Chapter 42: Chapter 20.2: Secrets Under the Covers
Back at the dorm, she braced herself as she opened the door.
Fu Yunshen was on his bed, casually flipping through a book.
She cleared her throat. "So… about last night—"
"I don't care," he said without looking up.
Shi Mo paused. "Really?"
He turned a page. "Your life, your rules. Just… keep your supplies to your side of the room."
She stared at him, bewildered.
"You're not going to ask?"
Fu Yunshen looked up briefly. "You already said 'no follow-up questions.' I'm just honoring that."
Shi Mo felt the tension deflate from her chest.
He really didn't care.
Or at least, he wasn't making a big deal of it.
And somehow, that meant everything.
Later that evening, Zhou Zhi waltzed into the room holding a mysterious package.
"I brought a gift!" he announced proudly.
Shi Mo eyed the box with suspicion. "What now?"
He opened it dramatically.
Inside were several magazines. Bold covers. Large fonts. Girls in revealing poses.
Shi Mo's face went blank. "Porn?"
"Educational material," Zhou Zhi corrected. "We're growing boys."
Fu Yunshen looked up from his book. "Burn it."
Shi Mo sighed. "Take it back."
Zhou Zhi pouted. "You guys are no fun."
"Thank you," Shi Mo said. "I consider that a compliment."

Shi Mo lay back in bed that night, staring at the ceiling.
In any other world, what happened might've ruined everything.
But in this one?
It brought them closer.
Through chaos. Through comedy. Through shared silence.
And maybe that's how bonds are formed—not through perfection, but through moments of sheer absurdity.
