Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 286: Isaiah Talks

Katari pulled on the metal bar slightly, opening the already unlocked gate. As someone who Kael had already given a level of privilege within the pyramid, Katari was able to open most doors she laid her hands on.

The cage gate opened slowly, Katari intentionally took her time to open it so as to tap into the gut feeling of dread within Isaiah.

For Isaiah, it felt like every second was an eternity. The gate was finally opened outward.

Katari stepped into the medium-sized cage used for captivating creatures like Isaiah. The cage was small, it was enough for someone like Kael to stand upright but not enough to move around easily.

The whole cage was about five feet wide, just enough space for Isaiah to feel comfortable sitting on the floor.

Seeing Katari moving toward him, Isaiah pressed his back harder on the wall. He wished more than anything for his powers to come back so that he could disappear from here.

But no matter how he tried, he couldn't summon his powers.

Katari stopped in front of him, looking down at him expressionlessly. Her empty dark eyes observed the humanoid, scanning him carefully.

"The king would like to meet you one last time," She said ominously.

Her words hit Isaiah's mind like a wrecking ball, causing tears to start streaming from his eyes down his cheeks.

"P-eashe!" Isaiah said using the lion language, confusing Katari as she had not yet fully grasped this language.

Isaiah had lost all his powers and that included his ability to use telepathy. He was as ordinary as ordinary can be.

But his tongue had also been cut off, making his lion linguistics sound off and unrecognizable.

Without wasting more words, Katari leaned forward and stretched her right arm down toward Isaiah's neck.

Isaiah panicked, opening his eyes wide with horror. It was really happening. Xu Ying and the rest should have just killed him, he didn't want to be here at all.

He raised his left hand, the only hand he had now, to stop Katari's approaching hand.

His fingers wrapped around her wrist and his muscles tensed as he prepared to resist with all his might.

Alas, he failed. It was like an ordinary human trying to stop a truck from moving, it just wouldn't happen.

Katari's hand easily ignored whatever effort Isaiah was trying to make and casually reached his neck.

"Noooooooooo!" Isaiah screamed and instinctively used his chis to block her hand. Katari still moved her hand, brushing his head aside and almost dislocating his jaw in the process.

Ignoring the pain, Isaiah moved erratically using his one leg to kick at Katari's knees. Instead of doing anything to stop her, this only seemed to annoy Katari slightly.

Her hand was like the inevitable hand of god, her fingers wrapped around Isaiah's soft neck without any problem.

In one fluid motion, she lifted him up like he was a defenseless chicken, even she was surprised at how weak Isaiah had gotten.

It was pitiful.

It was disgusting.

She turned around, pulling the defenseless Isaiah by the neck and dragging him over the floor.

Isaiah kicked the floor and the walls with his legs, creating loud clanking sounds that disrupted the eerie silence of the kitchen.

"Bring him here," Kael's telepathic voice brushed into both their minds.

"Aaaaaaaah!" Isaiah screamed when he heard that voice, suffering seemed closer than he thought.

Katari casually brought the struggling humanoid out of the cage as though she was about to prepare it for supper.

She walked to the marble-top island in the center of the kitchen, raising Isaiah up and 'gently' slamming him down on the marble surface.

Isaiah felt his intestines dance around inside him while blood trickled down the corner of his lips.

He had his back on the marble surface, his one eye facing the dark and high ceiling with a few glowing gems shining dim light from above.

Katari held him down, her fingers were clasped around his neck and her claws had begun to dig into his skin. With just one arm, one eye, and one leg, he could not do anything.

Then, Kael's face appeared in his vision like the arrival of the grim reaper, bringing with him the promise of imaginable pain.

"Hmm, you've suffered," Kael started with a cold expression. He placed his hand on Isaiah's shoulder, running his clawed fingers down the skin until they were at the edge of the stump where his arms used to be.

Tears streamed down the side of Isaiah's face. If he was assured an easy death, he wouldn't be that scared, even if it was beheading him.

He might not know much about Kael but he knew that Kael would definitely not give him an easy death.

"Look, Katari," Kael said, "They've cut one of his arms and one of his legs and removed one of his eyes. They've deprived of us torture material," Kael's tone was sad, he seemed genuinely upset that Isaiah was missing those limbs.

Katari nodded her head too. She too wished for Isaiah to still have his eyes, she preferred to have ripped it out herself.

"Your Majesty, there's still one eye, one arm, one leg, and the torso is still intact, we can manage that," Katari said with a serious expression.

Hearing the concession of how they were planning to torture him, Isaiah wanted to kill himself, but he couldn't he didn't have that ability anymore.

His tongue had been cut off so he couldn't even use that.

Kael looked down at Isaiah, his beautiful golden eyes staring softly into Isaiah's, like a father looking at a child who had done something very bad.

"Isaiah, I have some questions for you," Kael said, "I cannot guarantee that I will spare you because I absolutely wish to kill you.

However, if you answer my questions well, I will consider giving you a quick death."

Isaiah didn't know how to react to this new development, was he supposed to be happy that he was still going to die?

"Your choice, be fast, I don't have much patience," Kael urged as his golden-clawed finger easily pierced into the skin of the stump.

Isaiah nodded slowly, it was better than nothing.

Kael smiled mischievously, "That's good.

Do you remember that day when you plotted your revenge? You must have burned with righteous fury right? Now look at you.

You should have never looked back, Isaiah.

But that's that…"

Kael then opened his mouth, "Do you recognize this language?" He asked using the lion language.

Isaiah only needed a second to think of his answer before he nodded to affirm that he recognized the language. It was the only language he knew of.

Kael already knew that Isaiah could speak the language, he had heard him and Darius speaking it in the past and Chloe said that she usually heard Isaiah speak it back then.

Kael just wanted to test Isaiah's willingness to cooperate.

"Where did you learn it from?" Kael asked, returning back to telepathy so that Katari could hear what he was saying.

"From Darius," Isaiah responded.

Kael nodded, one of his guesses was confirmed.

"And where did Darius learn it from?" He asked.

"He told me it was from his birthplace, I don't know where it is," Isaiah said using Kael's telepathic channel to talk.

Kael narrowed his eyes, he could sense that Isaiah wasn't lying but he was also omitting some things.

He resisted the temptation to extract his memories.

"Isaiah, when I ask you something, I want you to tell me everything you know. I mean everything. If you leave anything out, I will know." Kael said.

Isaiah nodded. He felt reluctant to talk about this but he had to. Revenge for Darius was what got him here in the first place, he had done enough for Darius already.

"Are you sure you don't know anything else about where Darius came from?" Kael asked again.

Isaiah thought for a moment before answering, "He occasionally described the place to me in the past." Isaiah said.

"Tell me," Kael commanded.

"He said the trees there had bright pink leaves instead of green. The pink leaves would fall to the ground at certain times of the year, creating a beautiful scene all year round.

The atmosphere was not as damp as the forest's, that's how he would describe it."

"Go on," Kael said.

"He said that the region had more of his kind over there than here. They lived around a strange structure that he said was put there by the ancient tigers.

He was always very vague about that structure, talking a lot about how something seemed wrong with it…" Isaiah said as he recalled Darius telling him those words on the mountaintop.

Kael took in a deep breath, Chloe was right, the Arkship was definitely on this planet and it seemed the tigers were living close to it.

The king looked down at Isaiah with a gentle gaze. Isaiah had given him the information he wanted, and he appreciated that.

"Katari, we shall start from his anus," Kael said, his words dropping like the scythe of the grim reaper.
