Star Wars: the purge

Chapter 23: Regreat (7)

Greivous wasted no time, rushing toward Vincent at speeds that should not have been possible if not for his mechanical legs. Putting all his strength into his first attack Greivous performs a deverstingly powerfull downward slash.

Vincent seeing the first move as nothing but brute force on his part. Brings himself into a defensive stance locking his footing in place. As the strike draws near Vincent move his electrostaff over his head blocking Greivous attack entirely.

The ground slightly cracked under the pressure of the attack that was delivered,

an action that once again proved just how much strength general Grievius applied to his first attack.

But with any overly powerfull attack the user is left slightly of balance and prone to a counter attack. An action that Vincent exploited, tilting his electrostaff to one side and using the end of the staff to send a light jab directly into his opponents chest.

Being struck Greivous jumps back realising that he had overestimated his ability a little. Believing that the only induvidles that could compete with him, where the jedi. And action that he now regreat slightly as he watched Vincent go on the offensive chasing after him and sending quick well calculated strikes toward Greivous.

Each strike that Vincent sent towards Greivous were made in the hopes of gadging the full capability of his advercery.

Greivous now confronting an enemy that had the pertental to best him in close combat, decided to hold nothing back himself blocking, dodging or parrying each amd everyone of Vincent's precise attacks.

Resting her back on a nearby tree Shaak Ti could be seen watching this fight with analytical eyes. As the fight only intensified with time, it become clear to Shaak Ti that if she had to fight either one of these two she would most likely have lost by this point.

A proposition that did not sit comfortably with her. Being one of the best jedi masters in terms of light saber combat, she came to the realisation that during the extended time of peace she had not given the amount of effort that she once believed she had.

Taking this encounter between two induvidles with no connection to the force out preform her gave her a new perspective. One that she would not take for granted in the future.

Keeping her gaze constantly fixed on the battle before her, if she made out alive from this mission she would take this lesson with her, allowing it to further forge herself, so that she would never again feel this sense of lose.

During this battle it was becoming rather obvious that Greivous held a huge advantage over Vincent. The light saver was a wepoan with no equal in combat, each swing of the weapon could cut its opponent in two and render most other weapons ineffective.

Vincent before entering combat Understood this bearing weakness that he held during this fight. But the electrostaff had its own advantages, the ability to direct high volts of electricity toward his opponent. This was a an advantage the weapon that held not only to sentient being but machines as well.

With this in mind Vincent directed any strike that he could land toward Greivous's left arm, with the hope of inflicting enough damage to render his arm unusable.

And action that from Vincent's perspective was showing success. With each strike he landed Greivous's attack speed and strength was becoming adamant.

Greivous also seeing Vincent's intentions, was now becoming increasingly desperate. Looking into his crimson eyes all he could see was the cold and calculating eyes, that analysed each and everyone of his attack with ease as the battle continued. A fact that Greivous could not accept, he had been trained in the 9 different light saber forms by count Dooku. His moves should be rather hard to predict.

So for Vincent to ba able to calculate and read his attacks it left Greivous rather stumped and out of options. Both opponents could tell that this fight would end as soon as Vincent gaind the upper hand.

And with Vincent's next corse of action that was exactly what happened. Directing an attack toward Greivous's right leg, preventing himself from losing balance he moves his two light sabers in defence.

But in the next second he felt a pain jolt through his body, and the loss of function in his left arm. A action that left him paralysed momentarily.

Greivous watched in horror as Vincent with a blue light saber in his hand directed an extremely fast upward slash toward his left side. Mustering all the strength he could Greivous tried to dodge. An action that would save his life.

While saving his life Greivous could not come out unscathed form Vincent's devertating attack. Looking over to his left side his eyes wided in horror witnessing his missing arms that now decorated that landscape.

" it look like you lose this time general Grievius. Surrender peacefully, don't make this any harder then it needs to be." Vincent commented in a tone lacking any emotion as a wicked grim could be seen spread across his face, as he watched the suffering of his opponent.

Without even thinking Greivous turned around a began to flee with every once of strength his had available. There was no chance that he would ever surrender to the Republic.

Vincent seeing his enemy rum for his life, rolled over to the side picking up his blaster rifle before taking aim toward Greivous. Firing of a few shots with deadly accuracy Vincent manages to land a few hit on Greivou. Making him stable slightly but was able to get out of range before he could fore any more shot.

" were do you think your running Greivous. You better pry to what ever God you believe that I don't find you."

Clicking his tonge Vincent turns toward master Shaak Ti. Handing over the light saber that she sent toward Vincent, she believed that it would be his best chance to finish of his opponent.

Putting on a kind smile and locking eyes with her." Thank Shaak Ti, for having enough trust in me that you would allow myself to use the wepoan of the jedi."

Vincent was no fool he understood what this action meant. A jedi are put through many trials and training to be able weild one of thir own. To hand it over to anyone was an action of extreme trust.

" it is trust that you have earned over the last couple of days I would say." Shaak Ti couldn't help but admit as she gazed apon Vincent with new light.

Dropping to the ground and resting ghis back against the same tree as her." The mission should be almost complete, you should rest up regain your strength before we continue forward."

Deciding to ask what was in her mind she speaks." Once we return to Coruscant would you like join me for sparing practise. I believe we could gain a lot from such an action.

Turing hisbl gaze toward her a charming smile graced his face." It would be my honour to be able to do so. And an invitation that I find rather pleasant."
