Chapter 147: Bestie Is Back

Welcome back Ma'am"

Thank you Richard could you please tell the chef to fix me something I'm so hungry and please ask Nadia to get me Coffee.

Absolutely ma'am. Aurora slammed into the couch and the maids helped her take off her shoes and jewelry. This is not necessary for real I can do this myself. "Sorry ma'am but these are orders from your Dad and we have to obey. You work for Mark you don't have to respond to Dad. I'm sorry maam but sir mark approved of your Dad's orders.

Okay fine thank you anyways. *phone rings*

Aurora picks it up without looking on the screen. Hello….

"Babes im a few minutes drive to your house"wtf Angel aren't you supposed to be in Italy? "I know right, but I'm back and I can't wait to see you.

Richard bowed respectfully and welcomed Angel. Ma'am please this way….

Richard stop being so formal with me, Angel smiled. "I know how much respect you regard me with and I appreciate it so much, I promise to stop bowing to you henceforth, the man in his fifties smiled sincerely at Angel.

" I will accept that, Angel blurted and smiled.

The golden hour light spills through the tall windows of the Mansion's living area. Aurora sits alone at a window seat, tapping her wedding ring nervously against her coffee cup. She's dressed flawlessly as always but her eyes are clouded, lips tense.

She smiles despite herself her best friend Angel, the one person who always knew how to cut through the mess. They hadn't seen each other for two weeks . Angel had gone on a short trip to Italy

Aurora stands just as her eyes fell on Angel.

Angel enters like a breeze messy curls, sunglasses, rocking her out fit with a yellow burkin, and a wild energy that makes people turn and stare.

"ANGEL !" she shouts, arms wide. "You look like a billion dollar!" Angel bursts into laughter, rushing into her arms.

They sit, and Aurora orders the maids to bring in snacks, and the chatter begins. But beneath their laughter are two women hiding truths.

Angel left Italy suddenly something happened there, something she's thinking twice to tell Aurora.

And Aurora 's husband? He just pissed her off, she doesn't want to tell Angel about Mark's red flags cause Angel gets over protective sometimes. As they sip coffee , they realize the reunion they needed and how much they missed each other.

Aurora stirred her coffee like it had personally offended her. Angel slid into the couch beside her, sunglasses still on, her curls a wild halo. "You look like someone just told you carbs cause cancer."

Aurora didn't laugh. "You're late."

Angel blinked, leaned back. "I just got off an 11-hour flight. Customs was war. A guy literally tried to bribe the officer with chewing gum."

"And yet… you still made time to flirt with the barista." Aurora shot her a look. "He had dimples. I have needs." They both paused.

"Maxwell must hear this" Aurora sighed. "Sorry. I'm not in the mood."

Angel finally took off her sunglasses. "Tell me what happened. Or I'll assume the worst like, you finally smacked Mark with your stiletto."

Aurora's mouth twitched. "Close." "Oh, God. What did he do now?"

"He embarrassed me at my dad's office," Aurora said, leaning in, her voice sharp. "I was talking to my cousin Gianna we just met each other like four days ago. And guess who storms in, acting like a maniac?"

"Don't tell me—"

"He walked in, picked me up like a toddler on his damn shoulder and told Gianna and I that he had to step in else we would have went on and on. Drove me home like I was grounded."
