Douluo Dalu 2: Sun-Moon Glory

Chapter 179: Chapter 177: Snow Empress’ Triple Strike in the Ultimate Ice Armor

As Huo Yuhao's second orange-gold soul ring lit up with a dazzling glow, the expression on Snow Empress—still observing the duel as referee—shifted into surprise. She could clearly sense the immense power surging through the Ultimate Ice Armor at that moment, and it stirred something even in her Limit Douluo heart.

The mecha swiftly raised its right arm, and to everyone's astonishment, it struck forward with a palm directly toward the incoming Icefire Poison Dragon Drill!

Meng Hongchen, who had already halted just a few meters away and was preparing to follow up with another attack, froze in place when she saw this scene unfold. Her crimson eyes widened, mouth opening slightly in disbelief. 'He's crazy! Is he actually trying to block my strongest move head-on like this? Is he planning to lose an entire arm on that mecha just to look cool?'

But while Meng Hongchen was stunned, Snow Empress made no move to intervene or protect Huo Yuhao—despite the seemingly reckless situation. As the person who had created the skill, she understood better than anyone what Huo Yuhao was trying to do.

The Ultimate Ice Armor's metal palm collided lightly—almost lazily—with the Icefire Poison Dragon Drill. In that exact moment, it felt as though time had come to a halt.

The spiraling drill, shimmering with illusionary dragon shadows, spun wildly as it tried to pierce through the arm of the mecha—but it failed. The armor didn't move an inch. A perfect equilibrium seemed to be achieved, one that momentarily suspended the flow of motion itself.

But in truth, it wasn't the physical strength of the metal arm that stopped the attack. The real force resisting the drill was the deep-blue glow concentrated in the space between the armor and the drill—a glow of power compressed to its limit. That concentrated aura, filled with chilling ice energy, was holding back Meng Hongchen's strongest offensive strike.

Then, in the very next instant, the energy erupted.

That devastating cold aura, centered on the metal palm, surged outward in a burst of pure elemental fury. The frost rapidly expanded for just a moment before snapping inward, collapsing on itself and enveloping the Icefire Poison Dragon Drill completely.

BOOM—

The Icefire Poison Dragon Drill exploded without warning, unable to withstand the crushing cold. The spiritual power and soul energy Meng Hongchen had poured into the skill were scattered into the ocean air as a brilliant blast of ice and fire.

The shockwave that rippled outward barely left a scratch on the Ultimate Ice Armor.

Meng Hongchen's strongest attack—launched at full power, enhanced by Ice Feedback, and intended to win the duel—had ended just like that. With a flick of Huo Yuhao's palm, it was dismantled and neutralized.

"Senior, I surrender."

Huo Yuhao's voice echoed from within the armor. Then, the mecha slowly deactivated, receding into his storage soul tool. The next second, Huo Yuhao reappeared with both arms raised in surrender, a little out of breath.

Meng Hongchen stood still, dumbfounded. 'My strongest soul skill… just got swatted away like a mosquito…'

And yet he still dared to come out looking like the loser?

Fuming, she pouted and huffed, "You call that losing? Are you looking down on me or something? You didn't even let me fight properly!"

Seeing that she was truly upset, Huo Yuhao lowered his hands and gave her a helpless smile. "Senior, don't let how effortless that looked fool you. That move drained a ridiculous amount of soul power. Snow Empress, could you please back me up here?"

Snow Empress floated closer and nodded in agreement. "Little Meng, he's telling the truth. From what I can sense, Yuhao probably has less than half his soul power left. If you kept fighting, you still had enough reserves to outlast him. In the end, he would've lost."

Huo Yuhao eagerly nodded in sync with her words. "Exactly! Couldn't have said it better!"

Though still a little grumpy, Meng Hongchen finally calmed down. Even though she technically won, the way she won still felt a little... embarrassing. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at Huo Yuhao, who was now whistling nervously and pretending to admire the sky. Turning back to Snow Empress, she asked with curiosity,

"Snow Empress, what exactly was that soul skill Yuhao just used? How could it destroy my Icefire Poison Dragon Drill so easily?"

She had used that soul skill with full augmentation. Even a Soul Sage wouldn't be able to take it directly without flinching. Huo Yuhao, however, had done exactly that—with style.

Snow Empress gave a light smile. "It's one of my signature moves—the first of my famed Triple Strikes: Empress Palm, Empress Sword, and Empress Ice Heaven. What Yuhao used just now was the Empress Palm, but instead of channeling it through his body, he released it through his metal armor. The steel frame amplified the power significantly. That, combined with the ice attribute's natural suppression of fire, is what allowed him to completely disperse your strongest attack."

Meng Hongchen's eyes widened in awe. 'He channeled a soul skill through a mecha…?'

That kind of integration, turning a soul tool into an extension of one's body, wasn't just difficult—it bordered on genius.

"Thank you for the explanation, Snow Empress," she said with a respectful bow.

But before she could say anything more, she turned back to Huo Yuhao, eyes glinting with mischief. "Yuhao… since you lost, and made me win in such an anticlimactic way, don't you think there should be a little… punishment?"

Huo Yuhao, who had been slowly inching away toward the Sun Moon, stopped dead in his tracks. He turned cautiously, stiffening his back like a soldier reporting to duty. "Senior… What kind of punishment are we talking about?"

Her grin widened.

"Hmph! Tonight, when we go to sleep, you have to lie still like a wooden dummy while I get to pose and arrange you however I like. Got it?"

Huo Yuhao and Snow Empress: "..."

Wiping the sweat from his brow, Huo Yuhao wasn't sure whether to be thrilled or terrified. He lowered his head humbly, walked up to Meng Hongchen, and bowed like a loyal servant. "As you command, Lady Meng. Allow this humble one to escort you back to our cabin aboard the Sun Moon."

Meng Hongchen burst into laughter at his exaggerated formality, but quickly composed herself, placing her hands behind her back. "Then lead the way, loyal subject."

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

Snow Empress watched them go, shaking her head with an exasperated smile. 'These two… absolutely hopeless.'

Not wanting to disturb the little comedy act, she quietly faded away and returned to Huo Yuhao's spiritual world.

Far away in Sunrise City, by the ocean's edge…

A green-clad figure stood barefoot on the sand, staring out toward the endless horizon where sea met sky. Her voice murmured like a whisper in the wind. "So this… is the ocean? There's nothing like this back in the Star Dou Forest."

The Sacred Beast couldn't help but feel proud of her decision to leave the forest and explore the human world. The freshness of this journey—the boundless sky, the vast ocean, the freedom—was more exciting than anything she'd ever experienced within her protected sanctuary.

However, there was still one thing that dampened her mood slightly: the reason she had embarked on this journey… and the person she was looking for.
