Chapter 209: Mahiro: Here, We Go Again!

Chapter 209 - Mahiro: Here, We Go Again!

Babel

Many adventurers exited the dungeon, making the entrance bustling with activity.

Perhaps it was the relief of escaping a day filled with fighting and danger.

In the central square, adventurers filled the air with noise and chatter.

Some recounted their adventures in the dungeon, others discussed where to enjoy their hard-earned break, while a few were engaged in heated arguments over how to divide their spoils.

Suddenly, a silver light lit up a corner of the square.

In the midst of the light, a complex magic pattern shimmered into view.

Surrounding the glowing formation, several adventurers stood, talking and laughing until they noticed the phenomenon.

"What the heck is that?" one of the adventurers exclaimed.

"It looks like some kind of magic circle," another replied.

"Get back!" someone screamed in fear.

The group froze for a moment before panic set in, and they bolted, scrambling to distance themselves from the mysterious magic circle.

Moments later, a figure emerged from the light—it was Mahiro.

After reaching the seventeenth floor, he had set up a teleportation circle and returned to outside using it.

"What's going on?" someone asked in confusion.

"Is that... a person? Did someone just come out of the magic circle?"

The sudden appearance of the teleportation circle and the reaction it caused drew the attention of nearby adventurers.

Conversations paused as curious eyes turned toward Mahiro, accompanied by murmurs of speculation.

Mahiro glanced around briefly at the onlookers before starting to leave.

"Was that just a prank?" someone suggested, laughing nervously.

"Hahaha! Luther, you're such a coward for getting scared by something like this!"

"No way, I can't stop laughing at you!"

In this world, teleportation magic didn't exist.

Most magic was elemental, like fire, water, or wind, and primarily used for combat or support.

So when the teleportation circle appeared, the adventurers mistook it for a powerful and possibly dangerous spell.

To their surprise, no attack came from the circle—just a single person who calmly walked away as the light vanished.

It was unlike any magic they'd seen, more akin to an elaborate performance trick.

"Hey, kid, you're just going to walk away after scaring us like that?"

"Aren't you going to apologize?" A burly adventurer stepped forward, his face twisted in displeasure.

Mahiro stopped and looked at the man.

"Apologize? For what?"

"Don't play dumb!" the man snapped, puffing out his chest.

"You scared the hell out of me, and you think you can just walk away?"

The adventurer, known as Luther, enjoyed the attention of the crowd.

He wanted to use this opportunity to assert dominance over the seemingly inexperienced Mahiro.

To Luther, Mahiro's simple clothing and lack of equipment made him an easy target.

Mahiro sighed lightly.

"Fine. Sorry."

Luther's eyes twitched.

He could tell the apology wasn't sincere, and it made him angrier.

The murmurs from the crowd didn't help either.

"Luther, this kid doesn't care about you!" someone teased.

"Yeah, he's not taking you seriously at all!"

"Shut up!" Luther roared, his pride wounded.

Turning back to Mahiro, he snarled, "Apologize properly, or else!"

Luther stepped closer, raising his arm, intending to intimidate Mahiro.

But before he could act, Mahiro moved.

"Get lost," Mahiro slaped Luther across the face.

The sound echoed through the square as Luther was sent sprawling, landing nearly three meters away.

The crowd fell silent, stunned by what they had just witnessed.

"You idiots just going to stand there watching?" Luther growled as he struggled to his feet, his face swelling from the blow.

"Get over here and teach this guy a lesson!"

The adventurers who had been with Luther hesitated, but seeing his condition, they prepared to step forward.

Before they could act, Mahiro dashed toward Luther, slamming him back to the ground with a single, decisive move.

"If you want an apology, here's one!" Mahiro declared coldly, glaring down at Luther. "Now stay down!"

The onlookers gasped, their interest in the commotion growing.

Then someone in the crowd spoke up.

"Wait a second! Isn't that the guy who punched Loki at the guild yesterday?"

The murmurs in the crowd shifted direction.

"The one who punched Loki?"

"Yeah, I heard he's the same guy who supposedly hooked up with Sword Princess."

"Is that true?"

"I was there yesterday! He kicked Loki across the room and even told Ais to book a room with him right in front of her!"

"And the craziest part? She agreed!"

The gossip spread quickly, shifting attention away from the fight.

Luther's companions froze in place, exchanging nervous glances.

If Mahiro really had taken on Loki Familia and lived to tell the tale, there was no way they could afford to provoke him further.

They were just level one adventurers, and the risk wasn't worth it.

One by one, they backed off, leaving Luther to his fate.
