Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Luring the Enemy Out

Feng Mo concentrated all available T4 starships from his four fleets, splitting them into two formations. The remaining T3 starships continued patrolling the four star systems vigilantly. Half of the T4 fleet assembled in the Storm System, with the Orca and Hurricane as flagships, while the other half stationed in the Beast Roar System under the command of the Stormbringer and Mastodon.

Feng Mo took command on the Stormbringer, while Ai Er led from the Orca.

In the Stormbringer's command center, Feng Mo sat in the captain's chair, eyes fixed on the holographic screen. The Lizard Drake fleet had entered the interstellar space between systems, and two T4 Scorpion-class stealth bombers were tailing it at a distance, ready to launch a surprise attack.

Watching the Lizard Drake fleet advance, Feng Mo smirked. "Let's give them a warm welcome. Show them the hospitality of the Storm Kingdom."

As he finished speaking, a barrage of interstellar missiles and torpedoes seemed to materialize out of nowhere along the Lizard Drakes' path, engulfing the fleet in explosions.

"I wonder if the Lizard Chieftain will appreciate this fireworks display. It's a custom reception prepared just for them," Feng Mo sneered. "After all, the resources in the Lizard Drake System are quite tempting, and the Storm Kingdom is still growing. Time to expand our territory."

Inside the command center of the quasi-T5 Lizard-class battleship, the Lizard Chieftain roared in anger. He had barely entered the interstellar space between the Dark Reef System and the Beast Roar System under orders from the Mechanical Clan, and alarms were already blaring across his fleet.

"Alert! Twelve T5-class ships detected. Fleet is locked on. Maximize shields and activate all close-in defense cannons."

The alarms had barely sounded when the entire fleet was hit by a massive bombardment. Positioned at the center of the twenty T5 Mechanical warships, the Lizard Chieftain's flagship sustained minimal damage. However, the rest of his fleet wasn't so lucky—twelve T5 stealth bombers launched a coordinated strike, decimating his fleet of over 1,400 ships, leaving only about 500 battered survivors.

These twelve T5 bombers were the latest stealth models, inspired by the T4 Scorpions. Uncle Gu had mentioned that the Federation's starship design department had borrowed from Feng Mo's designs for these new bombers, giving the Storm Kingdom a valuable favor. Though the Federation would never publicly admit to this "borrowing," they owed Feng Mo a debt, which they were now repaying.

After the bombers completed their strike, they turned and retreated, leaving Feng Mo to give his next orders.

"T3 Pugilist fleet, fire a volley of missiles. Charge the primary and secondary cannons on all ships. Lock onto all enemy T4 ships. Mastodon, deploy all drones for a saturation strike. Stormbringer, initiate auto-targeting system. Charge the T5-class Cluster Annihilation Cannon and lock onto the enemy flagship."

A flurry of commands followed. Two T3 Pugilist ships launched a thousand T3 interstellar missiles, further devastating the already crippled Lizard Drake fleet.

This bombardment broke their remaining defenses. The T4 Kangaroo ships unleashed their primary and secondary cannons, obliterating nearly a third of the Lizard Drakes' surviving T4 ships. Finally, a concentrated brown beam fired from the Stormbringer, cutting through the battlefield and piercing the Lizard flagship, claiming the Chieftain's life and shattering his ambitions.

In his final moments, the Lizard Chieftain heard the sounds of explosions tearing through his ship's hull. Flames engulfed his command center, leaving him powerless even as a high-tier Level Four Genetic Warrior.

As Feng Mo's relentless assault wiped out the Lizard fleet, the twenty T5 Mechanical warships merely activated their shields without retaliating. The odd passivity made Feng Mo frown.

Then a video communication request came from one of the T5 Mechanical warships. When he accepted, he was surprised to see a human on the screen.

"Greetings, Storm King. Allow me to introduce myself—Lai Heng, commander of the Mechanical Clan's Third Fleet. As you can see, we haven't retaliated, showing our respect for you."

He continued, "You surely understand the purpose of our visit. Surrender, Storm King, and the Mechanical Clan will support you in becoming the Federation's eighteenth great empire. All it requires is the implantation of a small chip."

Feng Mo's inner disdain grew as Lai Heng proposed using a control chip to enslave him. Though the offer sounded appealing, it was an obvious attempt to seize control of him and his territory.

"You present an interesting offer, Commander Lai Heng. Let me make a counter-proposal—are you willing to hear it?"

"Oh? I'm intrigued," Lai Heng replied with a polite nod, curiosity lighting his features.

Feng Mo had already researched Lai Heng's background. The man was the commander of the Mechanical Clan's Third Fleet, equivalent in rank to General Gu, with 1,300 T5-class warships under his command. Lai Heng's composure suggested he was confident of victory.

"Commander Lai Heng, if you and your Third Fleet defect to the Storm Kingdom, I'll personally ensure that you take command of the entire Mechanical Clan in due time."

Feng Mo's words were nothing short of treasonous in the eyes of the Mechanical Clan. As a highly regimented society, the Mechanical Clan had never allowed insubordination or internal power struggles.

Predictably, Lai Heng's expression turned icy. While the Mechanical Clan excelled in mimicry, Lai Heng's fury was as genuine as any human's.

"Storm King, I've addressed you as a king out of respect, but in my eyes, you're a mere insect. You truly believe you can prevail with a handful of T5 ships? Open your eyes!"

At that moment, an alarm blared across the Stormbringer's command center.

"Alert! Radar has detected numerous T5 energy signatures approaching. Confirmed—three hundred T5 Mechanical warships."

Feng Mo's heart leaped. This was an unexpected bounty. He had initially thought only twenty warships were involved, but now it appeared to be a full three hundred and twenty.

Despite his excitement, Feng Mo maintained a grim expression, staring coldly at Lai Heng as he said, "An overwhelming force from the Mechanical Clan. So, what exactly are you after, Commander? Just these four

star systems of the Storm Kingdom, or is it something more?"
