Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Leaving Coruscant (2)
(Jayden's PoV)
The room where we would be staying was bigger than the room I used to share with three other younglings.
The difference was probably because we were younglings, and the order should have thought that we might not need much space.
Jedi Knights and Masters, on the other hand, were given much space,
"Hmm, are you surprised by how large our room is?" my master asked.
I nodded, clearly not understanding why we were grouped four in a small room, but now, even if I didn't come here, she would have still enjoyed a large, spacious room.
"Haha, you might be thinking that we are given such a large space because we are old. That is not true, but not false either", she said.
"The reason why we get so much space is that this space was used to train. Even Jedi Masters had to train every day to keep up their skills or they would lose their strength over time, but we don't need anyone overseeing our training, nor any distractions due to some viewers", she said.
I immediately understood why there are discrepancies in our facilities.
Unlike younglings, who knew nothing and had to be trained under supervision or else they might lose a limb or two while using their lightsabers, that was not the case for the Knights and Masters.
If such a thing happened, then they could just quit the order and disappear from the world. It would be quite embarrassing if they had such accidents.
Moreover, having an audience could be distracting.
Jedi like to meditate in a calm atmosphere, though being able to meditate while in a turbulent atmosphere is important too.
Even battle training, some might have an enlightenment when they can concentrate fully on something, instead of being disturbed by the viewers all the time.
So, the higher-ups have private quarters which are large enough for them to train.
"Okay, now, go settle in. We would start your training. Oh, I forgot yesterday to ask. You said that you wanted to learn something that requires my presence. What is it?" she asked.
Even I forgot about that yesterday, with me being occupied with so many things like registering myself, then testing my skills and later busy saying goodbyes to my friends.
"I wanted to learn Healing, master", I spoke with a child-like enthusiasm.
Well, I am a child here, and I had to act like that or it might spell trouble for me. Before my memories came, I was a child and acted like one, too, though I was a bit different.
Now, with all those memories, it was quite difficult to act like one. Hope I can quickly become an adult and I can act true to myself.
"You want to learn Force heal, huh?" my master spoke. It was more of a statement than a question.
"I am not one of those healers who was versed in the healing arts, but I can ask someone to teach you", she said.
She didn't ask why I wanted to learn.
As a master, it was not her position to question my motives, as long as they were not harmful. It is how the teaching system should be, but in reality, that was not the case.
Many try to rub what they know onto others. Instead of others learning things, it would become a dump yard in most cases.
"Thank you, master", I thanked her.
"No need to thank me. As your master, it is my duty to help you grow. Anyway, I need to see if anyone is available to teach you healing. Until then, let's concentrate on something else. Take a seat", she said.
I understood that she would be teaching me something. So, I found a seat and focused fully on her.
"A Jedi seeks strength not because they want power. No, they seek strength to serve, serve the Force, the Galaxy and its people. What makes us different from others is not the ability to use Force. So, the fact that we will lay down our lives for strangers without a second thought as long as they are on the right side", she activated her teaching mode and started to teach about the Jedi or at least what they were supposed to be about.

A Week Later...
A week has gone by since I moved in with my master.
As we spent more time together, I came to understand her more.
She is really an outlier of the Order. She doesn't accept many of the decisions that the order is taking, especially in recent decades.
Hearing about so many mistakes made by the order, I can't help but think that the council members are dumb idiots or maybe imposters replaced by the Sith. If only that were the case, could such repetitive mistakes happen?
It was understandable that they made a mistake, because no one is above making mistakes, not even the mystical Jedi.
What sets a smart one and an idiot apart is that Idiots repeat their mistakes, while the smart learn from their mistakes and the mistake won't repeat again.
The Jedi order in recent times has become idiotic.
I believe some idiots have become Council Members, and they made sure that the council was full of idiots. When one of the seats becomes available, they would most likely place someone who sees what they see, instead of someone who sees things differently.
I don't know what Yoda was doing for all these years. He is the Grandmaster of the Jedi Council, but he was failing, no, he failed spectacularly.
I couldn't help but shake my head in disappointment.
Yoda may be a good person and also a favourite character of many fans, but he is a failure as the Grandmaster. Sure, he can't avoid all the mistakes that happened, but instead of learning from those mistakes, the knowledge of them was buried.
Most Jedi wouldn't even know about those mistakes, unless they were there when that happened.
One should know that short-lived races like humans are the most dominant race in the Republic, and that is true even among the Jedi.
Unlike the long-lived races like the race of Yoda, any being from these short-lived races would live a very short life, a maximum of one hundred years or maybe even less.
Unless these stories are passed down, most end up in the restricted sections of the library.
There is a saying that one who can't learn from history is doomed to repeat the same mistakes as in the past. That was what was happening with the Jedi order, which slowly caused the downfall of the Order.
It was why, when the order fell, many celebrated their fall.
If I want to avoid such a situation, I need to change a lot, but to do such things in a decade or so, that too without attracting the attention of the Sith, that is a very tall order, but I intend to give it a try.
At this time, I don't have enough say to matter anyway. So, for the next few years, I should concentrate on improving my personal strength and creating my own force.
I should concentrate on that for now.
