Supreme Casanova: Ultimate Harem System

Chapter 96: Knock Knock Knock!

Hugo sat stiffly on the edge of the bed, his mind a chaotic mess. His heart thumped wildly in his chest, and his thoughts were practically yelling at him in all caps.

'WHY ME? WHY NOW? WHY HER?!'

He glanced at Luna, who was casually leaning against the doorway, a sly smile playing on her lips.

She looked like she had all the time in the world, but Hugo? He felt like a man sitting on a ticking bomb.

Meanwhile, Jessica stood to the side, wrapped in her towel, glancing between them in confusion.

Hugo forced a nervous smile, his brain scrambling. 'Okay, think, Hugo. She hasn't said anything about the kiss yet. Maybe she doesn't want to cause a scene in front of Jessica. Maybe—oh, who am I kidding? She's definitely here to cause trouble! The kiss was meant to be the final nail in my coffin!'

"Uh, hey, Luna…" Hugo began, his voice a little shaky.

Luna tilted her head, her smile widening. "Hey, Hugo." Her tone was sweet, too sweet—like syrup laced with poison.

Jessica frowned, glancing at Luna. "Wait, do you two know each other or something?"

Luna spoke before Hugo could answer. "Oh, we've met." She emphasized the word like it carried a hidden weight, her eyes never leaving Hugo's face.

Hugo's stomach did a backflip. 'This is bad. This is so bad. Abort mission. Evacuate the premises. Call an exorcist!'

Jessica raised an eyebrow. "Really? When?"

Luna shrugged, her tone casual but her smile sharper than a knife. "Oh, you know, not too long ago. Hugo's quite… memorable."

Jessica turned to Hugo, confused. "Is that true?"

Hugo coughed awkwardly, his mind racing. "Uh, yeah, we, um, crossed paths. Briefly. Very briefly. Almost forgettable, really."

Luna chuckled softly, crossing her arms. "Forgettable? Is that how you'd describe our… encounter?"

Hugo's brain practically exploded. 'Why is she like this?! Does she enjoy watching me squirm? I'm not trying to marry your mother for crying out loud!'

He tried to force his face into something resembling calmness.

Jessica's frown deepened. "What kind of encounter are we talking about here?"

Before Hugo could dig himself an even deeper hole, Luna cut in, her voice dripping with amusement.

"Don't worry, Jess. I was just being nosy. I wanted to make sure Hugo here wasn't some smooth-talking player trying to take advantage of you."

Jessica sighed, rolling her eyes. "Luna, come on. Hugo's been nothing but sweet all night."

Hugo let out a silent sigh of relief. 'Sweet? Yes. Let's stick with sweet. Sweet like candy. Sweet like sugar. Sweet like I definitely didn't flirt with her yoga instructor bestie a few days ago.'

But Luna wasn't done. She leaned slightly closer, her sharp gaze locking onto Hugo's. "Sweet, huh? Well, I guess I'll leave you two alone… for now."

Hugo forced a laugh, his voice a little too high-pitched. "That's… great! Thanks, Luna! We'd really appreciate the privacy!"

Luna didn't move. She stared at Hugo with a grin that sent shivers down his spine. "Hmm. I don't know. Should I leave? Or should I stick around and keep an eye on things?"

Hugo panicked internally. 'Why is she still here? What does she want from me? My soul?!'

He cleared his throat, forcing his best persuasive smile. "Luna, I promise, you have nothing to worry about. Jessica's in good hands. You can trust me."

Luna raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Trust you? That's a big ask, don't you think? Especially since you're clearly sweating right now."

Jessica glanced at Hugo, noticing the beads of sweat on his forehead. "Hugo, are you okay?"

"Oh, yeah! Totally fine!" Hugo said, his voice an octave too high. He gave an exaggerated laugh. "It's just… uh… warm in here. Really warm."

Luna smirked, clearly enjoying his discomfort. "Hmm. Maybe I should stay. Just in case."

Hugo's brain screamed. 'This is it. This is how I die. Not by lightning, not by some system punishment, but by sheer awkwardness!'

But then, the timer for his Aura flashed in his mind—54 seconds left. Hugo's panic turned into determination. 'Alright, time to charm my way out of this mess. Let's go, Aura of Persuasion.'

He straightened up, his voice smoother now. "Luna, I get it. You're just looking out for your friend. That's really admirable. But I think we both know Jessica doesn't need a chaperone right now."

Luna narrowed her eyes, clearly sensing the shift in his tone. "Is that so?"

Hugo nodded, his smile confident. "Absolutely. You can trust me to treat her right. And besides…" He leaned in slightly, lowering his voice just enough to sound sincere. "Don't you think it's better to let her decide for herself?"

Luna's smirk faltered for a split second. She hesitated, clearly swayed by his words but still stubborn. "Hmm. Maybe. But I'm still not sure I like you."

Hugo chuckled softly, keeping his tone light. Internally he was cursing all female best friends. "That's fair. But hey, maybe I'll grow on you."

Luna stared at him for a moment, then finally let out a dramatic sigh. "Fine. I'll leave… for now. But if I hear even a peep of trouble, I'm coming back."

Jessica laughed, rolling her eyes. "Luna, just go already!"

With one last mischievous glance at Hugo, Luna finally left, closing the door behind her.

Hugo collapsed onto the bed with a groan, wiping his forehead. "Your roommate is… intense."

Jessica giggled, sitting down beside him. "She's just protective. Don't take it personally."

"Oh, I won't," Hugo said, then grinned. "Especially now that we've got the place to ourselves."

Jessica laughed, leaning closer. "Well, then… where were we?"

Hugo's heart skipped a beat as she leaned in, her lips finding his once more.

Her towel shifted slightly as she moved, and Hugo's hands instinctively found their way to her hips.

His fingers brushed against her towel-covered backside, and he couldn't help but marvel at the softness and firmness beneath his touch.

Among all the girls he had made out with. Her backside was the biggest! It was marvelous!

'This… this is the pinnacle of human achievement,' Hugo thought. 'Forget the system. Forget magic. This is the real reward.'

Jessica giggled against his lips, her hands sliding into his hair. "You're so eager."

Hugo kissed her neck, his voice low and teasing. "Can you blame me?"

He reached for the edge of her towel, ready to finally pull it free when—

Knock. Knock. Knock.

The sound was like a bucket of cold water dumped over his head.

Jessica groaned loudly, pulling away. "What now?"

Hugo buried his face in his hands. 'Why. Why does this keep happening to me?!'

Jessica got up, adjusting her towel. "If this is Luna again, I swear I'm going to kill her."

The door creaked open, and sure enough, Luna poked her head in, grinning like a cat that had just caught a mouse. "Hey, Jess. I forgot my… uh… headphones."

Her eyes landed on Hugo, still sitting on the bed with a mixture of frustration and resignation on his face. Luna's grin widened.

"Oh. Am I interrupting something?"
