Chapter 369: White Walls
'I know it, Mom has some kind of ability that made me more emotional,' I thought to myself after I managed to distance myself from her.
It must not be a dangerous skill, because my Will of Z did not activate.
Nevertheless, I made a mental note to be cautious about this undetectable ability.
Now that my mind was able to think more calmly, I was able to piece together my own conclusions regarding the matter of my copycat.
We might be twins, which was likely considering we have the same age and face.
However, I recalled them saying that I did not have the blood of Zol with me, meaning they have a way to detect their own kind, and they felt nothing from me.
Likewise, I did not feel anything special when I saw them too; they were like normal gifteds in my eyes.
There could be a few answers to my question.
First, the real me, or the body of mine that had the Zol bloodline, died when I got poisoned. When the system revived me, it changed my body fundamentally, making me basically a different person, or another existence all together.
Second, it could be that I'm her son from a different father, and the only reason we looked alike was because we came from the same mother. That's possible, considering even my grandfather looked like me when he was young.
Third, my mother did something, and it was about me and the girls she prepared for me. She might have done some kind of experiment to make me stronger.
Regardless, I still need to be careful.
No matter what the reason was, I couldn't let my guard down. Whether we were blood-related or not, the Zol clan consisted of evil and twisted people with no moral compass, so I needed to be cautious.
I should treat them as more dangerous than the people in Cerebrum.
At least Cerebrum's core principles still revolved around maintaining the human race, while these Zol members seemed to be driven by chaos and destruction, threatening everything in their path.
"Hey, did you see the intruders?" A man in combat suit asked with sense of urgency. He was surrounded by a dozen more heavily equipped individuals.
They looked ready for a fight, clad in armor and armed to the teeth.
If the higher up knew they were facing the Zol Clan, they wouldn't have sent these individuals on a suicide mission.
"They went that way," I pointed to the prison ward.
Right now, I had turned into a woman and used my mirage to change my clothing.
While I could have killed the people going after my mother, utilizing this agents to stall for time seemed like a better option.
Of course, I didn't forget to mind-link with them. This way, they would turn into EXP when they all died. A win-win situation, as their chance of living was nonexistent anyway.
After settling that situation, I encountered more groups, and I used the same modus operandi.
From time to time, I could hear the sounds of EXP notifications, making me smile from satisfaction.
"Where are you going?" One of the guards stopped me.
"I need to go up, under the order of the Director," I replied while using my suggestion.
"Alright ," They answered .
I took the elevator upwards. And without wasting any time, I proceeded to the area where Aiku and the others were located. They were now trapped in a place where my Mind Link could not reach, so I needed to personally saved them.
As for Yen, I had already mind-linked with her and instructed her to meet me later.
Ding
The elevator opened, and I was greeted by another lobby.
In the pristine white halls, I now turned into another person. I was wearing the same lab coat as everybody, blending in with them.
The people inside were also panicking; the bombardment outside was still ongoing.
It seemed that even Zhang was having a hard time dealing with the attacker. It must be another person from the Zol Clan who was now battling him.
'How many Zol members attacked this place?' I thought to myself, realizing that this a declaration of war already. I'm pretty sure that the whole Jeju Island could see this place being attacked.
'If this continues, then the whole world will know about the gifteds sooner or later,' I sighed to myself.
I had been holding back my power just to make sure the status quo between humans and gifteds stayed the same, but now this bunch of psychos just ruined everything.
'The moment they started spouting nonsense like destroying the world, I needed enough power to stop them," I thought to myself while walking. I might not be a super good guy, but I'm pretty sure destroying humanity wasn't on my to-do list.
I was still planning to buy a bunch of vacation houses all around the world and enjoy life with my harem.
I haven't even tasted the most expensive food this world has to offer.
How about going to Hollywood and meeting those superstars? Or maybe heading to Dubai to try those experience that only the very rich could get.
Like Buying an incredibly luxurious car that only the 1% could afford.
Hell, I even had plans to acquire the biggest gaming company in the world so I could create my own games. I still had a lot of things to do.
"Stop!" an old man with white hair jolted me from my thoughts.
"Me?" I pointed to my face. I still looked like a woman right now, as it was much more convenient and less suspicious.
"Yeah, you. Follow me, I need your help with something," he said, grabbing my hands and pulling me.
"Doc, I need to do something important."
"This is more important. We have to protect my files, those are the most important research in this place!" he shouted.
'Most important?' those two words caught my interest .
"Alright," I nodded and followed him. I might also get some answers from him about where Aiku was located.
