Chapter 36: Chapter 36: We Are the Three Heroes of the East

Before they knew it, the Going Merry had sailed into the vicinity of Cocoyasi Village—and was promptly stopped by the Arlong Pirates' subordinates.

One of the leading fishmen captains stepped forward, grinning slyly. "Nami, welcome back. You must have gained a lot this time, huh? Hehehe…"

The fishmen looked like trouble just waiting to happen, so Luffy and the others stayed silent, following the unspoken agreement.

Nami stepped up confidently. "It's fine. Where's Arlong? These are the Straw Hat Pirates with me—they found a treasure and want to work with Arlong. Take us to him."

The captain frowned. "Treasure? You'd share it with others so easily? Do you have another motive?"

Lynn stepped forward, carefully pulling the injured Zoro with him. "This is Roronoa Zoro, pirate hunter and now our crew member. He's badly hurt because our group couldn't handle it. I heard your Arlong Pirates are strong enough to fight anyone, so we want to cooperate."

He gave a cold glance to the fishmen. "Since you can't decide for yourselves, go inform your captain Arlong—something big is coming."

The fishmen exchanged looks, then reluctantly decided to lead the crew to see Arlong.

After all, the naval battles between murlocs were legendary—this cautious approach made sense.

When the boat docked, Nami said, "I'll go home first, then see Arlong later."

Lynn waved a hand. "Luffy, you go with Nami."

Luffy tried to keep quiet—any noise would blow their cover. The first step had to be perfect, then the rest would fall into place.

As for leaving Arlong to Luffy? Lynn thought: let him dream on…

The fishman leader said, "Wait here, I'll report inside."

Lynn just glared and made them all faint with his intimidating presence.

Usopp gasped, "Lynn, your power is just too convenient!"

Lynn smiled. "Not bad. Sanji, ready to make your grand entrance? Just kick the door down!"

Zoro smirked, "Cook, that door's thick. Don't break your leg."

Sanji scowled. "What did you say?!"

Lynn shrugged. "If you don't do it, I will."

Sanji quickly stopped him. "No special abilities this time—let us have some fun."

Lynn sighed. "Fine, your call…"

Boom!

Arlong and his cadres, lounging in Arlong's castle, were startled by the loud crash.

Arlong squinted toward the door. "What's going on, Hachi—"

Smoke cleared, revealing Lynn and the others standing at the entrance.

Arlong stood up, face stern, while his cadres assumed battle positions.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Arlong demanded coldly.

Lynn, Sanji, and Usopp's eyes lit up—they exchanged mischievous glances.

They struck a pose.

"We are the Three Heroes of the East!" they declared in unison—three times.

Arlong turned his head, glancing at his comrades. Everyone was baffled.

"I haven't heard of you. What's your business?"

Lynn wanted to brag and fight at the same time, but dared not tell Luffy and the others his plan—he'd be killed for sure.

"Sanji, you talk," Lynn said at the perfect moment.

Sanji's eyes gleamed. Finally, his moment!

He struck a pose, pointed dramatically skyward, and declared, "For world peace, for harmony between the sexes, and so no one will be oppressed, we have come to destroy you in the name of freedom!"

He pointed at Arlong and his gang with a cigarette clenched between his fingers.

Lynn and Usopp echoed loudly, "In the name of freedom, we will destroy you!"

A bead of sweat dripped from the tip of Usopp's nose.

Zoro's face flushed red with embarrassment. Why had he joined this crew again?

Arlong stared down the intruders and growled, "Here to mock me? Fine. You've succeeded in angering me."

Just as Arlong prepared to fight, his right-hand men quickly intervened.

"Calm down! If you fight here, Arlong Park will be destroyed."

Hachi nodded, "Yeah, Arlong, leave these fools to us. Just give us a little time."

Arlong relaxed back into his chair. "Fine, it's your call."

Black Belt and Hachi stepped forward.

"Your ambitions are great," Hachi sneered, "but this is Arlong Park. We won't let you destroy it."

Great ambitions? Lynn nodded, "Of course we have big ambitions. Unlike you stinky fishmen, who bully weak civilians on land instead of hiding in water. Aren't you afraid of drying up into fish jerky?"

Suddenly, dense drops of water shot at Lynn like bullets.

He dodged swiftly, but two hits landed—too many to avoid completely.

Sanji, Usopp, and Zoro were caught in the barrage too, losing combat effectiveness instantly.

These water droplets were Arlong's doing—he was furious at Lynn's insults.

Arlong stepped forward, eyes blazing red. "Lowly humans! What have you done to my people? You can't even withstand a few drops of my water, and still dare to insult us?"

Lynn glanced at his crew, letting them experience the master's power—his way of showing the gap between them.

Stepping forward, he sneered, "Low-level humans? You're just pathetic fish. You belong hiding in the shadows, bullying weak villagers to satisfy your vanity."

Arlong stared at Lynn as if he were already dead, then said slowly, "I hope your mouth stays that strong later."

Before Lynn could retort, a familiar voice rang out, "Gum-Gum Bazooka!"

Luffy had arrived.

But Arlong dodged Luffy's attack easily, then sent Luffy and a minion flying backward through the opposite wall.

Everyone's minds froze.

What is going on?
