Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Saiyan Legion
Galactic Justice League Headquarters.
After the battle between Raditz and Vegeta, the vast grassland had been transformed into a cratered wasteland, with countless fragments of rock scattered everywhere. The beautiful natural environment, created for relaxation and enjoyment, had been destroyed in less than two minutes.
But that wasn't what bothered Burter!
What distressed him wasn't the ruined grassy slopes, but his own wasted effort. He was the one responsible for creating the green space. Following Raditz's request, he had put tremendous work into developing such a beautiful area.
And just like that—demolished completely, with no one to complain to.
Vegeta's cold stare made Burter numb with fear. He didn't even dare speak up.
In the end, I'll be the one cleaning up this mess, Burter lamented silently, his arms hanging limply at his sides.
Not far away, the Saiyans gathered together, chattering excitedly about the recent battle. Their enthusiasm hadn't diminished—they remained absolutely thrilled. Some were fascinated by Vegeta's transformation, while others thought the red flames of Raditz's Kaio-ken looked impressive. Their animated conversations grew so noisy that Vegeta began frowning.
Just then, Raditz returned.
Vegeta was the first to sense his presence. He uncrossed his arms and walked directly toward him.
"Judging by your expression, something serious must have happened. Is it Frieza?"
"You guessed half right. There is indeed a crisis coming, but it's not Frieza—it's someone else entirely."
"Hmph, who besides Frieza could possibly be called a crisis?" Vegeta snorted coldly, his voice dripping with disdain. In his eyes, very few beings in the current universe could be considered genuine threats.
When his power level had been in the tens of thousands, he had already felt there were few worthy opponents in the universe. But after gaining broader knowledge and deeper experience, he gradually realized just how many powerful fighters remained hidden throughout the cosmos. Tens of thousands suddenly didn't seem so impressive anymore.
Now, however, with his power level in the millions, he truly felt like mountains appeared small from his vantage point. Many planetary champions had power levels of merely ten thousand or so. Besides Raditz, Kakarot, and Frieza, who could possibly compete with him?
No one.
Raditz shook his head. "Though this threat may not equal Frieza, it's close. The power of the Demon Realm is formidable and strange—different from ordinary opponents."
"Different from ordinary opponents?" Vegeta asked, surprised.
"Everything about them is unknown, and there seem to be many of them."
With Frieza, at least they knew what they were dealing with—his capabilities were well-documented. But the Demon Realm was like an improvisation outside the script, completely unexpected.
Raditz didn't dare make hasty judgments.
"Interesting! Raditz, count me in." Rather than concerned, Vegeta seemed excited, clenching his fists with impatience.
"Then I'll call Goku..."
"We don't need Kakarot! Am I not enough?!" Vegeta interrupted, clearly not wanting his rival involved in this battle.
"That's... fine."
Raditz agreed to Vegeta's proposal. Between the two of them, unless they faced a monster on Frieza's level, there shouldn't be much danger. Besides, with Instant Transmission available, they could always retreat if things went poorly.
I'll let you sit this one out, Kakarot, my good brother.
Raditz decided to bring the other fifteen Saiyans along, giving them a chance to experience the wider universe and engage in real combat! The Saiyans were a warrior race, after all, and needed to grow through battle.
Daily training and sparring could only improve martial arts techniques—real life-or-death struggles were necessary to forge overall strength. Raditz himself had initially suffered from a lack of actual combat experience, but fortunately, he'd learned much during his year with King Kai, allowing him to develop rapidly.
This confrontation with the demons would let his fighters see blood and gain valuable experience.
Hearing that Raditz and Vegeta would be fighting together, the Saiyan fighters grew excited. They rushed to demonstrate their power, energy blasts from their hundred-thousand-plus power levels bombarding the already devastated landscape once again.
Burter watched them wreak havoc with a smile plastered on his face, while internally...
After a night's rest, the next day Raditz gathered Tumat and the other Saiyans to prepare for departure.
On the vast launch pad, only a few spacecraft remained—many had been dispatched on other missions. A strong wind swept across the area as their imposing silhouettes reflected against the silver flooring.
Most of them had been too excited to sleep the previous night, yet they still brimmed with energy, like lions ready for the hunt, eager for battle.
Raditz lined up the fifteen Saiyans and solemnly briefed them, while Vegeta stood to the side with his arms folded, wearing his usual stoic expression.
"You'll operate in teams of three. All actions must follow command protocols. In case of emergency, use your communicators to contact headquarters. Understood?"
"Understood!" Everyone shouted in unison.
This was their first collective mission. The Saiyans couldn't contain their excitement—they'd been itching to stretch their muscles and bones, finally able to exert their full strength.
Even knowing their opponents might be extraordinarily powerful, it only fueled their fighting spirit. The Saiyan blood in their veins called to their warrior instincts. Trembling with excitement when facing a strong enemy—this was what it meant to be a Saiyan.
"Team Alpha will be led by Tarble! Team Beta, Tarnip, I'm counting on you. Team Gamma, Pepara..."
Raditz announced their names one by one, organizing them into five effective teams. Finally, he and Vegeta would operate independently as separate units.
Vegeta had no desire to work with anyone else, so when Raditz proactively separated them onto different paths, he gave a slight nod of approval. Otherwise, he would have done it himself.
"Additionally, Jeice, you're responsible for accessing the star maps of the West Galaxy. If you need clarification on anything, contact the Galactic Patrol. Inform Angila, who's currently in the field, and ask him to prepare some spacecraft at the Northern Galaxy border. As for Burter... you... please renovate that landscape again. Thank you for your hard work."
As Raditz finished speaking, he felt a twinge of embarrassment. Quickly gathering everyone, he teleported away with the entire group.
Burter stared blankly at the empty space before him, on the verge of tears.
"It's just another job. Let's get to it." Jeice patted Burter's shoulder, tossed his long white hair, and headed off to work with a smile.
The remaining staff bowed their heads obediently, not daring to speak. Burter's face fell as he sighed deeply.
...
West Galaxy, above a desolate planet.
In an instant, Raditz transported the group to their destination with a soft whoosh. The silence around them carried the scent of death.
They scanned their surroundings, only to discover countless energy weapons aimed directly at them. They had just teleported straight into an enemy ambush...
