Game Of Thrones : Merchant of Two Worlds

Chapter 105: 105. Qiqi makes you want to hit people

Jason Liu wiped the sweat off his forehead and let out a long sigh. "Why is life so exhausting?"

If it weren't for the fear of being dragged into an endless series of activities—shopping, movies, bars, or who knows what—he wouldn't have bothered to make up an excuse to leave early.

Back in the day, he didn't have the money for such outings. Now, he finally had the money, but no time.

Besides, Jason wasn't a fan of noisy places. Why waste time in a crowd when he could relax in bed, quietly scrolling through his phone in peace?

On the other side of town, Jiang Chuchu stared at her phone, frozen. Jason had hung up before she even got the chance to say a word. His rapid-fire excuses felt like bullets from a machine gun.

"Did he really just block me?" she muttered in disbelief, clenching her teeth. Frustration bubbling up, she immediately hit redial, ready to let him have it.

This time, she didn't even hear the phone ring. Instead, a robotic voice replied:

"The number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

The message was then repeated again, but Jiang Chuchu didn't need to hear it twice. She stared at her phone in shock, then slammed it down on the table.

"He blocked me? He actually blocked me!" she shouted, fuming with anger.

Her best friend, Lin Xiaohan, sat nearby, watching the scene unfold with a helpless smile. "Alright, alright. Calm down. If he doesn't want to come along, let's just enjoy ourselves. Didn't you say you wanted to watch that new movie tonight?"

Jiang Chuchu crossed her arms, pouting in frustration. "I was trying to set up a perfect chance for you two to spend time together, but he had to ruin it! What a waste of such a good opportunity!"

Lin Xiaohan chuckled. "You've really gone out of your way for this. I should be thanking you, but honestly, you're trying too hard. It's not like I'm desperate to date him or anything."

"Fine, whatever," Jiang said, grabbing Lin's arm and pulling her toward the exit. "Let's just go to the movie. If no one else will keep us company, we'll keep each other company!"

The two walked arm in arm, heading for the cinema downstairs.

Meanwhile, Jason was driving home in his shiny new sports car. The streets were dark, and the road wasn't well-lit, so he kept his speed between 50 and 70 kilometers per hour.

It wasn't that he didn't enjoy driving fast; he was just cautious. Night driving made him nervous, and as a relatively new driver, he didn't want to risk an accident.

"Better safe than sorry," he muttered to himself.

By the time he parked in his garage, it was nearly 10 p.m. Jason entered his villa, unlocked the door with a fingerprint scanner, and tossed his jacket onto the living room sofa.

Instead of heading upstairs to his bedroom, he decided to use the spacious bathroom on the ground floor. The bathroom was enormous—practically the size of a small apartment—but it felt a little too empty and cold.

Normally, Jason preferred the smaller bathroom attached to his bedroom. But tonight, he didn't care.

After a hot shower, he wrapped a towel around himself, dried his hair, and went back to the living room. Sitting on the sofa, he grabbed his phone and opened a mobile game.

Jason played a few rounds of Honor of Kings, but despite using his latest high-end Huawei phone, he couldn't escape his terrible skills. His teammates abandoned him one after another, frustrated with his poor performance.

"Ugh, what's the point of having an expensive phone if I'm still bad at this?" Jason muttered. Eventually, he gave up and exited the game.

Just as he was scrolling through his phone, a WeChat notification popped up.

The message was from Qiqi Jiang: "Brother Jason, is that a new car you posted in your Moments?"

Jason blinked, a bit surprised. He hadn't spoken to Qiqi in weeks, not since their last casual conversation. He'd been so busy lately that he hadn't even visited her live stream.

Still, it was nice to hear from her. Chatting with someone as cheerful and good-looking as Qiqi was always enjoyable, even if it was just through messages. Meeting her in person? Now, that was too much effort.

Jason replied: "Yeah, it's new."

Qiqi: "Is it a Ferrari? It looks amazing!"

Jason: "Yeah, but it's not very comfortable to drive."

Qiqi: "That's how sports cars are—great performance, but low comfort. Didn't you join my live stream tonight?"

Jason: "No, I've been busy. What about you? Were you dancing again?"

In her luxurious apartment in Magic City, Su Qiqi had just finished her live stream. She had removed her makeup but still looked stunning.

Scrolling through her Moments feed, she noticed Jason's post about his new car. A sly smile crept onto her lips as she decided to send him a message.

She wasn't just being friendly. Without consistent support from big spenders like Jason, her live stream earnings would take a hit. The casual viewers—those who tipped sparingly or not at all—weren't enough to sustain her lifestyle.

"Time to keep my audience engaged," she muttered, typing another message.

Qiqi: "Brother Jason, what have you been up to lately? Don't you miss me? You haven't been to my live stream in so long!"

Jason replied casually:3 "I've been busy setting up a company. Haven't had much free time lately."

Qiqi paused, surprised. "A company? Is he serious?" She vaguely remembered him mentioning this before but had assumed he was joking.

Qiqi: "Wow, are you serious? What's the company called?"

Jason: "Yuansen Trading. Just finished registering yesterday. Planning to hire staff tomorrow."

Curious, Qiqi opened a business registry app and searched for the company. The result left her stunned:

Yuansen Trading Co., Ltd.

Founder and CEO: Jason LiuRegistered Capital: 10 million yuan

She stared at the screen, blinking. "Is he actually a hidden tycoon?"

Qiqi: "10 million yuan?! Did you really earn all that yourself, Brother Jason?"

Jason: "If you can't be born into wealth, you just have to create it yourself."

Qiqi rolled her eyes, both impressed and annoyed. "Why does he make it sound so easy?" she muttered, unable to decide whether she wanted to admire him or smack him.
