The beach had settled into a brief moment of serenity, The Titans were having fun talking to Didi around the fire and against the shore.

Then came the sound.

A shadow tore through the sky above, a falling black comet that screamed through the air and then it landed with a boom.

Doom.

The ground quaked beneath the monstrous impact. Sand exploded outward in a swirling geyser of ash and dust. The campfire was obliterated, towels and drinks scattered everywhere. Doom rose slowly, shoulders heaving, violet eyes burning with force. His spiked arms flexed once, sending a pulse of silent dread across the group.

Cyborg coughed, brushing sand off his shoulder, the glow of his arm cannon igniting reflexively. "What the hell? Did Arthur send him, or did he finally lose control of this thing?"

"We were literally about to walk back to the villa all clean and now…" Dick muttered, narrowing his eyes. "Hold on.. is this thing is blocking the path.."

Doom didn't move.

He simply stood there, square in their path, shoulders broad enough to blot out the moonlight behind him. His eyes flicked between them like a judge sizing up unworthy challengers.

Beast Boy pointed a shaky finger. "Okay, can we talk about the fact that he's just standing there glaring at us like we insulted his mother?"

Jaime started forward, cautiously. "Other than ruining half the beach.. he doesn't look hostile... maybe he'll step away if we just ask?" He took a tentative step.

Doom flexed his right hand.

Just a gesture.

But Jaime froze like he'd been slapped with a memory. "Okay. Definitely not a good idea," he said, backing away. "Let's just… wait for Arthur to put this thing on a leash..."

Cyborg frowned. "Didn't he say he was going to bed? What's the meaning of this."

Unseen by most, Robin subtly signaled Starfire who was a bit far from the rest away from Doom's eyes. A glance. A nod. She got the message.

Something was wrong to Robin. Arthur said he was going to sleep but summoned Doom?

That wasn't normal.

Starfire rose into the air without a word, her body trailing golden light as she silently flew past them, unnoticed in the shadows of Doom's towering presence.

He didn't notice her.

She flew low, quick, like a scout. Past the trees, toward the villa. A single window glowed faintly.

She hovered.

And then she looked inside.

Her face turned beet red.

Eyes wide. Lips parted slightly in shock. Her hand instinctively raised to her mouth.

She turned and flew back fast so fast that the breeze trailed behind her like a miniature sonic boom. When she landed back at the beach, it was with a hard stomp just beside Doom. Without saying a word, she walked past him like a woman who had just seen a demons and wasn't ready to talk about it. Even Doom was confused.

Robin blinked as she approached and he whispered to her. "That was quick.. so what's wrong?"

Starfire opened her mouth… then closed it. She fidgeted, her hands clutched together in front of her like she was holding back a scream. "They… Arthur is…" she trailed off, cheeks still flaming.

Robin tilted his head. "Wait, they?"

She nodded, face buried in her hands now.

"Oh." His eyes widened slightly. "So they're…"

Starfire nodded again, this time furiously.

But before they could spiral further into an awkward talk,

Another footsteps, calm and precise, approached from the darkened edge of the beach. The one who was watching this entire thing without saying anything.

Didi.

She walked barefoot across the sand, not a grain clinging to her skin.

Doom turned his head toward her.

A moment of tension.

Then he stepped aside.

Silently.

The others exchanged wide-eyed glances.

"Wait—what?" Cyborg muttered. "He moved for her?"

Didi approached Doom with no fear, just the soft sway of someone who had already seen way too much and experienced lifetimes. She looked up at him, smiling gently, and placed a hand against his massive chest.

'There's no need to guard. I'll ensure your Master's privacy is respected.'

Doom said nothing but his body language shifted subtly. The tension bled from his stance alone.

Beastboy took a cautious step closer to Didi. "Okay, but how did you—why did he—how are you—"

Didi tilted her head. "Wouldn't you like to know?"

She turned and sat gracefully on a smooth rock by the shore, folding her hands on her lap. Her eyes those bottomless, dark eyes looked toward the villa, as if she could see straight through walls, through time, through all illusions.

Cyborg finally broke the silence. "I need a damn manual for this group of people, and I mean Arthur's people."

Beast Boy groaned. "So we sleeping here tonight ? in the sand ?."

Doom remained silent and glaring.

But in the strange moonlight, The Shadow Marshall frame seemed... rather peaceful.

And laughter could faintly be heard from the villa. warm, private, human.

And Didi smiled.

Back in the villa, Arthur stood near the wide glass window, shirtless now. The moonlight painted silver lines along his shoulders, his chest rising slowly as he listened, listened not with his ears, but with something deeper.

Behind him, he felt them.

Kara entered first, barefoot on the marble, her figure traced in starlight through the thin robe she'd thrown on. She hesitated, but not out of fear, she hesitated because for once in her life, her strength didn't mean control.

Raven followed, silent as always, but her presence was different tonight, less guarded. Her eyes were already on him, their violet depths deeper than any magic. She didn't speak.

Arthur turned slowly. A small, knowing smile curved his lips.

"I thought you'd need more time, especially you since we already... you know" he said.

Raven didn't answer at first. Her gaze dropped to the faint scar on him one that healed but never vanished. A memory of battle.

"It was your voice," she said finally, quietly. "It kept echoing in my head, you sure you don't have this ability ?"

Kara stepped beside her, her arms folded, eyes locking with Arthur's.

"I told her we could ignore it. Pretend we didn't hear what you said outside," she added, smirking faintly. "But she wouldn't let me."

Arthur chuckled softly. "Of course she wouldn't, we already had..."

Raven flushed. And Arthur didn't finish his words.

Kara looked away, biting her lip. "I wanted to know if you truly meant it."

Arthur stepped toward them, slow and deliberate. His shadow reached them before he did. His voice lowered. Honest.

"I did," he said. "I want to spend one more night here with the people I came to care about." then he added sarcastically "And I didn't mean beastboy."

His hand reached out not to grab, but to invite. Kara took it first.

And suddenly it was real.

Kara leaned into him, her forehead resting against his chest, her breath unsteady. "I don't know how to do this Arthur," she whispered.

Arthur gently lifted her chin and smiled. "Follow your instincts I guess, I'm sure Kryptonians are not so different in this matter."

Raven stepped closer, close enough that her fingers brushed Arthur's arm, lingering. Her lips parted as if to speak, but instead she moved her hand cupping his jaw gently, her mouth finding his in a kiss that wasn't rushed or desperate. It was slow. Exploring. Testing the truth of his words.

Arthur didn't hesitate. He deepened the kiss, his hands wrapping around her waist. Kara watched, heart pounding, but she didn't pull away. She moved to his side, her hand gliding along his back, and Arthur turned, kissing her next to her surprise.

Kara gasped softly against his mouth, fingers curling in his hair as the fire of the fireplace danced across their bodies. It was Raven who reached for Kara then pale hand slipping behind the blonde's neck, guiding her forward. Their lips met in a hesitant brush, then again, more certain.

Arthur stood between them, eyes violet with restrained hunger, He simply was grounding them both "Well I... certainly didn't expect this."

Raven pulled back slightly, breathless. Kara rested her head against Arthur's shoulder, the space between them nonexistent now.

"I've always known how you look at her," Raven said softly.

Arthur nodded. "And you?"

Raven looked away. "I always thought you'd choose the sun."

Kara frowned. "and I thought he'd choose the moon… but we were both wrong apparently, Arthur is too greedy."

Arthur kissed Raven again. "I don't want to choose," he murmured against her lips. "I'm a Monarch."

Kara pushed him into a bed, Arthur likewise pulled her in with Ruler's Authority that totally caught her off guard, and then she kissed him fiercer, more forward. Her fingers curled in his hair, her body pressed against his more fully now, legs brushing his. Arthur responded in kind, his other hand pulling her in, palm sliding up her back, drawing her to him until their skin was nearly flush.

Raven didn't retreat as she jumped in with them as well. She trailed her lips down his neck instead, kissing just beneath his jawline, her hands flat against his stomach. Arthur exhaled a slow breath, the sensation of both of them overwhelming and too great even to The Monarch of Shadows, Raven's dark intensity, Kara's bright fire, both pressing in, claiming, sharing.
