Star Wars: the purge

Chapter 24: Regreat (8)

The remainder of the mission was of no importance from Vincent's perspective. As once Shaak Ti and Vincent finally arrived that mission location, the objective had already been completed some time ago.

Though the clones under master Shaak Ti's command were relived that she had survived an encounter with the legendary Jedi killer general Grievius. The clones and officers of the Republic really couldn't imagine the repercussions if such a tragedy had befallen her.

Returning back to Coruscant after completing their mission. They were met with a wide range of responses from both the Jedi council and the senate. Most of which was the high praise that was showered apon them for their outstanding ability to repel general Grievius, an action that many have tried over the years but none have really ocomplished. A fact that only went to help bolster their already high reputation in the eyes of the public.

As time continued to pass by small changes where taking place. One of the most important bring that master Shaak Ti made numerous request to the jedi council to have Vincent transferred so that they could be able to work alongside each other more often.

A prospect that slightly baffled the jedi council, but a suggestion that was seen with favourable eyes. As they hoped this would allow the council to strengthen ties with Vincent who had the pertental to be a threat to the jedi order.

Months started to pass by and Vincent life became rather consistent. With most his time revolving around the Republic army. But with his transfer he was now able to spend most of his working hours fighting along side master Shaak Ti.

Vincent found that when he was not sent on missions, he was spending a increasingly large amount of time at the jedi temple.

True to Shaak Ti's words Vincent was constantly being asked to assist her with training. Vincent become her sparing partner over these months and he would watch with great intreast as she would rapidly improve as though a fire had been lit under her.

But with an increse of time spent together they both learnt a very important lesson that would change their lives going forward.

Vincent learnt his lesson sooner then she had. And that lesson was that you could not make someone fall in love with you, without yourself falling in love as well. A prospect that he had naively overlooked months prior.

Shaak Ti had many asspect that begain to attract his attention. She was both an extremely component and was slow to anger person while being rather patient, she was also extremely driven and strong worrier that would put all her effort into growing stronger. Prospects that Vincent found both commendable and attractive in a partner.

While Shaak Ti on the other hand was learning that putting duty before one's self could be an audacious task.

Putting the code of the jedi, a code that she had followed most of her life. Against the prospect of truly finding love that she had managed to avoid all her life.

The feeling of love and attraction toward Vincent had begun slowly and subtlety. But over time as the more they spent together she was finding these feelings more difficult to supress.

And like a dam ready to burst she could no longer repress this overwhelming feeling. She would either have to sever all connections with Vincent and lose part of herself. Or she would have to take the next brave step and make her intentions clear.

And during one of their sparing sessions Shaak Ti finally come to the conclusion of what she found most important.

Taking a rather drastic action she pulled Vincent into a kiss. " I know you have been waiting for me to make my choice for some time now. So I hope this is the answer that we where both hoping for."

Smiling kindly,Vincent returnd the kiss." No matter how long it took, I would have waited for you. You have become that special to me now."

Though outwardly their relationship hadn't changed, nothing could be further from the truth. Skaak Ti finally discovering love could hardly separate herself from Vincent in the following week.

As first week of their relationship was coming to a close, Vincent managed to find time to share with his friend Anakin for the first time in awhile.

Seeing Vincent walk toward him with an overly smug look plastered on his face, Anakin could feel the irritation and worry steadly growing inside himself.

Inside his private quarter Anakin said his greetings." It's been to long Vincent, how have you been."

" better than I thought I would be after my transfer. But speaking of which Anakin I believe that I have one our little bet." Vincent responds with the smugest look Anakin had ever seen.

Not wanting to admit defeate so quickly." Those are some bold word Vincent,do you atleast have evidence to back up your claim."

Laughing slightly at his friend inability to accept his words." Very well then Anakin how about this, with you and Padme are both free tomorrow evening are you no."

Narrowing his eyes and looking at Vincent." That is correct."

" Then how about we partake in a double date tomorrow, would that be enough proof for you."

A look of uncertainly washed over Anakins face." You of all people should know the secretary involved in our types of relationships now more then ever."

" worry not young Skywalker I have booked an entire restaurant for tomorrow evening. One that I also own, so no information will be revealed."

Sighing in exasperation Anakin finally relents." Very well have it your way. I'll try my best to convince Pande by tomorrow."

With their discussion over leaves the jedi temple. He had much to prepare for the upcoming date. He would first need to convince Shaak Ti that this would be a good idea. A thought that he believed would be much easier then it was to convince Anakin and his overly cautious nature.
