Rebirth Counterattack: I Heard That the Imperial Marshal Has a Crush on Me

Chapter 205

Vincent led Casey and Chu Muxi deep into the passage. After entering, he noticed that there were boxes lined up one by one inside.

They stopped at the door of a box, and Vincent smiled and said, “Go in.”

He opened the door behind him and gestured for Casey to enter.

Casey glanced at Chu Muxi and motioned for him to follow.

Chu Muxi raised his eyes to look at Vincent, but Vincent just smiled and said nothing.

Chu Muxi followed Casey inside and saw several people already sitting there.

Each person was accompanied by service staff, including young girls and boys.

They snuggled up to those around them, poured wine obediently, or laughed and chatted with them.

When someone else entered, one person looked up and met Chu Muxi’s eyes.

Chu Muxi noticed that the man was sitting in the corner with a woman next to him.

He couldn’t help but take another look at the woman, mainly because she seemed unusually tall.

However, the lights in the box were dim, so he couldn’t clearly see her face.

He looked away, only to realize that Christie was also staring at the woman.

“Come and sit here,” Vincent said, leading them to another empty seat. He sat down just opposite the man whose eyes Chu Muxi had met earlier.

It wasn’t until he sat down that Chu Muxi got a clearer look at the two people.

The man was tall and handsome, but there was a long scar at the corner of his right eye. He had a cold expression and did not seem easy to get along with.

The woman sitting next to him had waist-length red curly hair and wore a burgundy floor-length skirt.

Chu Muxi couldn’t help but feel that her frame was too large and that she looked unusually strong, though he wasn’t sure if it was due to the lighting or just his imagination.

As he studied the woman’s face, she, who had been looking elsewhere, suddenly turned her head.

Their eyes met, and Chu Muxi turned away abruptly, almost choking.

The horrible makeup on the woman’s face made him unable to understand why someone like her would appear on such an occasion.

Did they really love each other?

No matter how much he thought about it, it seemed weird to him.

He also noticed that Christie was paying attention to these two people.

From the moment they walked in to the time they sat down, Christie looked at the pair four or five times.

Most of his glances were directed at the strong red-haired woman.

There wasn’t much space left in the room, and it seemed that everyone had arrived.

Vincent clapped his hands, stood in the middle, and spoke with a smile.

“Good evening, everyone. Welcome. We all know why we’re here, so I won’t say much. Before the auction begins, I’d like to invite everyone to enjoy a good show.”

He motioned for everyone to look behind him. Following his words, Chu Muxi finally noticed the huge curtain behind them.

The curtain slowly lowered, revealing the enormous circular venue he had seen earlier.

There had been four cages there before. The cage with the mermaid, which had always been visible, was already open.

The other three cages were still covered, but guards had entered the venue and were preparing to reveal them.
