Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

"You want me to climb a tree to fight you?

I'm not going to waste time figuring out how to climb a tree! I'm not thinking anymore!"

Inosuke, ignoring the {demon}'s intentions, decided to stay below.

The {spider-faced demon} ignored him, groaning in pain.

Its body trembled violently, accompanied by the sound of breaking bones.

"What's wrong with this idiot?" Inosuke was puzzled by the demon's tremors.

"Is it shaking in fear of me?" he wondered.

He laughed triumphantly. "It's too late to be scared now!"

As he boasted, the {demon} let out a deafening roar. Its skin began to tear, as if another creature resided within.

The skin finally burst, and the {demon}'s body swelled, growing from over two meters to nearly three.

Sharp spines sprouted from its arms.

The molted, larger {demon} leaped from the tree and stood before Inosuke.

Inosuke's earlier confidence vanished, replaced by instinctive fear. He trembled.

"It got way too big! This is the first time I've felt such intense pressure from an enemy. The pressure alone is almost crushing me!"

"—I'm going to die!"

At the peak of his fear, Inosuke relaxed, his blades falling. He accepted death.

Then, Tanjiro's words echoed in his mind: "Inosuke, don't die before I get back!"

"Right! I can't die yet! I haven't settled the score with Tanjiro! Bring it on, you trash!" Inosuke's fighting spirit rekindled.

The enhanced {demon} punched Inosuke with even greater speed.

Inosuke was sent flying, crashing into a tree trunk and falling to the ground.

Before he could recover, the {demon} was upon him, delivering another punch.

Inosuke, maintaining his breath, used it to dodge.

He leaped and flipped behind the {demon}.

Seizing the opportunity, he attacked.

"Beast Breathing, Third Fang, Devour!"

His blades crossed, striking the {demon}'s neck. Sparks flew.

"Clang!"

His blades snapped.
