Chapter 59: Chapter 59: The Serum, the Spider-Woman, and the Lizard

OSCORP

George and the other officers withdrew from the alley. After confirming the area was safe, they immediately called for backup over the radio.

Without wasting a second, they sprinted toward Oscorp's gates.

The security guard at the gate saw them rushing in his direction.

He quickly grabbed his walkie-talkie and called the other guards.

As soon as George reached the entrance, he flashed his badge and said firmly:

"Something extremely dangerous just entered Oscorp."

"We need to get inside and contain it now, or everyone here will be in danger."

Without waiting, George tried to move past the gate.

But the guard stepped in front of him.

"I can't let you in without a warrant or direct order from my superior."

"Please leave."

George exchanged looks with the other officers.

More security guards were gathering behind the first.

If George forced his way through now,

things could escalate—badly—for him and the department.

"Captain, what should we do?"

"Call Norman Osborn. Tell him the situation and ask for permission to enter."

"Understood!"

The officers tried calling Norman Osborn.

But no one picked up.

George sighed, already putting the pieces together.

"He gave us the business line, not his personal number..."

It made sense. A man like Norman wouldn't hand out his private contact so easily.

"Let's pull back and wait for our backup."

The security guards watched George and the officers retreat, then returned to their posts.

There had been just one guard at the entrance before. Now, to prevent a possible intrusion, three were stationed there.

As they walked back, George was already thinking:

Why did the Lizard show up at Oscorp, of all places?

"Send someone to bring Dr. Connors here too."

"Got it."

In the security office, the man who had stopped George—the head of security—was still watching the officers outside.

After a moment's thought, he decided to report the incident to his superior.

If something really happened, he didn't want to be the one held responsible.

"General manager, there are two officers at the gate..."

After a quick rundown of the situation, the general manager's voice barked through the line:

"Don't let them into Oscorp under any circumstances!! I'm heading there now!"

The captain could also hear a woman's annoyed voice in the background.

As he hung up, a flicker of jealousy passed through his eyes.

The lives of the rich...

Still, orders were orders.

"Everyone, stay alert. Tighten surveillance. No one gets into Oscorp under any circumstances."

"Understood!!!"

A luxurious mansion – unknown location

Norman Osborn lay on a massage table, enjoying the attention of a stunning masseuse.

Just then, his butler approached with a phone in hand.

"Sir, someone is calling you."

"A phone call?" Norman asked lazily.

"Yes."

"Ignore it."

"Has Harry come back yet?"

"Not yet. He said he's at a classmate's birthday party."

Norman smirked in mild contempt.

"Fine. You can go."

As he settled in to relax again, the butler returned—still holding the phone.

"I told you to ignore the call..."

"Sir... it's your personal line. The general manager from Oscorp is calling."

Norman's eyes narrowed.

If that man was calling his private line, something serious must've happened.

"Leave."

Once everyone was out, Norman took the phone and answered:

"What's going on?"

"Sir, two officers are trying to—"

The manager quickly explained the situation.

Norman frowned.

"No matter what happens, don't let them into Oscorp."

"Remember, our partnership with the military cannot be exposed!"

After ending the call, Norman fell silent for a few seconds.

An unusual look of concern crossed his face.

"Did the police find something?"

"Impossible… I kept everything under wraps. And the military promised to support me..."

But Norman was a seasoned man. He took a deep breath, refocused, got dressed, and headed straight to Oscorp—without saying a single word.

Oscorp – 3rd floor

Spider-Woman landed in front of a heavy steel door—the freezer where various experimental specimens and medicines were stored.

With a voice command to Ruby, the door opened.

A wave of freezing air rushed out. Feeling the cold, Gwen shivered instinctively.

[Gwen, Peter Parker is heading this way at high speed. You need to hurry.]

[Your father also found out Peter sneaked into Oscorp and has requested reinforcements.]

Spider-Woman stepped inside the freezer, scanning for the serum Ruby mentioned.

She quickly found a small briefcase. Opening it, she saw two vials inside.

"Got it."

She grabbed the case and ran toward the door. But as she approached, Ruby warned:

[Gwen, Peter is already at the door.]

The next moment, the Lizard appeared—blocking the way.

"Oh, no..."

"Spider-Woman?"

The Lizard was surprised to see her. But when he noticed the briefcase in her hands, he immediately understood.

"Spider-Woman, are you trying to stop the evolution of mankind?"

"Give me that serum now! Only I can lead humanity to a better future!"

"Sure, no problem."

"But first… just out of curiosity, what have you been eating to grow so much since yesterday?"

"And by the way, you should really brush your teeth more often. Ew."

Ignoring her, the Lizard lunged at Spider-Woman...
