Harry Potter: Becoming a Study God

Chapter 141: Chapter 141: Battle Royale Game Part 3

"Oops!!"

Harry shouted in his mind and hurriedly used the Shield Charm to block Ryan's spell, but right after that, he was tripped up by Michael's Leg-Locking Curse.

"He's down!"

Michael shouted and then he ran over, panting. He pointed his wand at Harry with his arm trembling slightly.

Though only a brief moment had passed and they hadn't run far, Michael felt a strange heat rising through his body. His breathing grew rapid, and his heart raced.

When Harry fell, his wand slipped from his hand, leaving him unable to resist. Victory was clearly within Michael's grasp.

However, Harry, lying on the ground, didn't look dejected; instead, he stared beside Michael in surprise.

Beside me?

Why isn't Ryan saying anything?

In an instant, a thought flashed through Michael's mind, and he shouted, "Stupe–!"

Suddenly, a spell hit Michael in the back, causing him to fall to the ground like a statue.

Next to him was Ryan, laying rigid as if he were a wooden post.

"Phweeeeoo—"

Hagrid blew his whistle, and his booming voice, like low thunder, called out from a distance…

"The White Team has been wiped out! Black Team wins!"

Michael blinked hard and saw someone suddenly "emerge" beside the pumpkin.

It was Wade, who seemed to have squeezed out from the air itself. He smiled at Michael and then lifted all the spells cast on them.

"Awesome, Wade!" Harry jumped up and exclaimed happily, "I thought we were done for sure!"

Michael shrieked in disbelief, "Disillusionment Charm?"

"Just learned it," Wade replied.

"No... that's not what I was asking…" Michael mumbled as his eyes glazed over.

Ryan stared silently at Wade, his gaze was accusatory—as if to say, isn't this just overkill?

Theo pulled Neville up, and the two of them brushed the dirt off their clothes and accepted their defeat rather calmly.

Then, they went to help gather the others.

"Disillusionment Charm?" Padma, now released from the spell, said in shock. "Isn't that the spell that works like an invisibility cloak?"

Wade explained, "The Disillusionment Charm isn't an external physical object... Besides, you can't expect to have no invisible enemies, right?"

"But we still haven't even mastered the Stunning Spell…" Padma said, feeling a bit wronged.

She couldn't shake the feeling that her team had been unfairly outmatched.

George sighed, while Fred grinned at him with a playful wink.

"But we had more people and the advantage of hiding a full minute earlier," Michael said while sitting on the ground in frustration.

After they gathered, he had started to understand why they'd been divided this way.

The Black and White teams were meant to be balanced, but they had unequal numbers, unequal prep time, and an early start, which allowed for ambushes and traps.

Clearly, in Wade's view, the three members of the Black Team were stronger than the seven on the White Team combined.

Fred and George were more or less even, but Wade and Harry were stronger than the other six on his side.

Wade's strength was no surprise to Michael—he'd prepared himself for that.

But Harry had joined the SSC later than everyone else. Though he'd learned spells quickly, Michael considered his academic skills rather average.

Yet, in real combat, surrounded by enemies, Harry had managed to take down two of them in quick succession.

Checking the time, they realized that only half of the allotted thirty minutes had passed.

The seven members of the White Team gathered together to discuss their tactics.

"We shouldn't have thought to hide right at the start," Hermione said, frustrated. "When Padma and I split off from you all, they found us and defeated us so easily."

Padma nodded in agreement beside her.

"With our numbers, we should've used our advantage," Hermione continued.

"We should also get to know the terrain," Michael suggested. "Ideally, we should all run through it and get familiar with the surroundings."

Watching the members of the White Team split off and start running in all directions, Harry asked in confusion, "What are they doing?"

"Trying to find a good spot for an ambush?" Fred guessed, then asked Wade, "Looks like they've got a new plan. Shouldn't we scout the terrain too?"

"It won't help."

Wade pointed to the tall Hagrid, who was moving a massive pumpkin to a different spot.

"See that?" Wade said. "After each round, Hagrid changes the positions of the pumpkins. He'll even let his chickens and pigs into the pumpkin patch to add to the chaos."

"How should we play the next round? Same strategy as this time?" Harry asked eagerly.

"That won't work," Fred said. "If they move as a group of seven, splitting up would just make it easier for us to get surrounded."

The two of them quietly discussed a rough strategy, constantly tweaking their plans.

Wade didn't intervene much; he was also silently absorbing everyone's tactics, observing their growth.

The second round of the battle began soon.

This time, the White Team lost even faster.

They managed to take down Harry and Fred, sacrificing only George from their side.

But then Wade used Transfiguration on the vines all around, turning them into dozens of snakes that attacked the White Team. The young wizards screamed in terror, their formation was thrown into complete disarray, and they were soon all frozen by Full Body-Bind Curse.

Third Round.

"Wade, your magic level is totally unfair! There's no way to win like this!" Michael began to protest, hinting to Padma to pretend to cry in a bid for some moral sympathy.

Wade rolled his eyes and asked, "How about this—Harry and Fred join your team. How does that sound?"

"Perfect!" Michael agreed without hesitation, and Padma instantly stopped crying.

Fred looked a bit disappointed, but Harry thought it was a great idea.

He was curious to see what it felt like to go up against Wade.

The nine of them put their heads together and discussed tactics for a full twenty minutes.

The Weasley twins even imitated their Quidditch captain, Wood, drawing complex strategy diagrams with triangles and lines.

Wade and Hagrid sat on a pumpkin nearby, drinking tea while waiting for them to be ready.

"Think you can handle nine-to-one?" Hagrid asked, a bit concerned.

Wade poked at a tiny ant crawling up the pumpkin with a mischievous smile. "They think I'm the one at a disadvantage, but what if it's actually the other way around?"

The game began, and the nine players took on various roles—some stood watch, some hid in ambush, others set traps, and one even disguised themselves as a pumpkin for a sneak attack.

Wade yawned lazily, not even bothering to get off the pumpkin.

The Engorgement Charm worked wonders.

The entire team ran, yelling, chased by a swarm of enlarged ants and spiders. They couldn't even get close to Wade; escaping without tears was a victory in itself.

Hagrid laughed so hard he toppled off his high stool.

"Forbidden! Forbidden!" After the round ended, even Hermione was shouting, "Wade, you're banned from using the Engorgement Charm again!"

Wade shrugged. "Why don't you use it too?"

Hermione glared at him with a blank expression.

It isn't that we don't want to use it.

Whenever we tried to enlarge the ants, the creatures immediately turned on us!
