Chapter 117: NT: 115: Contagious Toxin
Outside Konohagakure.
Over a thousand Konoha-nins gathered, led by two figures: Namikaze Minato and Tengen.
Clearly, Minato and Tengen commanded this force.
Though numerous, the group stayed eerily quiet, a testament to ninja discipline.
"Target: Kikyo Mountain. Prepare to move." Minato announced.
"Yes!" The thousand-plus ninjas responded, rising.
"Tengen, let's go." Minato said.
"Alright." Tengen scanned a corner of Konoha, then flashed forward, following Minato, the mass of ninjas trailing close behind.
They wouldn't stop until Kikyo Mountain.
Such a move alerted Konoha's villagers to the news.
Sunagakure was attacking.
Hearts prayed for Konoha's victory.
"Tengen." from a corner, Mitarashi Anko and Utsuki Urumi watched him leave, eyes reluctant and worried.
In a Ninja World War, death was routine.
"You must survive and come back."
Led by Minato and Tengen, the Konoha force marched to Kikyo Mountain, where the standoff raged.
The journey was unhindered.
Naturally, bandits dared not touch a small squad, let alone a vast ninja army.
They'd be lucky not to wet themselves, fearing Konoha's wrath.
They overthought it; Konoha's ninjas had no time for ordinary folk.
Tengen and Minato pressed on swiftly.
In under a day, they reached Kikyo Mountain, site of Konoha's camp and command hub.
Entering, Tengen and Minato felt war's weight.
Anger, grief, and despair hung heavy.
Wounded littered the area, missing limbs, grave injuries.
For ninjas, losing an arm was among the cruelest fates.
After meeting Jiraiya and arranging the reinforcements, Tengen and Minato entered the central tent, where Jonin held council.
Here, Orochimaru and Jiraiya led as commanders, others assisting.
"Tengen, Minato, come in." Jiraiya ushered them inside, where Orochimaru, Akimichi Choza, and other Jonin waited.
"You're here." Orochimaru nodded.
"Jiraiya-sensei, what's the situation?" Minato asked.
"Not great. We're fighting in squads, but Konoha's numbers are thin. Reinforcements help, but we're still outnumbered." Jiraiya said.
Tengen and Minato understood. Konoha had to guard against other villages. Emptying the village risked a late response to another attack.
"And Chiyo's tricky, not just her puppet skills, but her poison, a mass weapon." Orochimaru said gravely. "Pity Tsunade's not here."
In the Second Ninja World War, Tsunade clashed with Chiyo and won.
"Tengen, Tsunade mentioned you've studied medical ninjutsu." Jiraiya said.
Eyes turned to Tengen.
His genius reputation in Konoha was huge. If he knew medical ninjutsu, they'd be glad, not shocked.
It could ease their disadvantage against the Sand.
"Medical ninjutsu? I know a bit. I'll try." Tengen nodded.
"Good. Now, let's review Konoha and Sunagakure's status." Orochimaru said slowly.
The battle shifted daily, demanding constant strategy.
A slip could end your life, or others' in Konoha.
"Minato, Tengen, you've rushed from Konoha. Rest first." Jiraiya said.
"War's not a day or two." he added.
"Understood." Minato and Tengen nodded, leaving.
They knew Sunagakure's resolve meant no easy retreat.
This was a force built over decades since the Second Ninja World War.
The next day at Kikyo Mountain, Tengen was roused by urgent calls.
Hurrying into clothes, he reached the council tent.
"Tengen, a strike team of about a hundred was ambushed. They're hit by a strange toxin, in chaos, and need rescue." Jiraiya said urgently.
"Where?" Tengen asked.
"Follow me." Jiraiya led Tengen off.
Soon, Tengen reached another camp, ninjas writhing in misery, groaning.
"What's the state?" Tengen asked a medical ninja.
"Sir, these patients have rotting skin, chaotic chakra, and clouded minds. Worse, it's contagious." the ninja reported.
"Contagious? To infect more of Konoha?" Tengen's eyes flickered.
He donned a mask to block the toxin.
"Bring me in. We'll research this virus fast. We need an antidote, or Sunagakure will strike."
"Yes, sir."
"Pervy Sage, leave it to me." Tengen told Jiraiya.
"It's yours." Jiraiya nodded.
Meanwhile, ten kilometers from the camp,
Sunagakure's outpost stood.

Hi guys, I want to let you know that I'm currently working on a new project. If you're curious to check it out, don't hesitate to give it a read!
[Tensura: The Multiverse Planeswalker]
Reincarnating into a fantasy world is truly extraordinary, especially one set in a universe of Heroes and Demon Lords; a perfect recipe for an exhilarating and incredible adventure.
That's what Damien is experiencing right now, reincarnating into the Tensuraverse.
But the first thing that crossed his mind after reincarnating wasn't whether he was part of the grand battle between Hero and Demon Lord, but whether he had reincarnated as one of the weakest creatures in the entire world… a Slime?
Fortunately, he didn't suffer such an unfortunate fate. But as the saying goes, if you're too lucky for no reason, misfortune will be the price you pay. Although he didn't reincarnate as a slime, he reincarnated as a Hybrid Majin-Human instead.
To make matters worse, he was reincarnated in a region that follows the anti-monster doctrine of a certain Demon Lord's church, a perfect setup for discrimination and ostracism against him.
But luckily, it seems the Voice of the World took pity on him for enduring such a fate and granted him [Planeswalker].
A Unique Skill that allows him to freely explore other worlds.
Incredible, right?
But that's not all. In addition to this skill, he was given a skill that makes him stronger with every powerful familiar he possesses.
No doubt about it, with these two skills, his future is bright…
Servants, Pokémon, Majin, Beasts, and all the powerful fictional characters he once admired… it seems that building his own kingdom composed entirely of his familiars is the surefire path to becoming the strongest!
[Tensura] [Pokémon] [Nasuverse] [Konosuba] [Highschool DxD] [Kumo desu ga Nani ka?] [Soul Land] [Dungeon Fighter Online] [No Game No Life] [Mondaiji-tachi]... and others.
