Rebirth Counterattack: I Heard That the Imperial Marshal Has a Crush on Me

Chapter 204

After they had finished talking, they removed the space illusion device. Chu Muxi woke up from a nap on the sofa and stretched.

Before Christie returned to the house, he didn’t forget to joke, “If that guy Lu Junzhi finds out about us living in the same house, I’ll probably have to run away.”

Chu Muxi glanced at him meaningfully, and Christie suddenly felt that something was not right. He had an idea and looked at Chu Muxi carefully.

“Your hair is messed up,” he said suddenly, reaching out and fiddling with the hair on his forehead. “Okay, Ximu, if I looked carefully—your skin is pretty good.”

Chu Muxi glared at him and waved his hand away. “Don’t touch my head.”

Christie laughed. “Okay, okay, adolescent boys, I understand.”

.

When Christie came out of the house, he was back to being Casey again.

“How did you sleep?” Casey asked, picking up a bottle of water, opening it, and taking two sips before addressing Chu Muxi, who was sitting on the sofa.

Chu Muxi nodded. “It’s okay.”

“You’re such a big-hearted kid; you can sleep anywhere,” Casey teased.

Chu Muxi raised his eyes and looked at him. “I can sleep in places much worse than this. Why couldn’t I sleep here?”

Casey suddenly couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry. “You little brat, you always know how to get the last word.”

While the two were talking, they heard someone outside the door raising their voice, asking, “Mr. Casey, our boss is asking if you’re awake?”

Casey replied, “I’m awake.”

“Boss asking you to please come over. The guests have started arriving,” the man said respectfully.

Casey responded, “Coming right away.” He turned to Chu Muxi and said, “Let’s go.”

Chu Muxi nodded and followed him outside.

When they reached the door, Chu Muxi stepped forward and opened it.

Casey crossed him and walked out, where two of Vincent’s subordinates were standing respectfully at the door.

“Mr. Casey, our boss invites you to the arena,” one of them said immediately upon seeing Casey

Casey nodded. “Lead the way.”

Chu Muxi followed him quietly, returning to his taciturn demeanour outside. The two of them followed Vincent’s subordinates all the way back to the arena.

Vincent was already waiting at the door. When he saw them, he opened his arms. “How are you? Did you sleep well, brother?”

Casey shrugged. “It was okay; I don’t recognize the bed.”

Vincent glanced thoughtfully at Chu Muxi, who was following closely behind. “How did you sleep, Xiao Ximu? You don’t have trouble recognizing the bed, do you? If the sofa was uncomfortable, I could change your room.”

He said it carelessly, as though he didn’t think there was anything wrong with having installed the monitors.

He also seemed confident that Casey must have found the location of the monitors but was unfazed as he addressed them with a smile.

“Thank you, no need. I’m not picky,” Chu Muxi replied lightly, refusing to give any face.

But Vincent didn’t care about his attitude and instead smiled even more heartily. “If you don’t like it, just tell me anytime, and I’ll be happy to take care of those little troubles for you.”

“Okay, Vincent, stop teasing him. So, how many people did you invite?” Casey interrupted, glancing at the passage behind him.
