpentine body emerged, a blue ribbon of power as it darted through the battleground, heading directly for the vault.

"Dragonair, Dragon Breath!"

Under Luo Yuan's command, Dragonair unleashed a wave of violet Dragon Breath, its paralyzing energy striking the Rocket Team grunts poised to enter the vault.

"Arbok, Glare!"

"Weezing, Sludge Bomb!"

Arbok reared up, its gaze sharp and intimidating, and the eerie patterns on its chest seemed to come alive with a chilling aura. Glare paralyzed opponents by filling them with terror, leaving them unable to move.

Arbok's Glare froze Dragonair's path while Weezing launched a Sludge Bomb to follow up, a classic Rocket Team tactic written in the rookie handbook: control with Glare, attack with poison—a standard three-person Rocket Team formation.

But… as a Rocket Team executive, Luo Yuan knew their tactics inside out. He'd studied them himself to better direct his own squad.

There was no one on the field who understood this strategy better—or how to counter it.

"Dragonair, Outrage!" Luo Yuan ordered.

If Glare relied on inducing fear to paralyze the opponent, then the solution was simple: refuse to be afraid!

Surrounded by a red aura, Dragonair's eyes glowed with fury.

In its frenzied Outrage state, Dragonair was immune to Glare's effects. With a swift strike, it surged forward, smashing Arbok out of its way with its tail.

Weezing's Sludge Bomb came hurling toward it to defend Arbok, but Dragonair's serpentine body twisted and looped gracefully, avoiding each glob of sludge.

It was the very embodiment of fluid, elegant strength, turning its agility into an art form.

Dodging Weezing's attack with ease, Dragonair swung its tail in a quick Dragon Rage, hitting Weezing squarely and knocking it out of the air.

Dragonair's display of raw power and control left everyone speechless.

Seconds passed in stunned silence. Only when Dragonair resumed its attack did the Rocket Team grunts snap out of their trance, still awestruck.

"Incredible!"

Both the Rocket Team members under Dragonair's assault and the Silph Co. staff watching had the same thought.

Hiroki alone looked uncertain as he studied Luo Yuan.

The man… seemed unusually familiar with their Rocket Team tactics.

The battle continued.

Dragonair blocked the vault entrance, leaving every Rocket Team grunt who tried to enter defeated, utterly foiling their mission.

Meanwhile, Luo Yuan and Sabrina advanced on them step by step.

Though Hiroki was skilled, he was still only a squad leader—a limited rank within Rocket Team.

He was up against two top executives of the organization, even if… those two weren't even fighting at full strength!

Thud!

Hiroki's Weezing crashed against the wall.

Sabrina's Alakazam had effortlessly knocked it out with a Future Sight, leaving it unconscious.

Across the room, Charizard was finishing off Nidoking with a final Brick Break.

In a third corner of the battlefield, Slowbro—having only recently evolved—used its psychic affinity to fully dominate Muk.

Though new to its form, Slowbro's typing gave it a natural advantage over Muk, and with its psychic prowess, handling Muk was only a matter of time.

Muk's stench alone had slowed Slowbro down, disrupting its usual rhythm, or it would've already ended the fight.

With two of Hiroki's main Pokémon defeated, the battle turned decisively.

Finally realizing the advantage, Silph Co.'s guards rallied.

With Director Luo Yuan and Gym Leader Sabrina here, it felt like victory was within reach!

But for Rocket Team, the situation looked bleak.

On one hand, their goal of raiding Silph Co. had been crushed by Luo Yuan. On the other, Hiroki's team leader status had lost credibility with his Pokémon dropping left and right.

Pushing forward was impossible with Luo Yuan and Sabrina blocking them.

Retreating wasn't an option either—they were cornered between Luo Yuan on one side and the vault on the other.

Stuck, demoralization was clear on their faces.

The grunts looked to Hiroki, hoping he'd find a way out.

But Hiroki was just as desperate.

No one had told him Sabrina from Saffron Gym would be here in the first place.

And this Silph director—how was he so strong?

Wasn't he supposed to be a businessman? What kind of company director doubles as a powerful Trainer?

With his last Pokémon downed by Slowbro's psychic powers and Charizard's Flamethrower, Hiroki had nothing left.

The remaining Rocket Team grunts were swiftly overwhelmed.

One by one, their Pokéballs were confiscated, and the grunts themselves were tied up and shoved against a wall.

"You Rocket Team grunts sure are bold. Attacking Silph Co. in broad daylight—guess you don't care about the League, huh?" Luo Yuan taunted, standing in front of Hiroki.

He knew it was the perfect time to establish his own image and publicly distance himself from Rocket Team.

After all, who would ever suspect a Rocket Team executive of saying something like that?

Next to him, Sabrina rolled her eyes.

Giovanni's assessment had been right: Luo Yuan was a natural-born spy.

The way he was handling this whole situation…

If he'd pulled out a badge and revealed himself as an International Police undercover agent, even Sabrina wouldn't have been surprised.
