Douluo Dalu 2: Sun-Moon Glory

The reborn Demon Soul Great White Shark princess swam joyfully through the sea. How could Meng Hongchen, who now possessed the first soul spirit in the history of soul masters, not be excited as well? She glanced excitedly at her newly obtained sixth soul ring, pitch-black and massive, then turned to Huo Yuhao and beamed brightly, raising a victorious "V" gesture.

Huo Yuhao also breathed a sigh of relief. 'At last, the soul spirit contract for Senior Meng was completed safely.'

As for Shi Dongsheng, he was completely speechless. He stared blankly at the translucent white shark figure swimming through the water, clearly sensing the true aura of a Demon Soul Great White Shark radiating from it. 'This… this soul spirit actually succeeded?'

After swimming freely for a little while, the white shark gently swam up to Huo Yuhao and transmitted a message with heartfelt sincerity. "Thank you, human. I often make 'shuu-shuu' sounds when I swim, so my parents used to call me Shuu Shuu. You can call me that too from now on."

Then she moved to Meng Hongchen, affectionately rubbing her smooth cheek against Meng Hongchen's. Meng Hongchen smiled as she gently petted the shark's silky body. "Alright, Shuu Shuu. You can call me Little Meng from now on."

"Okay then, I'll go rest for now. I feel very tired and need some sleep. I'll be waiting for you two to fulfill your promise."

Leaving behind those final words, the soul spirit Shuu Shuu returned to Meng Hongchen's spiritual sea to rest and recover. It was easy to tell that after leaving the body that had been corrupted by external forces, Shuu Shuu's innocent, lively nature had fully emerged.

Huo Yuhao wasn't in a hurry to leave. He gazed thoughtfully at the shark's lifeless body. 'A noble princess of the Demon Soul Great White Shark clan with over 80,000 years of cultivation... could her body possibly contain a soul bone?'

With that thought, he eagerly summoned the Ice Empress' pincer. Under the surprised gazes of Meng Hongchen and Shi Dongsheng, he swam over to the corpse and began dissecting it with practiced precision.

"Left arm bone… nothing."

"Right arm bone… nothing."

"Left leg bone… nope."

"Right leg… also no."

"Trunk bone… still nothing."

"Skull… sigh, nothing."

The more he searched, the more disappointed he became. 'A dignified Demon Soul Great White Shark princess… and not even a single soul bone? How lame.'

If Shuu Shuu knew what he was thinking, she would probably puff up her cheeks in anger and call him a big jerk.

Just as Huo Yuhao was about to give up, he suddenly sensed something unusual within the corpse. 'That strange energy… it's coming from the eyes!'

He immediately turned his attention to the area around the eyes and carefully dissected further, collecting some other valuable materials from the once-noble shark's body as he worked.

"This is… an external eye bone!"

"Eye bone…?"

Even Shi Dongsheng was stunned. Though he had slain countless sea soul beasts aboard the Sun Moon, he had never seen such a peculiar eye bone before.

Finally, Huo Yuhao's persistence paid off. From the corpse of the Demon Soul Great White Shark princess, he unearthed an incredibly rare and beautiful pair of external eye bones. The crystal-clear pieces shimmered like water, elegant and stunning. If a soul master were to absorb them, their eyes would surely become dazzlingly beautiful.

External soul bones were already many times rarer than standard ones. But an eye bone? That was the rarest of the rare—virtually unheard of.

Huo Yuhao held the bones and frowned slightly.

'Shuu Shuu appears to be a dual-attribute sea soul beast—ice and spiritual attributes. And this eye bone… it's spiritual, not ice.'

Meng Hongchen could sense it too. Smiling softly, she looked at the eye bone in Huo Yuhao's hands, unable to take her eyes off it. "Yuhao, this soul bone should go to you. It suits you perfectly. An 80,000-year spiritual-attribute external eye bone—it goes hand in hand with your Spiritual Eye martial soul."

Huo Yuhao gazed at her with deep affection. Without any hesitation, he accepted the gift.

"Mm. Let me see if there are any other bones."

With that, Huo Yuhao resumed digging through the body, hoping to uncover more soul bones. Sadly, there were none.

That was expected. Even ten-thousand-year soul beasts rarely dropped more than one soul bone—unless it was an extraordinary bloodline like a Dragon King, capable of producing a full set.

Sighing with a hint of regret, Huo Yuhao returned to Meng Hongchen and Shi Dongsheng's side. He turned to the captain. "That's about everything. Captain Shi, let's return to the Sun Moon."

Only then did Shi Dongsheng snap out of the awe the soul spirit had left him in. Nodding, he guided the three of them back aboard using the underwater soul tool.

Once back on the ship, Huo Yuhao and Meng Hongchen sorted through the spoils they had collected. They picked out a few decent-quality soul bones and some rare heavenly treasures. Then, feeling generous, they decided to leave the rest for the Sun Moon crew.

Most of the heavenly treasures were of no real use to two people who came from the Mingde Hall. As for the soul bones, none of them came close to the newly obtained 80,000-year external eye bone. They were all standard types—only one was a ten-thousand-year bone, and it didn't suit either of them. However, this particular gold-attribute soul bone seemed to be a good match for Xiao Hongchen, so they decided to take that one along as well.

With the loot distributed, it was time for the Sun Moon to head back. As the return journey began, Huo Yuhao and Meng Hongchen retired to their cabin to rest, reflect, and begin absorbing their soul bones.

Huo Yuhao planned to absorb the 80,000-year Demon Soul Great White Shark external eye bone immediately. But before starting, he asked Meng Hongchen, "Senior, what's your sixth soul skill like?"

Meng Hongchen gave a sly smile. "Hehe… that's a secret~ I'll tell you when the time is right. What I can say is—it's strong. Very strong."

Huo Yuhao didn't mind. He smiled with satisfaction. 'As long as it's powerful, that's enough. She'll show me when the time comes.'

"Senior, you're really mischievous. Shuu Shuu might be able to give you another ten-thousand-year soul ring. If your eighth and ninth soul rings could both come from hundred-thousand-year soul beasts… that'd be incredible."

Meng Hongchen stuck out her tongue playfully. "Yuhao, you really think this young lady will become a Titled Douluo, huh? Hundred-thousand-year soul beasts aren't just lying around waiting to be picked. You think everyone's lucky enough to have a hundred-thousand-year big sis beast hanging around them?"
