Highschool DxD: I have a Dimensional Travel System

Chapter 210: Another Good Thing

Chapter 210 - Another Good Thing

The atmosphere in the square, which had been tense moments ago due to the sudden appearance of the teleportation circle, had now shifted entirely.

Luther and his companions were left speechless after hearing about Mahiro.

"Luther, let it go," one of his companions said hesitantly.

"Yeah, it's not worth it. It was just a misunderstanding," added another, nodding quickly.

"Besides, Luther's already been knocked down. Let's just leave it at that," a third chimed in, forcing a nervous smile as he addressed Mahiro.

Mahiro, however, wasn't willing to let the situation slide so easily.

With his foot still firmly pressing down on Luther.

"I've already apologized, haven't I? But I don't think I've received his apology yet."

Mahiro detested people who preyed on the weak and backed down against the strong.

Luther's behavior epitomized that, and Mahiro saw no reason to let him off lightly.

If Luther insisted on picking fights, he'd reap the consequences.

Luther felt humiliated.

Regret surged through him.

Why had he started this? If he'd known it would end like this, he would have laughed it off with his companions and walked away.

But now, things had gone too far.

Hearing the whispers from the crowd only deepened Luther's despair.

His strength was no match for Mahiro's, and the thing that Mahiro had the support of a Level 5 adventurer crushed any hope he had of fighting back.

"I'm... sorry," Luther muttered, barely able to lift his head from the ground.

"Good," Mahiro said coldly.

With a sneer, he lifted his foot and walked away without another glance.

Luther and his companions, unable to endure the humiliation any longer, quickly fled in the opposite direction.

Mahiro opened the system panel.

To his surprise, the reputation points increased again.

"Unexpectedly gained another wave of reputation points," Mahiro mused.

Closing the panel, Mahiro made his way to the guild.

There, he traded the magic stones for over 200,000 valis in total.

Satisfied, he packed up the coins and left guild, heading toward Hephaestus shop in the northwest part of the city.

Because Hestia was staying there temporarily, it had become a natural stop for Mahiro.

Pushing open the door, he called out, "Lady Hestia, Lady Hephaestus!"

Inside, the two goddesses were busy arranging something.

Hearing Mahiro's voice, Hestia turned around with a bright smile.

She dropped what she was doing and ran over to greet him.

"Welcome back, Mahiro!" Hestia looked joyful.

Compared to Hephaestus, Hestia lacked majesty.

Yet her cheerful and carefree demeanor had a charm of its own.

To Mahiro, this goddess radiated a warmth that felt incredibly familiar and comforting.

Her smile alone was enough to dispel any weariness or frustration he carried.

"You didn't come to see me at all today. Were you in the dungeon?" Hestia wrapped her arms around him in an intimate hug.

"Yeah, I spent the whole day getting familiar with the dungeon's layout," Mahiro replied with a nod.

His gaze shifted slightly as he noticed something different. "By the way, what's with the outfit?"

Hestia was dressed in a maid's outfit, which looked both charming and playful.

"How is it? Do you like it?" she asked, spinning around to show it off. "The skirt was supposed to be shorter, but I thought you wouldn't like that, so I asked Hephaestus to adjust it."

"It's great. Really cute," Mahiro said with a smile.

"Really? I'm so glad!"

"But what made you decide to wear a maid outfit?" Mahiro asked curiously.

"It was her idea," Hephaestus said with a chuckle, looking toward Hestia.

Mahiro raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Why, though?"

"Hestia wanted to help you out," Hephaestus explained with a shrug.

"She asked me to find her a job, so I put her to work as a staff in the shop. I've been short-staffed anyway."

"Won't it be tiring for you?" Mahiro looked at Hestia gently.

"It's fine," Hestia replied with a cheerful smile.

Her eyes sparkled like crescent moons.

"If it's to help you. I'd be happy to do it."

"Thanks," Mahiro said softly, touched by her sincerity.

"Alright, you two, enough of that!" Hephaestus interrupted in annoyance.

Watching their affectionate interaction, she couldn't help but feel slightly envious.

"Hestia, don't forget you're working for me. You can't just slack off!"

Hestia stuck her tongue out playfully at Hephaestus.

"You know," Hephaestus continued, "it's funny how things turned out."

"Before you came along, Hestia was just a shut-in goddess."

"She spent three months here without even thinking about working."

"But ever since you appeared, she's suddenly motivated. If I'd known this would happen, I'd have forced her to start a familia ages ago!"

"Hey, I'm just not great with socializing!"

Hephaestus gave her a skeptical glance and let out a mocking laugh, making Hestia avert her gaze sheepishly.

"By the way, Mahiro," Hephaestus added, her tone softening.

"It's great that you're working hard, but try to come back earlier when you can."

"Someone gets restless without you."

Mahiro nodded. "I'll do my best, but I need to focus on earning more over the next few days."

"I'll likely spend full days in the dungeon."

Hephaestus sighed dramatically. "Fine, but just so you know, while you were gone today, Hestia wouldn't stop talking about you."

"She nearly drove me crazy, even suggesting I send someone to the dungeon to find you."

"Hey!"

Hestia pouted.

Mahiro smiled and looked at Hestia warmly.

"Sorry for worrying you, but don't worry. I promise to be careful and keep myself safe."
