Star Wars: The Rise of New Order

"What are you doing?" Ayla asked Jayden, who came to check up on him.

Jayden, after entering the personal ship, only stayed in the cockpit until the ship entered Hyperspace. This was his first time outside of the temple after the Jedi picked him up from his family.

Sure, his family came to visit him twice, but they could only meet at the temple's civilian areas.

In the temple, there are many workers, not just the Jedi and Droids. Though the temple allowed common people to work in the temple, they were restricted to certain areas. They were not allowed to enter most of the areas of the temple.

The only memories of the outside were either through holovideos or before he arrived at the temple.

So, when he left the temple for the first time, he was interested to see what the world actually looked like. That interest stayed until the ship entered Hyperspace. Once in Hyperspace, he could only see lights, nothing else.

So, he went to his room and decided to spend on meditating or studying, unless it was time to eat.

Ayla let him do whatever he wanted, but she got bored quickly and intruded on Jayden, asking what he was doing.

"I am studying, Master", he replied.

"Oh, what are you reading?" she asked, intrigued about what he was reading so much so that, until she asked him, he didn't even look up when she arrived in his room.

"Anatomy Volume 1", he replied.

She just looked at him in a questioning manner.

"For Force Heal master. If I want to heal injuries better, I need to understand the anatomy of people. The more I understand, the better I can be at healing", he stated.

Ayla nodded but left him after that. She was not interested in the healing. What she was good at was combat, which she went to practise in her room.

The days went by. Luckily, Kashyyyk was on an active hyperlane, though from Corsucant, it was not a straight jump, but nonetheless, it took less time than it would have taken if there were no active hyperlane.

"Welcome to Kashyyyk", a male human greeted the two, Ayla and Jayden, who had just stepped off their ship.

The male human appeared to in a similar age to Ayla and had some paint marks on him. Beside him was a young Twilek, who was a bit older than Jayden.

"Quinlan", Ayla greeted the man.

Hearing the name and looking at the man, Jayden quickly pieced together who the man is. This is Quinlan Vos, someone who has the rare trait of Retrocognition.

Any Force Weilder can use most of the Force Skills, but a few people can step further. They have some rare traits like this one.

Due to this trait, Vos can see the memories of someone by touching an item belonging to the person. There are restrictions, though, like the memory would be restricted to the time and place where that object was present. Also, with time, the chances of retrieving memories would fade, unless the trait is strong or the object is not a normal object.

This trait has other names like Force Echo, Sense Echo or Psychometry.

"So, Quinlon was the Jedi assigned to this mission. If he were involved, I think either it would be fun or dangerous. Though many times, the line between those blurred", Jayden mused to himself, but made sure that his face didn't show any changes.

Jayden's eyes then turned towards the young girl who was standing beside Quinlon.

"A Blue-skin Twilek, is she her?" Jayden wondered in his mind.

Jayden was not sure, but he felt that her age seemed to be closer to the person in his mind. Almost everything was in line with her. So, he believed it to be her.

"It's nice to meet you again, Ayla. It has been years since we met", Vos spoke.

"That was lucky, especially with how the order sees us, mainly you", Ayla said.

The two were not considered to come under the norms of the Jedi Order. So, the times they are at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant can only be counted on a single hand, after their training has finished.

This was not true for others.

As the heart of the Jedi Order, most Jedi stay at the Coruscant Temple, unless they have a mission to take care of, but that was not true for Jedi like Vos, who doesn't act like the Jedi of today.

"Well, it is what it is, Ayla. The Jedi need to change, but they keep themselves in the past, and I fear that one day they will stay in the past for real, which is something not everyone sees", Vos lamented.

Ayla agreed with him, nodding her head.

"Anyway", he shook his head, "Let's first discuss about why we are here. Oh, and this is my Padawan, Aayla Secura", Quinton introduced the girl beside him to Ayla and Jayden.

He then turned to his apprentice, "Secura, this is Master Ayla Ventra and her Padawan....ah, what's your name?"

"This is Jayden Arkent. It's nice to meet you, Master Quinlon", Jayden introduced himself.

Normally, when others say one's name, it is their last name that is mentioned. Only someone who knew them better would use the first name.

The problem was that Jayden's master had not voiced out his full name, just his first name.

Though he knew who the man was, he couldn't act as if he knew, or else his secret as a reincarnator would be out. If such a secret were known to others, there are many maniacs present in the galaxy who would want to know the secrets that a reincarnator knows.

Though they might not have faced a reincarnator before, there are more than a few who are interested in anything that spells unique, whether that is an item or a creature or even if that unique being was a civilised being.

This fear made him pay attention when one was speaking around him.

Though he was thinking about the future hottie who made a lot of fans that was standing before him, he paid attention to what his master and Quinlon spoke.

If he suddenly called him master Vos, that would have spelt trouble.

A small slip-up like this would unravel everything about him, which he was not interested in happening.

So, even if he didn't know the man personally, he could only use the name that his master spilt without adding anything else.

Jayden then greeted Aayla Secure as well, to be polite. She is young now, and even then she is beautiful. In a few years, she would become a hottie. So, creating a good impression of me at this time would go a long way.

Aayla greeted Jayden's master and him as well.

Once the greetings were done, Ayla spoke, "So, what is this mission that Quinlon Vos needs help with?" she asked with a bit of sarcasm and puzzlement as well.

Quinlon went on to describe the mission to the two new arrivals.
