Superman's Saiyan little brother

Chapter 613: Chapter 612: Despairing Emotions

A series of terrifying explosions echoed continuously within the space, shaking everything around. The ground had long since shattered and disappeared; there was no lava or other substances below, as this wasn't a real planetary space. The battle waves generated by Robert and Mammon were so terrifying that Constantine and the students of Kamar-Taj had already fled the area, fearing they would be killed by the explosion's aftermath.

Even the battle between Diana and Gabriel was severely affected. Despite their strength, they couldn't completely ignore the impact of the explosions from Robert and Mammon's fight. They had to actively defend themselves to avoid injury.

However, neither Diana nor Gabriel could easily spare the focus or energy to change their techniques while fighting. Any lapse would be seized by their opponent. The damage from the explosion's aftermath was less significant than what the other could inflict.

Thus, a peculiar battle stance emerged between Diana and Gabriel. Neither wanted to block the explosive aftermath from Robert and Mammon, preferring to endure a few injuries rather than give their opponent an opening.

Of course, this situation couldn't continue indefinitely. Diana and Gabriel, despite being adversaries, tacitly agreed to distance themselves from Robert and Mammon's battlefield to focus more on their own battle, minimizing the impact of the surrounding environment and other forces.

Interestingly, the space appeared vast, and as Robert and Mammon's destructive range expanded, Diana and Gabriel's distance from their battlefield became greater than the distance between Earth and the Moon. However, in this space, distance wasn't absolute. In the perception of Diana and Gabriel, they were far from Robert and Mammon, but to the observing Clark and the elderly gentleman, they seemed very close, not requiring them to split their attention to watch both battles.

"How long will this battle last? Can anyone tell who's stronger?" Hellboy asked, frowning as he observed the distant battle through a farsight spell.

"Honestly, we can't tell. The gap between their power and ours is too great..." Baron Mordo and the others exchanged glances, shaking their heads helplessly. They could barely manage to observe the battles with their small-scale spells, but their level wasn't sufficient to judge the outcome.

"I can't tell either, but it's the first time I've seen a Saiyan struggle so much, forced to use so much destructive energy. Who knows how long he can keep it up? If he exhausts his power, it won't bode well for him or Earth," Constantine said, his tone serious.

Constantine wasn't particularly concerned about others' safety and didn't have much of a hero complex unless there was money involved. However, he didn't want Robert to fall to Mammon. Not only had he benefited from Robert's presence, but he also stood to gain more in the future. More importantly, if Mammon won, Earth would be in grave danger.

Mammon's intentions for Earth were clear: to claim it as his domain or transform it into a part of the Hell dimension. In such a scenario, even Constantine, who straddled the line between the supernatural and the mundane, would struggle to survive long-term.

"Your Holiness, what do you think?" Baron Mordo asked the Pope softly. Since the Pope had imparted the power of the holy light of faith to Robert, Mordo and the others had come to trust the Pope's stance.

Mordo and the others couldn't help but reflect on the Pope's bold words against Gabriel. They were somewhat inspired, but now they were anxious.

"To be honest, even with the blessing of the holy light, the Saiyan isn't dominating the battle. If he can maintain his output of powerful energy waves, he might hold Mammon at bay. But I'm concerned he can't sustain it much longer," the Pope said quietly, a look of fatigue crossing his face.

"I thought I could come here and decisively kill Gabriel, but upon arriving, I realized I overestimated myself and the power of faith while underestimating Gabriel's strength. Especially since Gabriel, being an angel, has a natural resistance to the power of faith. So, I've placed my hopes on the Saiyan, but now it seems the situation is dire."

"Moreover, the battle between Gabriel and the warrior hasn't tipped in either's favor. If the Saiyan falls first, with Mammon and Gabriel's combined power, the warrior won't stand a chance..."

"So, does this mean Earth is really doomed?" A voice from the crowd interrupted, filled with panic.

"There's still a sliver of hope: either your teacher appears to save the day, or that earthly god shows up," the Pope said, shaking his head. "But your teacher is missing, and the earthly god hasn't shown himself. More importantly, what kind of space are we in?"

"This clearly isn't a Kamar-Taj mirror dimension, nor is it Earth's normal space. It seems like another powerful domain, one vast enough to accommodate the battle of four hell lord-level entities. So, is the master of this space friend or foe?"

The crowd fell silent, exchanging uncertain glances, including Constantine and Hellboy. They didn't know what to say. Or rather, they knew that whatever they said wouldn't matter because they were mere spectators. Earth's hope rested solely on Robert and Diana. However, even if Robert and Diana won, they would still face the powerful being who created this terrifying space. Could they really win then? It seemed unlikely...

Despair slowly crept into the crowd. A strange silence settled, and no one spoke. Most stared blankly at the two battlefields, their minds already numbed by the situation.

Meanwhile, in Earth's normal space, after the domain at the building collapsed, Robert and the others had briefly appeared. During that time, Robert had unleashed several energy waves to repel Mammon, resulting in widespread destruction, akin to a meteor strike or a nuclear war.

This destruction couldn't be hidden. Both the Avengers and various government agencies had arrived, and this time, there was no conflict among them. The officials stood in shock at the scene of devastation, far more horrifying in person than in any reports or data they had seen.

"Tony Stark! Where are Superman and the Saiyan? Did they cause this destruction? What are they trying to do?" A voice suddenly demanded, drawing everyone's attention.

"They're not Avengers. How would I know?" Tony Stark retorted, not backing down, though a hint of worry flickered in his eyes.

His concern wasn't about the official's pointed questions but because J.A.R.V.I.S. had detected that the energy signature of the explosions matched Robert's energy waves. This confirmed the strength of Robert's opponent. Stark was aware of the existence of mirror dimensions and suspected Robert might be trapped in one. But what if Robert wasn't in a mirror dimension?

Previously, Robert had warned of a potential change in the Earth's dimension and that the coming enemies might be more terrifying than before. Seeing the destruction, Stark couldn't help but worry.

"What do you say?" After confronting the official, Stark looked at the Martian Manhunter, giving him a questioning glance.

J.A.R.V.I.S. couldn't detect a mirror dimension; despite Stark's encounters with them, he couldn't collect data on them. The Martian Manhunter, who had previously exited a mirror dimension, might be their best chance to find Robert due to his unique phasing ability.

"There's good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?" the Martian Manhunter's voice echoed in Stark's mind.

"Now's not the time for jokes! Is the Saiyan okay? What's causing this destruction?" Stark replied.

"I'm not sure about the Saiyan; I couldn't find him..." the Martian Manhunter responded, his tone filled with frustration. "The good news is, there is an independent space here, a very large one!"

"Then why haven't you gone in to check? You said you could enter a mirror dimension, so what's stopping you?" Stark asked urgently.

"The bad news is, this doesn't seem to be a mirror dimension. I don't have a way to enter it. This space is far more powerful," the Martian Manhunter replied, sounding increasingly helpless.

The Martian Manhunter had never encountered such a situation. He had interacted with the Ancient One and seen her mirror dimension, which couldn't trap him. He had taken pride in his ability to traverse spaces, a vital survival skill, barring fire.

But now, faced with a vast space he couldn't enter, the Martian Manhunter realized his abilities weren't invincible. If this space could exclude him, it could also trap him.

"What's the chance this space belongs to that Ancient One?" Stark asked, his expression darkening.

"Zero," the Martian Manhunter replied, startling Stark. "I'm certain this space has nothing to do with Kamar-Taj."

"What about the Kamar-Taj students? Where's Superman?" Stark asked after a moment's thought.

"Superman is missing. Only a few Kamar-Taj students remain at their base; the rest are gone. The situation is more dire than we expected," the Martian Manhunter said, his tone grave.
