Fantasy Wolf Psychosis

Chapter 5: Chapter 4 Rumors abound.

Ethan came out of the old scholar's hut, the morning sun on his face, but his heart was unusually heavy. He recalled the ritual and the experience of the dream, and though he had found some clues under the guidance of the old scholar, these clues remained vague, as if obscured by a veil of mystery.

As he walked along the village road, he felt that something was wrong with the atmosphere around him. When the villagers saw him, their eyes were full of curiosity and fear, and they talked in low voices. As he passed, the chatter stopped abruptly, and everyone quickly lowered their heads and stopped looking at him.

A little uneasy in Ethan's heart, he stopped and saw several villagers gathered together, talking in low voices. Although their voices were low, Ethan heard a few key words: "evil," "unfortunate," "dangerous."

His heart sank as he realized that these rumors had begun to spread through the village. He felt a wave of anger and helplessness, knowing that his condition had been misunderstood and exaggerated. The dreams and rituals of the old scholar were taken by the villagers as evidence of his evil spirit.

Ethan walked home quickly, and the villagers along the way shied away as if there was something ominous about him. When he got home, he saw his parents sitting at the dinner table with worried expressions on their faces.

"Ethan, did you hear?" The foster mother asked cautiously.

Ethan nodded, sat down and sighed wearily. "I hear you. They're all saying I'm obsessed."

The adoptive father shook his head, his face full of concern. "The villagers are so superstitious, they saw your recent performance, and began to speculate."

"Ethan, are you sure you're okay?" The foster mother asked with concern.

Ethan forced a forced smile and said, "I'm fine. I've just been having some weird dreams lately, but that doesn't mean I'm obsessed."

The foster mother nodded and patted him on the shoulder, "We believe you, but the villagers don't think so." They are afraid of the unknown and are easily dominated by fear."

Ethan feels powerless. He knows he can't change the villagers' minds, but he has to protect himself from the gossip that is affecting his life. He decided to avoid the rumors for a while, retire to his room, and think about his next move.

Just then there was a knock at the door. Ethan felt a pang of tension, and his adoptive parents immediately became alarmed. My foster father stood up, walked to the door, and opened it.

Outside the door stood a few villagers, their faces written with tension and unease. The villager at the head, an older woman, looked at Ethan's adoptive father and said with a trembling voice, "Mr. Gray, we've heard that Ethan is under the devil. Is it true?"

His adoptive father's face darkened and he said in a deep voice, "Ethan is not evil, these are misrepresentations. He's just had some strange dreams lately, but it doesn't mean anything. '

The woman, apparently unconvinced, continued, "But everyone in the village is talking about it, and everyone is afraid. We hope you will understand that we must protect the village."

Ethan's adoptive mother stepped forward and tried to calm the situation, "Please calm down, Ethan won't hurt anyone." We'll find a way to fix it."

Still, the villagers' faces were full of doubt and fear, and they whispered and whispered. Ethan felt weak. He knew that these rumors were deeply rooted in the minds of the villagers, and it would not be easy to change their opinions.

"We'll take care of it," he said firmly. "Please go back and stop spreading these rumors."

The villagers were reluctant, but eventually they withdrew. After the door closed, the adoptive father sighed heavily and sat back down at the table.

"We have to find a way to put these rumors to rest," the foster mother said with concern. "Otherwise, Ethan's life will become much more difficult."

Ethan nodded. He knew his parents' concerns were valid, but he also knew he had to do something to protect himself and his family. He decided to avoid the rumors for a while, retire to his room, and think about his next move.

He went back to his room and lay down in bed, replaying in his mind what had just happened. He felt a wave of weakness and anger, but more confused and upset. He didn't know how to deal with the rumors, or how to solve the mystery of the dream.

Just then, Elena suddenly appeared at the door of his room. She came in and asked, "Ethan, are you okay?"

Ethan sat up and forced a smile. "I'm fine. It's just that the rumors are bothering me."

Elena sat by his bed, held his hand, and said firmly, "No matter what happens, I will be there for you." We can find a way to solve this problem."

Ethan felt the warmth of knowing that he was not alone and that Elena and her family were there for him. Instead of running away, he decides to face these challenges and find answers to dreams and rumors.

"Thank you, Elena," Ethan said affectionately. "I feel better with you by my side."

Elena smiled and nodded, "We face together, no matter how many difficulties ahead."

Ethan feels a surge of strength in his heart, and he knows he must face everything bravely and find the answer to the dream and the gossip. He took a deep breath and said firmly, "We will find the answer, no matter what lies ahead."

Elena nodded, her eyes shining with determination. "We'll get through this together, Ethan."

Despite Elena's support, Ethan's unease is still hard to dispel. When he returned to his room, he felt exhausted, but even more afraid to enter that terrible dream again. The images in those dreams were so real that it was as if he had really experienced everything in that world.

He decided to try not to sleep again, to escape the nightmares. He lit a dim oil lamp, sat down at his desk, picked up a book and tried to read, but his thoughts could not concentrate. Every word danced before his eyes, but could not form a complete sentence.

As the hours passed, the silence of the night made him feel more alone and helpless. The wind was blowing out of the window, and it seemed as if countless pairs of eyes were watching him in the darkness. Ethan felt a chill, and he gave an involuntary shiver, trying to drive these fears away.

He got up and began pacing the room, trying to keep himself awake in this way. However, the fatigue of his body gradually increased, his eyelids became heavier and his consciousness became blurred. He knew he couldn't go on like this, but he didn't know how to face the nightmares either.

"Can't sleep, can't sleep..." Ethan kept whispering to himself, trying to stay awake.

But in the end, the limits of his body overcame his will. He felt his eyes darkened, lost consciousness, and fell heavily to the ground.

When he opened his eyes again, he found himself back in the dark forest. The scene around him was as real as the previous dream, and the air smelled of blood and fear. He knew that this was not reality, but his worst nightmare.

Ethan felt his heart pounding and fear welling up again. His body seemed bound by invisible forces, unable to move. Suddenly, in the distance, he heard a low growl, fierce and hostile, approaching rapidly.

He struggled to free himself from this bondage, but it was all in vain. He felt a wave of despair and knew he could not escape it.

Just then he saw the figures of the werewolves. Their eyes gleamed with blood and their mouths grinned. As they approached, Ethan could feel their breathing and their footsteps, and the pressure almost suffocated him.

"Ethan," whispered the leading werewolf, with a hint of mockery in his voice, "you've come at last."

Ethan felt a sharp pain as his body was slammed to the ground and the claws of the werewolves drove deep into his muscles. He struggled desperately, but all was in vain.

"You will be our sacrifice," whispered the Werewolf, his voice cold and cruel, "and your blood will bring us strength."

Ethan's vision grew darker as his consciousness faded. He felt a rush of fear and despair, but his body could not move. He knew he couldn't escape it.

Just as he was about to lose consciousness, he heard Elena's voice, which seemed to come from far away, with a touch of warmth and hope.

"Ethan, wake up! It was only a dream, you must wake up!"

Ethan fought like hell to wake up from his dream. His body trembled violently, as if he were in a life-or-death struggle. Finally, he suddenly opened his eyes and found himself lying on the floor, surrounded by the familiar room and the dim light.

He gasped, feeling the sweat soaking through his clothes. Elena was crouching next to him, her face worried.

"Are you okay, Ethan?" Elena asked softly.

Ethan nodded. Though his body was still weak, he knew he had to find answers to these nightmares. He felt a surge of strength in his heart and said firmly, "We will find the answer, no matter what lies ahead."

Elena smiled and nodded, holding his hand tightly, as if passing her power on to him. Ethan felt a warmth, and he knew that with Elena by his side, he was not alone.

"I decided to go back to the old scholar," Ethan said with a hint of conviction. "Maybe he can give me some more clues."

"I'll go with you," Elena said immediately, her eyes filled with concern.

Ethan nodded gratefully. "Thank you, Elena. I feel much better having you by my side."

They left the house and walked down the village road that led to the old scholar's cottage. The morning sun was pouring down on every corner of the village, but Ethan felt the atmosphere around him very heavy. When the villagers saw him and Elena, they stopped their work and stared at them with strange eyes.

"Look, that's Ethan. Is he really obsessed?" "A woman whispered to a nearby villager.

"I heard he's been having strange dreams lately, and people in the village say he's possessed by evil spirits," another villager responded, his voice filled with fear and disbelief.

The murmurs reached Ethan's ears, and he felt a sharp pain in his heart. He knows that these rumors are deeply rooted in the hearts of the villagers, and it will not be easy to change their opinions.

"Let's ignore them," Elena whispered. "If we find the truth, everything will be all right."

Ethan nodded, but he knew it wasn't that simple. As they reached the central square of the village, several villagers stood in front of them. At the head of the group was the older woman, her face marked with alarm and unease.

"Ethan, you can't go on like this," the woman said sharply. "Your evil spirit will bring disaster to the village!"

Ethan felt a surge of anger, which he tried to suppress and said calmly, "I'm not evil, it's just some misunderstanding." I'm looking for a solution to the problem. Trust me."

However, the woman is clearly not convinced, she sneers: "We have seen enough evidence, your dreams, your behavior, these are signs of evil." For the safety of the village, we can't let you stay here any longer."

'You can't do that! Elena shouted angrily. "Ethan didn't do anything wrong, he was just trying to find answers!"

The villagers' eyes fluttered between Elena and Ethan, and it was clear that they were not entirely convinced by Elena's words. A stout man came forward, his eyes full of hostility.

"We must protect the village," the man said coldly. "If you really don't have a problem, let the old scholar prove it to us."

Ethan felt a jolt of weakness. He knew he couldn't convince the villagers in this situation. He turned to look at Elena, his eyes full of frustration.

"Let's go," Elena whispered, "and find the old scholar and ask him to help us."

Ethan nodded and they tried to move around the villagers. But the group of villagers did not intend to let them leave easily, and several young villagers quickly stepped forward and blocked their way.

"You can't go anywhere," said one young man, his voice threatening. "We won't let you go around with your evil spirit."

Elena squeezed Ethan's hand, a flicker of anxiety in her eyes, but she said firmly, "We must go to the old scholar. He can help us figure this out."

Ethan felt powerless. He knew that continuing to confront the villagers would only intensify the conflict. He took a deep breath, tried to compose himself, and said quietly, "We just want answers. Please get out of the way."

However, the villagers were clearly not going to back down, and their eyes were full of determination. Just as the two sides were deadlocked, the old scholar's voice came from a distance.

"Let them come," the old scholar came slowly, smiling kindly, "and I'll sort it out."

Hearing the old scholar's words, the villagers gave way one after another. Ethan and Elena walked quickly up to the old scholar and looked at him gratefully.

"Thank you, old scholar," Ethan said. "We need your help."

The old scholar nodded, a complex light in his eyes. "Come on, boys, let's go back to the hut and talk about it."

They followed the old scholar back to his hut, where he motioned for them to sit down, still smiling kindly.

"Ethan, Elena, I understand your confusion and fear," the old scholar said, "but believe me, we will find a way to solve this problem."

Ethan nodded, feeling a little relieved. He knew that the old scholar was their only hope.

The old scholar took down the old book from the shelf, turned to a page, and said, "We need to perform a deeper ritual. This ritual may help you find the truth of your dreams."

Elena took Ethan's hand and said firmly, "We face it together, no matter how difficult it is."

Ethan felt a surge of strength in his heart, and he knew he had to face this bravely. He took a deep breath and said firmly, "We will find the answer, no matter what lies ahead."

The old scholar smiled and nodded and began to prepare the items needed for the ceremony. Ethan and Elena support each other, and their hearts are filled with hope.
