Star Wars: The Rise of New Order

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Leaving Coruscant (3)

(Jayden's PoV)

A month went by after I got my own master, and I officially became a Padawan.

I met with my friends twice in the past month. Though I am living in a different room, we are still all living in the same temple, at least for now.

I say that because of the "mission" we received a week ago.

---

While I was training my skills, my master returned from her meeting. She left early in the morning, saying that she had a meeting with the Jedi Council.

I assumed the worst, but when she told me that only two members would be present, I felt better. If they were punishing her, that decision would have been made by multiple members.

"So, why did the Council call you?" I asked my master, trying to find out what was happening in the temple.

If I know what is happening, I can make plans for what to do.

In fact, I am already creating something to let me monitor every hallway and every room, almost every room in the temple, but it is still in progress for now.

I am creating an AI, which I am building from the bottom, without taking any code from the existing code developed a long time ago.

AI is present in Star Wars, except that it was present in a different manner than is usually seen. The droids, how can they work, talk and even think?

It's because of AI.

Though it was never said in the movies or shows, there are many such AI present in the galaxy, but they are restricted from gaining pure sentience.

This was because of the Droid Uprising that occurred centuries ago, and it was not a one-time event. Most had forgotten about that because that happened so long ago, but restrictions are placed on all manufacturers to make sure that droids don't get full sentience, but that doesn't stop people from doing exactly that.

Anyway, what I was trying to do was to create was not the same AI.

Mine would be a passive AI. There are already security holocoms present everywhere, not just in the temple, but almost every floor, at least on the upper floors. There are a few working on the lower floors, but too far down, dead or destroyed a long time ago.

Now, no one cares to check those floors.

If I want to change the galaxy, the filth from lower floors has to be cleaned, but that would take a lot of resources, which those rich pricks who have been stealing from the people and the republic would pay, but that time is not yet.

Those areas are dangerous. There are many gangs and even some mutant creatures on some of the floors. I don't have a death wish to go there and face them.

When I get my own powerful force, I will clean the world level by level.

For now, I am in the process of creating my own AI, which would access those holocams and would store everything that happens, but that's going to take time. If I use the already existing code, then it would be simple, but it would be vulnerable to the same defects that are present in that old code.

---

"Well, I got a mission", she said when I asked her about it.

"A mission?" I was surprised to hear that the council has already assigned us a mission.

"Yes, but not exactly. There was another team that was dealing with the mission, which is now facing a little trouble. We would be going there to assist them", she said, though her words lacked the enthusiasm of someone who was taking on a mission.

I can understand.

Someone got this mission, and now we are supporting the team that took this mission.

"Oh", I said.

I have no idea what to say, and it would be weird if a ten-year-old gave out sage advice.

So, I asked, "Where is the mission, master?"

"Kashyyk", she said.

"Cool", I muttered.

"Yes, it would be cool soon", she said.

"Huh?" I didn't get her.

Seeing my confused face, she elaborated, "After completing the mission, we would not be returning to the Capital. We were assigned to Pantora".

Pantora, where did I hear that?

Ah, yes, that is a satellite world that is almost at the southern edge of the galaxy. Seriously, we are being sent directly to the edge.

Well, it doesn't matter. The surveillance there would be lower than it was here in the capital. I can make my moves without the Sith, Jedi or the Republic disrupting my plans.

"We would be leaving in a week. So, prepare yourself and say goodbye to your friends, as I don't know when we will be returning", she added.

I nodded in understanding.

---

Since I would be leaving the capital, I have already said goodbye, this time for real.

Also, I have finally been able to learn Force Heal. The skill manifested three days ago on my status. For now, it was enough.

So, leaving now would not be a problem. As of now, I have already packed everything that I have, which is not much. Three sets of Padawan clothes, also some coveralls for the cold, one Jedi Communicator and some tools I need for my Engineering skill.

There are a few items of mine, like the Bank Card and communicator, that I use to talk with my family, etc... but all combined, it only took a small bag.

It is kind of depressing.

Just because the Force blessed us, that doesn't mean we have to forfeit our lives and live like a poor man. This rule is ridiculous. When I have enough strength, this is one of the rules that needed to be removed entirely.

"Are you ready?" my master appeared out of nowhere.

I was startled because I didn't even see her appear until she spoke. It was okay for now because we are in a safe place and this is my master, but what would happen if we were in a dangerous place and we were surrounded by assassins?

I would surely die in such a scenario.

I should always have my guard up.

"I am ready, master", I said with a smile.

My master nodded and led me to her ship, which we would be taking to our destination.
