Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

Inosuke's resentment stemmed from feeling rescued by Tanjiro again, always seeming to be one step behind.

"I told you, I don't need your concern. I could've handled it myself!" Inosuke stubbornly insisted.

Seeing Inosuke's ability to retort, Tanjiro felt relieved and focused on the {spider-faced demon} trapped under the tree.

The submerged {demon} struggled violently, causing the water to churn and bubble furiously.

Seeing the {demon} restrained, Tanjiro planned to kill it.

"Perfect opportunity! I'll use Water Breathing, Tenth Form—that should sever its neck!"

He focused, adjusted his breathing, and jumped into the water toward the trapped {demon}.

"Total Concentration: Water Breathing, Tenth Form—"

Before he finished, the {demon}, breaking free from the tree, roared and emerged from the water, tree trunk in hand.

It swung the massive tree trunk like a baseball bat at Tanjiro.

Tanjiro was sent flying like a baseball, soaring into the distance.

Fortunately, he'd redirected the attack meant for the {demon}'s neck onto the tree trunk, lessening the impact.

Otherwise, the blow would have been fatal or at least debilitating.

"Tanjiro!" Inosuke shouted, worried as Tanjiro flew like a cannonball.

He'd felt the force of the blow and feared Tanjiro was severely injured.

"Inosuke, don't die before I get back!" Tanjiro warned, knowing he'd fly a considerable distance.

He'd felt the {demon}'s overwhelming strength and speed, which surpassed his and Inosuke's.

As Tanjiro disappeared into the forest, Inosuke was at a loss.

The {spider-faced demon} charged toward Inosuke. Sensing the danger, the flustered Inosuke instinctively fled instead of fighting.
