When you focus on something you love, time flies.

Su Yu played the songs over and over again. Yukinoshita Yukino transcribed the sheet music and soon could play them herself.

However—they still needed a professional singer to perform the two songs.

And Yukino was very satisfied with them.

But—she hadn't forgotten about the third story.

Su Yu looked out the window, hinting at something.

Yukino ignored him and closed the door.

Yui giggled.

Su Yu sighed, reached out, and took her hand.

The two walked toward the elevator together.

As they descended, Yui looked at Su Yu.

"I told Yukino-chan that if she likes you, I'll compete with her."

"And if you lose, you'll still be best friends forever?"

"Huh? How did you know?"

—

Su Yu smiled.

"I understand Yukino, and I understand you too. I can pretty much guess what you'd say. And my answer to that… is probably the same as the one in your heart."

"How can a loser smile and give their blessing? You're such a dummy."

Su Yu hugged her gently.

"Su Yu-kun… if you ever fall for Yukino-chan, will you tell me?"

Yui flinched and lowered her head further.

"You little dummy… stop asking me pointless questions."

"If I answer you, you'll feel uneasy."

"If I don't answer you, you'll still feel uneasy."

"And if my answer isn't what you want to hear, you'll be sad anyway."

"So my answer is—this question is boring. Not that I want to hide anything from you."

Su Yu patted her head gently, sighing.

"I'm sorry… I asked another weird question."

Yui smiled awkwardly.

"If you ask me that again next time, I'll have to think about how to punish you."

As he spoke—his hand mischievously reached out.

Yui's face turned bright red.

Su Yu ignored her reaction and simply hugged her tighter.

Yui's Mother Calls

As they got off the train, Yui's phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID—her face turned red.

"Is it Aunt Minami?"

Su Yu didn't even need to look—he already knew who it was.

Yui nodded and hesitated before answering.

"Yui, are you staying over at Su Yu-kun's place again tonight?"

Minami's voice carried a teasing tone.

"M-Mom! I-I'm coming home soon!"

Yui stammered.

—

"Is Su Yu-kun next to you?"

"…Yeah."

—

"No need to rush back. Do you need me to tell you where the nearest hotel is?"

—

"MOM! NO!"

—

"Haha, alright then. Be careful on the way home."

With a chuckle, she hung up.

Yui put her phone away, looking at Su Yu.

—

"Don't worry. I can find a hotel."

Su Yu teased.

"I-I'm NOT GOING!"

Yui panicked and quickly walked ahead.

Su Yu casually followed her pace.

Soon—Yui slowed down, glanced back, and reached out her hand.

Su Yu smiled and held her hand again.

She wrapped her arms around his as they continued walking.

When they reached her neighborhood, Su Yu stopped.

—

"Alright, I'll leave you here."

"…Good night."

Yui's voice was soft.

Su Yu watched her until she reached the door.

—

Only after she stepped inside did he turn and walk away.

—

Yui glanced back—but he was already gone.

—

Inside the house—Minami stood waiting.

"Mom? What is it?"

Yui looked at her curiously.

—

"A delivery came for you this afternoon."

"A very big gift box."

—

Minami smiled knowingly.

"The sender is Su Yu-kun."

—

"Huh?"

Yui was stunned.

—

She quickly took off her shoes and rushed into the living room.

—

There, she saw it.

A huge gift box.

Big enough to fit a person inside.

—

Slowly—Yui untied the ribbon and opened the lid.

—

Inside—

A giant teddy bear sat waiting.

With a small card resting on top.

—

Yui picked up the card—

And her heart melted.

—

"This bear represents me. There's another one just like it in my bedroom. This is a souvenir from our date."

—

Tears welled up in Yui's eyes.

"Su Yu-kun… is so romantic."

—

Minami chuckled behind her.

"Yui, I'm a little jealous. If your father had been this romantic, I would've been much happier."

—

"M-Mom! I-I'm going to my room!"

Blushing, Yui hugged the bear tightly and hurried off.

—

Minami watched her daughter's beaming smile.

She was genuinely happy for her.

—

But then—she sighed.

Because she could see it.

Yukino was more than just a friend to Su Yu.

—

Late-Night Phone Call

On his way home—Su Yu's phone rang.

It was Yui.

—

"Su Yu-kun… thank you for the gift."

"Do you like it?"

"I love it. This is the first time a boy has given me a present."

"It's also the first time I've given one officially."

"Really? You seemed so experienced… and you're so handsome. I bet lots of girls like you."

"Alright, fine. I'll be honest—I had over ten girlfriends at my last school."

"They kept clinging to me, so I had to transfer to Soubu High."

"You little dummy. When my ex-girlfriends come looking for me, you'll be crying."

"Hmph! Then I'll team up with Yukino-chan to chase them away!"
