Neurolink System in the Modern World

Chapter 368: Escaping to the Surface

"Let's escape this place first," she stepped back from me, her cheeks tinged with a deep shade of red, and I couldn't help but be confused.

My actions were all normal for a son who missed her mother dearly. Why was she acting so weird ?

"Mom, you're all red. Are you sick? " I asked with a concerned voice.

"Hey, stop touching my mother," my copycat dashed forward, grabbing her shoulder, as if challenging my presence.

The two of us met eye to eye again; it seemed this potential brother of mine was really pushing my limits.

"You two, please, not now," she sighed and stepped away from my copycat, fearing that we would fight again if she showed favoritism.

However, I still knew that my mom loved me more. Her heart did not beat as fast when my copycat touched her shoulder.

"Let's go, less talk, more actions," Zeker spoke up, finally realizing that we had wasted so much time.

My copycat wore his mask back again, and seeing this, I also shapeshifted to hide my true face.

This time, I wanted to try something new; my hair turned blond, my eyes blue, and the shape of my face became more western like

"What a creepy ability," my copycat mocked me again.

"Stop spouting nonsense or I will kill you," I replied in English.

"You're not the only one that can speak english, idiot," He spat back with his own comeback.

"Mom, I'll carry you," my copycat spoke.

"No, I will carry her. I can protect her better," I protested.

"I'm way stronger than you !" he replied .

"I am not even using 10% of my power. If I'm at full power, I could cut you all in half," I warned them.

"Stop!" My mother suddenly scolded my copycat.

"Don't fight. Stop bothering him," she added, and then she looked at me, as if trying to check if I'm okay.

Everyone thought that I was just bluffing about being able to cut everyone in half, but it seemed that she knew I was actually telling the truth.

Of course she knew .

She must be thinking that I already have the power of the girls she set up just for me. It was her show of favoritism.

I noticed that my copycat only had one type of power, meaning that she gave me more resources than him. He could be my twin brother, but I'm the better one

"I forgive you," I looked at my copycat and gave him a sly smile.

"You…" He wanted to retort, but my mother gave him warning again.

'Little bitch,'I cursed him inwardly with a chuckle. 'Now, who's the real son? '

With the animosity between me and my copycat temporary settled, we finally made the decision to escape this place.

The blaring alarm echoed through the corridors as we rushed towards the metal lobby, encountering multiple agents trying to stop us.

However, with the four of us here, dispatching them was far too easy. Their bodies dropped like leaves in a storm, lifeless before I even unleashed any of my abilities.

It was a one-sided massacre, and in this limited and confined space, the Telekinesis power of the Zol Clan worked wonders.

To capitalize on the chaos and death around us, I utilized my power to kill-steal, ensuring that I gained as much experience as possible. It wasn't an everyday occurrence to have the opportunity to eliminate this many people.

The EXP notification rang in my ears, and I could see my XP bar increasing. At this rate, I would be able to level up again before leaving this place.

'If I knew this would happen, I would have attacked this place alone and just killed everyone,' I sighed to myself. The thought crossed my mind that if I were operating at full power, I could have easily destroyed this entire place with my Aegis projection.

'Oh, I still need to rescue Aiku's group and Yen,' I remembered that I still had my girls here.

I knew where they were located, but I hesitated to leave my mother alone if they decided to go straight towards the surface. I doubted that they would be willing to wait for me if I said that I had to rescue my girlfriends.

"Let's get Grandpa first," my copycat spoke up.

'A chance,' I thought to myself. It would take them a few minutes to rescue him, giving me some spare time.

"I know where..." I began, intending to share the information on how to get to him, but I was cut off.

"I saw him earlier, but I did not rescue him because he told me not to enter the dome. There must be something especial about it, " my copycat explained.

"What do you mean?" I asked, quite sure that I was the one that old man talked to back then.

"I was there when Code One talked to him. I used a special artifact to stay undetected," he replied.

'Motherfucker, so he was not talking to me!'I cursed inwardly. I felt like the world was playing a prank on me.

All these misunderstandings made me question if I woke up in an alternate reality where the world just turned against me.

"Let's get father first," my mother spoke.

"I'll catch up to you later; I need to do something first," I interjected. I needed to rescue my girlfriends, and right now, I needed some time alone to process my thoughts.

I realized that I didn't have to worry about them leaving without me, considering that they would escape this place by going to the surface. And Zhang must also be there.

"Don't tell me that you plan to betray us ?" Zeker spoke.

"It's up to you what to believe. Let's meet in the surface," I replied and turned around.

I promised my girls that I would protect them, and it would leave a bad taste in my mouth if this whole place collapsed with them still inside.

"Jin-hoo," my mother called out.

I turned around and saw her holding my right arm.

"Stay safe," she added.

"I will, Mom," I replied with a smile, feeling her warmth and love in that simple exchange.
