Chapter 208: Fighting War Shadows Part 2

Chapter 208 - Fighting War Shadows Part 2

"20 points?"

The points earned from the War Shadow surprised Mahiro.

"If that's the case, monsters worth 100 points shouldn't be particularly high in level."

Kobolds and War Shadows are roughly in the same level, yet their points differ by a factor of twenty.

"I guess monsters around Level 3 or Level 4 should be able to reach 100 points."

Naturally, as the monsters get stronger, the points are naturally greater.

"Let's try deeper."

For Mahiro, the dungeon was the ideal place to strengthen his foundation.

While fighting monsters, he deliberately limited himself to swordsmanship.

He avoided using any of his abilities. Like Boosted Gear or even mystic eyes.

Using such powers here would consider overkill.

Until he encountered monsters that could challenge his physical limits, he would use those powers.

Thus gaining exp aka excelia at the same time.

To become stronger meant pushing his body to its peak and maintaining an optimal fighting state.

Growth for adventurers came through confronting challenges and breaking through limits under stress.

However, even though Mahiro held back and focused only on his base strength, still it exceeded what was required on the upper floors.

These monsters brought him no real challenge, and barely provided any points.

"Huh? It even dropped items. Guess today's my lucky day," Mahiro crouched down to pick up the magic stone.

Alongside it, he found a drop item.

"This feels more and more like an MMORPG," Mahiro gathered the item before heading to the next floor.

As the day drew to a close, the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky a deep crimson.

The city bustled with excitement as adventurers returned from the dungeon.

After a full day of exploration, Mahiro reached sixteenth floor, where monsters were around 50 points.

Most of his time had been spent traveling, with only brief stops to test the points of monsters.

Clearing about hundred monsters overall, nearly half of them were War Shadows on the twelfth floor.

"Let's keep going," Mahiro murmured, locating the staircase to the seventeenth floor.

However, he encountered three groups of adventurers carrying bags as they headed toward the upper floor.

"Is it already this late?" Mahiro muttered, checking his watch.

He had set it to the time after arriving in this world.

The clock read 5:00 PM.

He continued downward.

Mahiro wasn't planning to fight more monsters but instead wanted to set up a teleportation circle on the seventeenth floor.

As he descended the stairs, Mahiro overheard the adventurers talking.

The group belonged to Soma Familia.

Their leader, a demi-human, complained alongside his companions about their low harvest and Soma's refusal to provide divine wine for free.

"Soma?" Mahiro thought. 'That reminds me of that girl.'

Nevermind...

Mahiro brushed the thought aside and continued downward.

Meanwhile, the Soma Familia adventurers began whispering among themselves.

"Hey, boss, was that guy alone?" one of them asked.

"He was carrying a full backpack," another replied, greed glinting in his eyes.

Mahiro had nearly killed hundred monsters and the magic stones he had collected only made him a more tempting target.

"Could someone really reach the sixteenth floor alone?" one adventurer questioned.

The group fell silent, considering the possibility.

From what they knew, only high class adventurers could manage such a feat.

However, Mahiro was unfamiliar to them, so they assumed he wasn't a high class adventurer.

"Maybe he just got lucky and ended up here," another said.

"If he's really alone..." The leader looked the at the direction Mahiro went.
