Corpses. Experiments. Hydra. Unifying the world. The Mind Scepter...

As Wanda's powers invaded Dr. List's mind and uncovered the truth, her expression grew terribly grim.

"Ahhh!"

Wanda suddenly let out a scream. A burst of red energy erupted from her body, blasting away everyone around her—except Pietro.

The soldiers who had been pointing guns at them were the first to go flying, tumbling across the floor.

If they had chosen not to cooperate, thinking these few soldiers could restrain them would've been a joke.

Pietro quickly embraced Wanda, his eyes filled with concern and questions.

Wanda didn't speak. She only nodded with visible fury.

Pietro's eyes darkened.

He understood what that meant.

"Quick! Capture them!"

Dr. List hadn't even gotten up from the floor before he shouted.

"Hah."

Pietro chuckled coldly.

Before the sound of his laughter faded, he had already vanished—taking Wanda with him.

Dr. List's face turned deathly pale.

Damn it… The powers these two just displayed were far stronger than what they'd shown during testing.

With Pietro's speed, they had no chance of catching them.

Slamming his fist into the ground, Dr. List suddenly thought of something. His face went white as a sheet.

"Quick! Protect the leader and the Scepter!"

Just as his voice fell, chaos erupted throughout the base.

BOOM!

A deafening explosion rang out.

Chunks of debris were blocked mid-air by a surge of red energy.

Then, a furious roar followed:

"Damn it! Give that back!"

As the voice echoed, the ground cracked and shattered, transforming into a storm of razor-sharp stones. The whirlwind of debris surrounded Wanda and Pietro like a maddened vortex, threatening to consume them.

Pietro was panting, gripping a scepter in his hands.

After Wanda had extracted the truth from Dr. List's mind, they had immediately rushed to the room housing the Mind Scepter—and taken it.

Just as they were about to escape, a powerful energy blast struck at them.

Had Wanda not reacted in time and created a shield with her powers, they would've already been captured.

Ebony Maw emerged from the broken wall, his eerie eyes gleaming with menace. His immense power seeped into the surroundings, silently beginning to take control.

Sensing his power, Wanda's crimson eyes grew even darker.

Ebony Maw narrowed his gaze and extended his hand toward the scepter in Pietro's grip.

Instantly, Pietro felt a powerful force yanking at the scepter. The force was so strong that for a moment, he nearly lost his grip. Luckily, Wanda swept her hand through the air, reinforcing his hold with red energy.

Biting her lip, Wanda formed a shimmering red energy shield to protect them from the barrage of flying debris.

Boom! Boom!

Suddenly, a stream of red mist spiraled toward Ebony Maw, wrapping around his entire body.

Ebony Maw sneered. With a flick of invisible force, he shredded the red mist into pieces.

"Die."

As his chilling voice fell, the ground beneath Wanda and Pietro began to quake.

Wanda instantly unleashed the full extent of her powers. A massive burst of red energy erupted from her body, scattering the debris storm around them.

Taking the opportunity, Pietro grabbed Wanda. Just as jagged spikes began to rise from the ground, they vanished again.

BOOM!

The storm of debris reformed, sharp spikes piercing the surrounding ground like a bed of nails.

Before Ebony Maw stood a scene of total devastation.

The Mind Scepter had been stolen—from his hands!

The face that rarely showed emotion was now twisted with rage. Invisible force radiated from him, wildly destroying everything nearby.

Seconds later, he finally stopped his meaningless tantrum and exhaled slowly.

Then, seeing Strucker approach from a distance, he waved him over and growled:

"Get it back—or I'll kill you."

Strucker nodded. Though clearly unhappy with Ebony Maw's attitude, he said coldly,

"That scepter is just as important to us."

Ebony Maw released him, gritting his teeth.

"Then go find it, you useless Hydra scum."

Meanwhile, Pietro had taken Wanda to a safe location.

They suddenly appeared deep in a remote forest.

Pietro was panting. He couldn't hide his exhaustion, but his face was lit with exhilaration.

The thrill of surviving danger—it was exhilarating.

Wanda stepped away and looked down at the Mind Scepter in her hands.

"What should we do with this dangerous thing?"

Pietro hesitated for a moment.

"We can't let Hydra get it back."

Wanda nodded, looking at him.

Scratching his head, Pietro asked uncertainly,

"What if we just bury it here?"

Wanda smiled.

"I was thinking the same."

Hydra would never let them go so easily. They'd definitely launch a massive manhunt.

Carrying the scepter would only slow them down—and if they were caught, at least the scepter wouldn't fall back into Hydra's hands.

"What about us? Where do we go now?"

Pietro asked with a hint of confusion.

Wanda looked at him, and suddenly, their eyes lit up at the same time. They spoke in unison:

"Charles!"

He was the only person they could think of—someone who could truly help them.

They both smiled. Wanda said,

"Let's go. We're still too close to the base."

Pietro nodded and took off again with Wanda in tow.

Soon, they buried the Mind Scepter in a hidden location known only to them—and set off for New York.

Back at Mike's house.

Today marked the first day of the new school term.

Gwen had already prepared everything she needed for school. In fact, she had enthusiastically packed an extra set—for Loki.

Backpack, stationery, and textbooks—all ready to go.

After washing up, Gwen came to the dining room and greeted Raven, who was helping serve breakfast.

"Morning, Aunt Raven."

Raven smiled at her.

"Morning."

Gwen sat at the table, yawning.

"Aunt Raven, are you heading to work too?"

Raven placed a plate of food in front of her, gently patting her head.

"That's right. School's starting again, so I'm back to teaching too."

Gwen's eyes sparkled mischievously. She hugged Raven tightly.

"I'm going to miss you!"

Then she pressed her ear against Raven's stomach, listening closely. Hearing nothing, she sighed quietly in disappointment.

Raven gently stroked her hair, assuming Gwen was feeling emotional about the new term. She was about to comfort her when Gwen suddenly let go and chirped,

"See you Sunday!"

Raven blinked, then chuckled and poked Gwen's nose, sitting down beside her.

Moments later, Mike came out of the kitchen with two more plates of breakfast. Just as he was about to call Clark, a tired-looking Clark descended the stairs.
