Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Wipe, Don’t Hit My Face

Lynn glanced over at Nami, who was quietly drawing circles in the corner of the deck. He knew better than to try to rile her up again—things would get serious fast.

"Ahem," Lynn cleared his throat. "Everyone, enough messing around. We really need to make a plan once we reach Cocoyasi Village."

Luffy said with confidence, "Why don't we just go straight to Arlong? Beat him, and everything's solved!"

Lynn rolled his eyes. "What about the fishmen in other places? What if they get desperate and hurt the villagers?"

Nami instantly perked up and hurried over. "Do you have a plan?"

Lynn smiled wryly. "If I had a perfect plan, would we still be debating it?"

Luffy pouted. "So you're saying there's nothing you can do?"

Sanji, biting his cigarette, muttered, "This is a real problem. If those fishmen threaten the villagers, Miss Nami will be devastated…"

Before he finished, Lynn snatched the cigarette from Sanji's pocket and lit one himself.

"Ahem!" Lynn immediately started coughing. "What kind of cigarette is this?"

Sanji growled, "You bastard, you can't smoke and you took the whole pack?"

Lynn shrugged. "I'm just trying to get used to the air in this world."

Bam, Bam… Nami planted her hands on her hips. "You guys are impossible!"

After a pause, Lynn proposed, "Here's the plan: Nami and Luffy go to the village and stir up trouble, drawing the scattered fishmen toward Arlong's base. Meanwhile, the rest of us will directly provoke Arlong. Once those fishmen return, we wipe them out all at once."

Sanji sat up straighter. "Good idea. With Luffy's knack for causing chaos, he's perfect for this."

Luffy scowled, "Why do I have to go with Nami?"

Lynn rolled his eyes again. "Do you even know where those fishmen are?"

Luffy shook his head firmly. "Nope."

Lynn spread his hands. "Exactly. And…"

He ran over to Zoro and shook his shoulders. "Say something! Who are you trying to impress by staying so aloof?"

"Ah, that hurts!" Zoro snapped. "Lynn, let go or I'll chop you in half!"

Lynn poked Zoro's bandaged wound lightly. "Really?"

"Ah!!" Zoro broke out in a cold sweat. "You bastard…"

Hahaha…

With the plan set, everyone breathed a little easier.

Sanji suddenly ran up to Lynn. "Hey, can you design a look for me? Just like the style you had that day."

Luffy, overhearing, shouted over, "I want one too!"

Lynn sighed. "Those are innate traits. Haven't you heard the saying?"

Zoro frowned. "What saying?"

Lynn tilted his head toward the sky at a dramatic 45-degree angle—that look again. Everyone sighed, but had to admit it was oddly compelling.

"A monkey in a human costume," Lynn declared.

Nami blinked. "What does that mean?"

Lynn said slowly, "No matter what clothes a monkey wears, it's still a monkey. Damn, what are you doing?!"

"Don't hit my face!!"

Sanji growled, "Why are you so irritating?"

Luffy cried, "Lynn, you actually called me a monkey!"

Zoro chuckled, "Hahaha, cough cough… beat him up!"

On deck, Luffy yawned loudly. "Ah, Nami, how much longer? This is so boring."

Nami glanced toward the horizon. "We'll be there by tomorrow."

"Nani!" Luffy flopped weakly onto the deck.

Nami asked, "Why don't you go play with Lynn and the others?"

Usopp, busy making weapons, pointed toward a corner. "Lynn and Zoro are sleeping over there."

Just then, Sanji emerged from the kitchen. "Dinner's ready."

Luffy suddenly sprang up. "Time to eat! Time to eat!"

Lynn, still dazed, grabbed Zoro.

"What are you doing?" Zoro asked confusedly.

Lynn said flatly, "If you don't eat now, there won't be any food later."

Zoro grunted, "Hurry up."

Lynn suddenly stopped, "Wait, something's coming!"

Everyone froze.

Before they could react, a huge fountain erupted at sea level, and a monstrous sea beast the size of a ship surfaced, staring straight at the kitchen.

Nami gasped. "Isn't that Momoo? The manatee Arlong and his crew raised?"

Usopp shuddered. "What is that thing? Too big!"

Zoro frowned. "What does it want?"

Luffy grinned. "No matter what, if it attacks, we'll beat it off."

Lynn stepped forward. "Should I glare at it and make it faint?"

Sanji, clueless about "glare," said, "It must be hungry."

Luffy said, "So that's why it came. I'm gonna fight it."

Sanji kicked Luffy aside. "It's just hungry."

Sanji returned to the kitchen and pulled out a piece of meat.

Lynn muttered, "Be careful not to get swallowed whole with the meat."

Sanji kicked the beast's chin. "It's exactly like that!"

Everyone's faces darkened.

Suddenly, Luffy's eyes lit up. "Hey! Why don't we let that sea beast pull the ship?"

"Nani?!" everyone shouted.

Sanji scoffed. "How's that even possible?!"

Lynn was speechless. "You actually mean that? I'm against it."

Luffy asked, "Why?"

Lynn rolled his eyes. "There are too many accidents when sea beasts pull boats. If you don't mind the boat breaking, go ahead."

Usopp quickly agreed, "Yeah, Luffy, drop that idea."

Lynn stepped forward. "I'll release my Conqueror's Haki. Want to experience it?"

Except for Luffy and Zoro, no one else dared face that pressure again.

Sanji, unaware of what was coming, suddenly got hit by a terrifying, overwhelming aura and nearly blacked out.

He grabbed Lynn's collar. "You bastard! What kind of monster are you? Is this human strength?!"

Lynn slapped Sanji's hand away. "You're not human. This is Conqueror's Haki."

Sanji blinked. "What's that?"

Lynn waved a hand. "Let's eat and talk."
