Rise Of The Unworthy Trillionaire Son-in-law

Chapter 9: The Messenger

In that tense moment, Ethan's heart raced faster than a sports car while Catalina stood by his side, waiting to see what was bound to happen next, but to their surprise, Agent Lorenzo and his men rushed in with their guns on high alert.

"Mrs. Catalina and Lord Ethan, we need to get you out of here, an intruder is approaching from the east wing of the hospital, he took down three of our men and he's moving like a ghost, he has shut down the power!" Agent Lorenzo revealed in anxiety as the nurses quickly rolled in a wheelchair for Ethan who could barely utter a word in fear.

"The intruder has help from the outside, a sniper is around the corner, we must act quickly," another agent confessed.

"They are trying to kill you Ethan, we must get you out of here before it's too late, they are here to end the Bianchi true bloodline!" Catalina screamed as she grabbed hold of her purse, taking out a small customized gun.

Three other guards came with shields as they wheeled Ethan through the corridors. The nurses directed the team through an exit that led straight to the garage while Ethan had his heart in his mouth as he tried to make sense of everything that was happening in the blink of an eye.

"Secure the perimeter, get the freaking power back on, the true heir is being moved to safety!" Agent Lorenzo informed his men through his mouthpiece with his eyes on high alert as they moved quickly.

"Where are you taking me to Catalina?, the killer of my parents wants me dead, I don't want to run, I want to see his face and know the devil he has become!" Ethan thundered in anger as tears gathered in his eyes, his heart couldn't take the adrenaline and fear all rushing towards him.

"We have to get you to safety, you're in no shape to face the killer or fight the conspiracy going on at the moment, it's my duty to ensure you're alive for the biggest moment of your life, I swore to keep you safe and I won't let you slip off my fingers!" Catalina revealed as they moved faster.

"There are innocent lives back at that hospital, they need protection from that monster!" Ethan protested as he tried to stop them but his requests were denied.

"My men are restoring the power and securing the hospital's forces, I assure you my lord that no life will be lost today but we must protect yours first. Your destiny is far greater than any of us here!" Agent Lorenzo revealed.

They moved with haste but stopped abruptly as they neared the convoy.

"There's the intruder!, secure the last heir!" Lorenzo screamed as his guards protected Ethan with their bulletproof shields while he moved forward with his trained men.

"Drop your weapon and this can end nicely!" one of the agents warned as they neared the man dressed in a black coat with a hat covering his face.

"Don't kill him Lorenzo, I need him alive!" Ethan screamed.

"I'm sorry my Lord but I have to put down anyone I consider a threat to your life!"

"Lorenzo, I order you to stand down now!, I order you as the true son of Salvatore Bianchi!, stand the fuck down!!!" Ethan thundered, his voice echoing through the thick walls of the garage.

"Agent Lorenzo, take your shot!" Catalina ordered with fury in her eyes.

"You won't dare Lorenzo, my orders are final!" Ethan thundered again.

"Enough of these tantrums, I'm not here to spill blood today, I only bring a message from my master!" the coated intruder screamed as he laid down his guns with his hands in the air.

"Take me closer!" Ethan ordered one of the nurses who slowly moved him with shields guarding his every step.

"And what message do you have for me?, who sent you on this perilous mission, you are a fool to take up such a task!"

The coated man smiled as he took off his hat, revealing his face with scars and an eye patch covering his left eye.

"I fear you're the one who's a fool to abandon your family and come back when your empire is about to crumble. It's a sheer pity to watch Salvatore's Empire fall into incompetent hands."

"Speak your message before those words of yours become your last!" Ethan warned as he grew impatient.

"The board of directors are ready to elect a new leader, one that will take up the seat as the new CEO, the new ruler and head of the Bianchi Empire. Everyone has waited but you never returned and they are finally ready to move on. My master sent me to inform you to back out of the election if you value your life and wish to leave peacefully, and in exchange, a reward of a hundred million dollars will be paid into any foreign account of your choice!" the man said firmly while everyone stared at him in shock, no one saw this coming, not even from a mile away.

"This is a sacrilege!" Catalina muttered in utter disbelief.

"This is the message I bring to you Mr. Ethan, son of Salvatore Bianchi, I wish you well," the man said and turned to leave when Agent Lorenzo shot close to his feet.

"Stay where you are, you pathetic bastard!" Lorenzo cursed.

Different emotions ran through the hearts of everyone who dared to listen to the message, but Ethan remained unflinching, he had seen hell and back and survived through all of the hurdles.

"Send word to your master that the true heir has returned, tell him that I have come to claim my inheritance and to take control of the empire. If he dares to stand in my way, then he has signed his death wish!" Ethan revealed without an atom of fear in his voice.

"We can't let him leave!, we have to take him hostage and find out who he serves, seize him!" Catalina ordered.

"No Catalina, I want him to deliver my message!"

The messenger had a faint grin as he walked out majestically until his image faded away.

"How can the board of directors do this?, this is madness, they can't elect a leader when the true bloodline of Salvatore Bianchi still runs!" Catalina muttered but Ethan had his face down, lost in thoughts.

"I have failed them, they have lost faith, everyone considers me dead except the man who aims for my inheritance, it won't take long before I'm struck with the first hit," Ethan revealed.

In that moment, Ethan realized the die had been cast and to claim his inheritance, he would have to fight for it.

But just as he lifted his eyes to speak again.

A single bullet tore through the air, smashing into the shield before him, inches from his chest.

Everyone froze.

From the rooftop of another building, a cold voice echoed through a speaker

"The countdown has begun, heir of Bianchi. Let's see how long you survive."
