Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Testings and Warnings
"Is it really that dangerous to risk your life for a soul master under level 20?" Gu Yue's face turned pale, but she didn't give up, asking again.
"Master, Bi Ji really cannot use her soul power right now. Please, for Bi Ji's years of service in protecting the Star Dou Forest, do not let her take such risks," Zhi Ji kneeled before Gu Yue, her head bowed and her teeth gritted. Even her once-beautiful, captivating appearance now looked somewhat pale.
Every word Gu Yue spoke felt like a knife in their hearts.
When Gu Yue asked her final question, it was clear that she considered both Tang Wulin and Bi Ji to be extremely important.
But Zhi Ji still couldn't let go of her hope, still attempting to awaken Gu Yue's will.
"How do you know I'm planning to have Bi Ji take a risk?" Gu Yue wasn't naive, and immediately noticed the problem.
"Didn't you come here to have Bi Ji help save Tang Wulin?" Zhi Ji bitterly smiled.
"Xia Yi told you, didn't he?" Gu Yue asked coldly.
Zhi Ji nodded, and didn't speak any further.
Gu Yue didn't respond immediately. She glanced at the weakened Bi Ji before looking back at the still-lying Tang Wulin on his hospital bed. At this moment, she truly didn't know what to do.
Zhi Ji and Di Tian, understanding her silence, chose not to speak again, silently awaiting Gu Yue's decision.
The atmosphere grew tense and awkward, but then Bi Ji's weak voice broke the silence. "Our lives belong to the master. If the master orders, I will follow, even if it means my soul scattering."
Seeing Bi Ji's frail state, Gu Yue felt a pang of guilt, but she hesitantly asked, "Is your injury really this serious?"
Bi Ji didn't answer directly but sighed lightly, saying, "Humans have the support of battle armor. We are no longer their match. If it weren't for the master's timely awakening, the Star Dou Forest would have been destroyed by now. If it helps the master, my life is not important."
"You... really don't fear death?" Gu Yue's voice trembled, but she still asked a question that made the several fierce beasts present shiver in cold fear.
"For the master, for the Star Dou Forest, Bi Ji fears nothing," Bi Ji said weakly but with unwavering determination.
"To save just a first-ring soul master, trust me, with your strength comparable to an Extreme Douluo, you will be fine," Gu Yue took a deep breath and spoke slowly.
Bi Ji's refusal to fear death was because of her dedication to the Star Dou Forest, not because she was willing to risk her life to save a human. Xia Yi couldn't stand it anymore and kicked the door open to storm in.
"Why did you do that?" Gu Yue's eyes immediately turned cold as she glared at Xia Yi. "It was just a match, yet you went so far as to hurt him so badly."
"I know it was a match. If it were in the Star Dou Forest, that Tang Wulin would have been dead by now," Xia Yi's voice grew colder. "If it weren't for you betraying me, I would never have resorted to such means."
"So now, you're blaming me?" Gu Yue glared at Xia Yi coldly.
Xia Yi sneered and pointed at Di Tian, Zhi Ji, and the injured Bi Ji. "Look at the beasts around you. Which one hasn't protected you for hundreds of thousands of years? Which one isn't loyal to you? But what about you? What are you planning? You want to use their lives to save a human's life. Don't forget, humans are their enemies. Don't you fear making them resent you? Think carefully about your position now. Do you still think your actions are right?"
Xia Yi took a deep breath before continuing, "Today, you want to sacrifice Bi Ji for Tang Wulin. Will you sacrifice Di Tian tomorrow for a Wang Wulin? And the day after that, sacrifice Zhi Ji for a Li Wulin? Eventually, will you sacrifice the entire Star Dou Forest for a Yang Wulin?"
"As the Beast King, think carefully about whether what you're doing is worthy of that title."
"Also, as the Beast King, if you can't even keep the most basic reason and logic, perhaps it's better to step down from that position. Otherwise, the spirit beasts will be led into an endless abyss."
"I know dragons are lustful nature, but if you truly cannot control your desires for males, I hope you can still distinguish between friends and enemies. If you can't control yourself, there are plenty of males in the Star Dou Forest. Don't just see any male and..."
"Shut your mouth!" Gu Yue's voice was like ice, every word trembling with fury. Her body shook with rage. She, the Silver Dragon King, had never been so humiliated.
And what Xia Yi had said was truly unbearable.
"Forget it, let's leave. Let your master calm down on her own," Xia Yi shook his head, choosing not to continue scolding.
Di Tian nodded, picking up Bi Ji and, with Zhi Ji, turned to leave.
Xia Yi also left but didn't go far. After buying some food from a nearby restaurant, he turned back and returned to the room.
Gu Yue didn't leave. However, her eyes were a bit red and swollen. Xia Yi froze for a moment. He hadn't expected the powerful Soul Beast Queen to quietly shed tears.
Seeing Xia Yi walk in, Gu Yue quickly wiped the tears from her face and coldly looked at him.
Xia Yi divided the food into two portions, placing one in front of Gu Yue, while he ate his own portion and said, "I can see that you really want to save the Star Dou Forest. You just can't control your emotions. That's the reason I'm still here. If you really didn't care about the Star Dou Forest, I wouldn't be back, nor would I be wasting my breath with you."
Gu Yue still didn't speak, but her gaze softened a little.
During Xia Yi's absence, Gu Yue had thought things over. She realized that her actions toward Bi Ji had been a bit cruel.
At the same time, she had hurt Di Tian and Zhi Ji's feelings.
If Xia Yi had been even a little later, she would have gone to apologize to Di Tian and the others herself.
Xia Yi, with his head down and happily eating, continued speaking, "Actually, Bi Ji wasn't injured. I asked her to pretend. The purpose was to test you. But your performance was, to put it lightly, awful."
Because his head was lowered, Xia Yi didn't see the murderous look in Gu Yue's eyes.
"You actually colluded with Di Tian and the others to test me." Gu Yue suddenly stood up, gritting her teeth as she stared at Xia Yi, her eyes filled with murderous intent.
"I know what you're about to say, 'disrespectful,' right? Di Tian and the others said the same thing." Xia Yi smirked and casually said, "The premise of 'disrespect' is that you deserve respect. But think about it, did your actions earlier deserve respect from Di Tian and the others?"
After hearing Xia Yi's words, Gu Yue, who had just stood up, slumped back down into her seat. She coldly looked at Xia Yi and asked, "It was all part of your plan from the beginning, wasn't it?"
"You could say that. When I first entered East Sea Academy, I noticed how you looked at Tang Wulin. Plus, you instinctively warned him to be careful of my strength, so I decided to test you," Xia Yi said truthfully.
"Now I understand why the Lord of the Plane wants to suppress you," Gu Yue's murderous intent faded from her eyes. She hadn't expected that Xia Yi, based on a simple look she gave Tang Wulin, would come up with such a well-thought-out plan.
He had even considered the medical capabilities of East Sea City, despite never having been to the human world.
"It wasn't that hard, actually. The only difficulty was convincing Di Tian and the others to cooperate," Xia Yi said with a smile.
"How did you convince Di Tian?" Gu Yue asked coldly. She couldn't understand why Di Tian would cooperate with Xia Yi to act out this test on her.
"I told them I wasn't testing you," Xia Yi lifted his head and spoke in a serious tone.
"Not testing me? Then what was it?" Gu Yue snorted, clearly not buying Xia Yi's words.
"We were reminding you," Xia Yi's gaze was intense as he looked at Gu Yue, speaking gravely. "I'm reminding you of your identity, and at the same time, I'm telling you, now is the time to cut ties quickly, before you sink too deep."
Gu Yue's pupils contracted sharply. She stared at Xia Yi for a full minute before slowly nodding.
She believed that Di Tian, Zhi Ji, and Bi Ji would never have tried to test her; if it were a reminder, then as her subordinates, it was their responsibility to remind her when the master made a mistake.
"Di Tian's and their original intention was a reminder, but your original intention was to test me, wasn't it?" Gu Yue said coldly. Though her anger toward Xia Yi was still present, after a period of reflection, she realized that neither Xia Yi nor Di Tian was wrong.
In fact, they were both doing it for her own good.
Ding...
A ringing sound came, and Gu Yue pulled out her soul guide communicator. It was a call from Wu Chang Kong.
Before Gu Yue could speak, Xia Yi snatched the communicator from her hand, answered it, and spoke before Wu Zhangkong could say anything. "Teacher Wu, I'm Xia Yi. I've already defeated Tang Wulin. Has my assessment passed? When can I attend classes in Class Zero?"

Wu Zhangkong immediately hung up the soul guide communicator.
